I really wanted to like these boots. Unfortunately, they were just huge in the calf. I'm only 5'3", so it ended up looking like I was playing dress up or something. If you're taller, I bet they'd look great. Too bad. They are really cool looking boots.

Great boots. Very cool. I wear an 8.5 wide and I have these in a size 8 and they're perfect. You do have to break them in some. I've had similar Frye styles (harness) in a larger size and after wearing them a dozen times they had stretched to the point they were too big.

SOOOOO comfortable from the second you put them on. Run true to size in my opinion. I loved the feel of them, but the height of the shaft was such that they would only be cute with pants/jeans and I wanted something to go with skirts, too. Even long skirts would get caught on the top of them as I walked around my home trying to convince myself that I NEEDED to keep them. The brown is a deep mahogany color, so classic, so typically well made by Frye.

I bought this boot in black and the style is very nice... I got a half size smaller than my normal shoe size and the fit was just right... what I noticed is that the leather is not quite the same as my other Frye harness boots... the quality is a bit thinner.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Dansko, Rockport, Via Spiga

Nice look, awful feel. With a regular width size 10 foot, these boots killed my feet from the moment I put them on. It’s a shame because they are very nice looking boots, but due to them being so very narrow not even going up a size (11) would help. Be warned, unless you have a narrow foot steer clear, the price of these boots are too high to walk around with your feet hurting.

I would like to start off by saying: Zappos.com is amazing. My first order with Zappos.com wasn't that long ago. On one of my orders, Zappos was so amazing to give me a special priority in upgrading my shipping date to the next day I placed my order. What other place does that? Not only did they do that, they always email you right away when you place an order. Other websites take so long, you worry if they even got the order. And, in Zappos website, it's so helpful. When looking at an item, it gives all the information you need. Your size, your color, and price range you are willing to spend. AND if the item is sold out, they email you once the item is back in stock. Come on! What other website does all of this! None! When I receive my shipment(s) at home, the packaging is so cute, neat.
