I’m a female but my dance school requires that we were these or high heeled Capezio tap shoes for our recital. I personally wear these and Bloch tap-flex, which are the best in my opinion. These Capezio shoes are good for beginners or anyone else. I wear a size nine shoe in women’s but for this one, I wear a six & a half since they are sized in men’s. So if your a female and were to purchase these, I’d say go down 2 & 1/2 to 3 sizes to get a good and comfortable fit.

Ok shoes, but pay more for better quality -
I bought these first, to see if I even liked my tap class and ended up loving my class and ordering Leo's Giordano. These were fair, at best. They are adequate as a first pair, but if you're serious about tap, then buy more expensive and better shoes.
The main issue was that while doing something where I had to use the ball of my foot, the shoe slipped off of my heel. The better shoes don't do that.

This shoe runs a little long and although we ordered a wide, it is still a bit narrow for a very wide foot, but workable. While it says to order your street size, I would go about a half size down and if in doubt at all about the width, go wide.

 |  | My first experience with Zappos.com was during the winter a few years ago when I needed a pair of silver sandals to wear during the holidays. I saw Zappos.com advertised at the airport and thought to see what they were about. The rest is history. During that search for sandals I had as many as nine pairs here to try. They came the day after I ordered them via FedEx and those I didn't choose (I ended up with two pairs) I put back in the box, taped it shut, attached the prepared return label they had enclosed with the shipment, and dropped them off at the packaging store that same day. They were gone almost as easily as walking away from a pile of tried on rejects in the department store! Since then I use them more than 70% of the time when I am shoe shopping. There really isn't anything quite like trying on shoes with the clothes in my closet as well as trying for fit and comfort. It's an ideal way to buy shoes and I highly recommend it!
