I have a disgustingly narrow foot! And if you do, you know how hard it is these days to find shoes in a shoe store that fit; it seems that everything is EEE or EEEE! I grew up at a time when everybody wore "penny loafers" and I love them! Almost never wear anything else. Florsheim Berkley is the best "penny loafer" I have ever found, and Zappos has them! This is the second pair of Berkleys I have ordered from Zappos. Five Stars for product, quality, price, service, shipping. All my shoes in the future will come from Zappos.

Take your money elsewhere. These have the right look, especially in Burgundy, but they are the most cheaply constructed shoes I've ever owned. The leather is cardboard like, coated in shiny plastic. You don't so much polish them as wipe polish onto a non-absorbent man made surface. The heel fell off two weeks after I got them. After less than a few months of wearing them twice/week, they have started to tear right at the beef roll. For inexpensive 'weejuns', look at Sebago Classics, J&M Skimocs, or Bass instead. Zappos service, in contrast to the disappointment of this shoe, was fantastic as always.

The shoes fit comfortably, and after weeks of wear, they haven't developed the formaldehyde-stink that other partial leather or made made shoes always do! Solid leather is tougher, more comfortable, and does not stink!

My husband wears a C width loafer which is almost impossible to find in retail stores. I have had wonderful experiences on several occasions with Zappos and recommend their services to everyone. I have had only one situation in which I had to return an order. It was unbelievably easy.

I'm A Dancer.
These shoes are ok except that the soles and heels protrude around the edges and sometimes cause me to stumble when dancing. I have purchased Florsheims before and they were not protruding. I may end up having them trimmed at the shoe shop. It seems as though the factory put the wrong parts together. The heel protrudes at least 1/4 inch behind the back of the shoe.

The heel on this brand of shoes is not as narrow as my foot. I am now looking for pads to try and make it work.

Nice looking, but uncomfortable for walking and standing -
I don't know how people can say these shoes are comfortable and have good arch support. While they are indeed comfortable while sitting down, the half-length insert offers virtually no cushioning and even less arch support. And because there's no insert in the forefoot, no amount of breaking in makes these shoes more comfortable (I've had mine for two years, so I know).
They look good (until the leather starts cracking), but that's about as far as they go.

Good looking shoe, true to size advertised but quite uncomfortable. Doesn't seem to be any padding, etc. Shipping was at warp speed, hence, I will purchase again from Zappos.

The upper leather is so hard, it is hardly breaking in. I take an e width, but the shoe is not working out for me.

A shoe "Forever"
This shoe has been a favorite of my son who is now 56 years old... he is an executive and comfort are his needs... this shoe, he has quoted to me, is the shoe he will wear Forever!!!! He has not changed the style in 20 years! Same color, same size, same width and the only change has been in price. We had a store here in Santa Barbara and we only knew it by the name Florsheim Shoes and this is where he bought his first pair and my husband and I were with him. He was a model here in Santa Barbara and sometimes had to change shoes for the modeling session and of course when he was just relaxing, he wore his tennis shoes but this was his one and only dress shoe. When the store in Santa Barbara closed down, I located it by mail order and then online. Thank you for offering this product, Zappos. I have a similar pair that is 11 years old and still going. Leather sole lasts forever. Unfortunately they don't have my EE width.

How often do you place an order (my 1st) with a company and get exceptional service, same day shipping, and 1 year return guarantee policy? In my experience not ever. I am an International Purchasing Manager and purchase products from all over the world. I expect exceptional service. Just usually do not get it. With Zappos.com I did. It's hard to find a 9.5E dress shoe. I was happy to have found this pair. Although it fits well, my husband refused to wear them because the brand-tag was stitched on the inside of the shoe where it will rub your heels when you walk. It would nice if they could make it tagless like some other manufacturers do.

We finally found shoes that would work!!!!
We are buying these shoes for an 89 year old man who has a narrow foot. We looked all over the place in Houston because from his experience one "should have shoes fitted". Since men's shoe shops appear to becoming a dinosaur, trying to find a narrow width AND having someone does a professional fitting was an enigma. I tried previously to order shoes for him from Zappos and they did not fit AND he insisted on a fitting. After going to MANY stores, I finally was assured that I had his correct size, I tried Zappos again and found these shoes in an 11B. It would be extra nice if they had an AA heel, but it is close enough for him to be happy and mission accomplished!!!! Very happy with these shoes!

Finish began peeling off immediately!
I got a pair of these just recently and they look great, both style and finish, but the glossy coating began peeling off from above the toe region of the shoe within the first day of ownership (right where the shoe bends inward). I really like the style of these shoes, especially the split in the rear of the shoe, but I am a bit disappointed in the quality of materials Florsheim used on this model... maybe I just got a lemon, I really don't know for sure.

Florsheim Berkley Penny Loafers -
Shoes appear to be of good quality. Have only tried them on so far and the fit was very good. I have a narrow foot(B) so it is very hard, if not impossible, find this width at retailers. They were a Christmas present so I am looking forward to wearing them more very soon.

The Only Shoe I Wear!
I bought these Lovely Loafers to wear with white socks and jeans and with white socks and shorts in the summer and now they are the ONLY shoes I wear! I bought two more pairs in wine and two in black and I wear them for and with everything, from shorts and knee socks to suits and ties! I love penny loafers anyway and these are the ultimate in style and comfort... I continuously get compliments on them when I show them off with my white socks! Penny loafers freak here, but hey, they're great shoes...what can I say?
