Tight and uncomfortable, I wish they would have worked - I really like the way this shoe looks and it has excellent arch support. I was disappointed that the shoe fit snugly and rubbed against my little toe. Otherwise, it seemed to fit. I'm bummed out and hoping a new version is available soon.

Another winner!
After 3 years of working at Home Depot and being on cement floors 10 hours a day, I can say Keen shoes have saved my life! These are just as comfortable as the Berkeley and Sydney II that I have literally worn out. Thanks Keen!!!

Squeak solution works -
I bought these in brown over a year ago - and have suffered with the squeak because they are comfortable and perfect for urban walking. I just bought them in black and the powder under the lining works perfectly - no more squeaking.

Great, but a bit squeaky -
These shoes fit right out of the box. I ordered a full size larger than my size 8, (I usually wear an 8.5 in Keen). But they had a very undesirable squeak... it seems to be caused by the insole rubbing against the inside of the shoe. But I did remedy this by sprinkling shoe talc on the underside of the insole. No more squeak!

It’s worth the money for this kind of comfort! They wear in beautifully, wash easily, and are the most comfortable shoes ever. i will never go back to any other brand! They felt true to size, and still look brand new after washing them. I love all the compliments!

Great shoe -
Most of the Keens I've tried on are made for women with low arches, so they are tight across the top of my foot and squash my toes. My arch is very high, and this shoe accommodates it beautifully. The toe box is also wide and big enough to let all toes wiggle, and the shoe is still tight enough around the heel, unlike many wider shoes. It's comfortable with or without socks, and is finished well enough inside that it doesn't rub or cause blisters. I live in fear that they will be discontinued...

Thought I could never like another shoe as much as my Keen's St. Bart, but the Monterey is a tie. My feet, knees, and back don't hurt when I wear this shoe. I confess I even wear it with heavy socks in the winter and around the house like slippers. It does run about a half size short and is a little wide (accommodates thick socks better) but I just buckle it tighter. I have the madder, and want a black pair, too.

I read the reviews and am surprised at others disappointment. I have 3 pairs of this shoe and absolutely love and get compliments frequently. I am ordering another pair. It looks great with both pants and long skirts.

Good, but not great.
These shoes are not as comfortable as I had wished. The inside seam on one shoe is rough and rubs my small toe. I have to wear a band-aid every time I wear them. There was a breaking in time that was not easy. They do okay with my plantar fasciatious. They are okay, though, and I wear them two or three times a week. I will try another style of Keens.

As advertised!
Great shoe and as others have said, no break in time needed. Also, the fit is also as told by others; the shoe feels about a 1/2 size smaller than ordered so order on the high size of your range. Great customer service folks too.

So disappointing!
I ordered this shoe 1/2 size larger than normal and it was still too short! It was also so soft and floppy that it didn't offer as much arch support as my other Keens. Still love Keens- and Zappos, of course! Just not up to the usual Keen quality.

Monterey is disappointing...
I bought three pairs of Keens based on glowing reports but two pairs have been less than acceptable. Before you think I'm generally a complainer, realize I'm just trying to help you learn from my own mistake. The Monterey is sooooo noisy when I walk I've actually had folks turn to see what's making all the fuss. My Venice sandals turn heads for another reason - they STINK and I cannot get rid of the smell. I have never in my life had foot odor but it is horrendous and embarrassing. Save yourself the hassle of a return. At this price, they should behave better than this.

You know, Keen has become the best nursing shoe in our ER for men and women for those long 12 hour shifts on our feet! I used to wear Dansko's but Keens are the best!

Bring back and improve the Jamestown!
The Monterey’s are great, and the squeak did eventually disappear. But, I have a beloved pair of Keen Jamestown’s, which, sadly, are no longer available. The only thing I don't like about them is the composite footbed, (found on most Keen sandals) because it makes my feet hot and gives me calluses. The Monterey has a leather insole that solves all those problems. OK, they're not going to work as wading shoes, but I can live with that. Nothing, however, can ever match the Jamestown for support! My dream Keen shoe would be the Jamestown with a leather footbed. I'm seriously thinking of buying a pair of leather insoles and gluing them onto my Jamestown. Keen, do you ever read these reviews?

These shoes were cute, comfortable and true to size but they squeaked so loud it scared the cat. My friends have Keens, my husband wears Keens & they all like them a lot and swear their shoes did not squeak so I'll try again.

Very small for size -
I love the styling of this shoe, and I was so disappointed it didn't fit. I have a pair of fabric Keens that are great, so I was hopeful about these. The leather, however, didn't have a lot of give to it. My foot is thick (versus wide) and I simply couldn't get into the shoe. I would probably advise other plus size gals to avoid this shoe. The mint color was a pleasant surprise- not too green. Zappos' service was fantastic, as always!

At last, a good looking shoe with great arch support!
I have plantar fasciitis and need to be careful about arch support in shoes. These Keens are so comfortable and my feet feel good at the end of the day. I'm on my feet a lot while teaching and these have been great.

The Best!
I have two pairs of Keen's Monterey and six other pairs of Keen Shoes. The only other shoes I own are my shoes I wear at the gym for my workouts. Keens are hands down the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Since childhood I have had difficulty finding shoes until I bought my first pair of Keen. I am delighted with all of my Keen shoes.

I am so glad I decided to try Keen shoes! I have been wearing mostly Dansko and Wolky shoes when teaching--both wonderful, but wanted to find another brand of shoe that was rugged and good looking with excellent support. I wear a 42 in Danskos and Wolkys and a 10.5 in Merrells and New Balance. I need an 11 in Keens because they run a half size short. An excellent shoe!

They squeak!
These shoes fit great and they're comfortable, but they squeak! I've had them for a few months and I've worn them quite a bit. I tried putting powder in them (an old cure for shoe squeaks) and it works for less than half a day but then they start in again.

Love this shoe! Bought the Newports about 3 years ago...while they've not shown an ounce of wear, they are kinda heavy & hot compared to the newer styles. LOVE the Rosarita! Got it in my size & it stretched out but, is still comfortable...Wore them everyday for a week in Santa Fe...Just got the Monterey. WoW! This shoe is hip, sporty, sleek (no clown action) & super comfortable...I can wear it with everything. I can't wear cheap shoes without support. I walk a lot (New Yorker) & am on my feet all day. I wore the Newport with everything (I work for myself) but, I got tired of looking like an urban explorer. Keen keep it up with the upscale funky designs! Got my proper 9 and a half & it fits like a glove.

I love these shoes...as I do all of my Keens. They feel a little narrower than my Newport H2s or my Taos' do. The way cool styling gets lots of compliments.

Very cute and comfortable!
These are very comfortable sandals. I bought them for a cool-weather sandal, as they are more enclosed than flip flops or Tevas. I also like them for casual bike riding and walking. I like the look better than Newports, these are a bit sleeker in appearance and don't have that duck-foot effect. However, they are not as adjustable as the Newports through the instep. I had been advised that Keens ran a half-size small, so I initially got the 7.5s but they proved too big. Size 7 fit me perfectly, so in my experience all three Keens (Astoria, Newport and Monterey) that I have owned ran true to size.

Not so Keen!
This is my second pair of Keen's. Although I like their appearance, they are not nearly as comfortable as the lace-up shoes that I own.
I also don't think that they are as durable as they should be.
Overall, I am not wowed by them.

I bought these shoes to wear when I ride with my husband on our motorcycle. They work great. I get enough ventilation and protection for my feet at the same time. I would definitely recommend these shoes if you are looking for comfort. They look great and I get lots of comments on them.
