These boots fit my size 14 foot perfectly. I road tested the boots and walked 3 miles without any discomfort. They are stylish and will be great for the inclement weather and cold climate where I live. I recommend these boots!

Nice boot -
It is a riding style, but the ankle is a little too roomy and can bunch up a bit. Otherwise, fits great and looks great. I followed other's advice and bought a wide width, though I am very definitely a medium width, and am glad I did. The medium width would have been far too small.

Gappy around the ankles -
I have a really hard time finding boots to fit my wide calves and these were the perfect solution. Because of the laces, they can expand even further. The only problem is that the ankle area is quite loose now, so I feel like I can only wear them with long pants.

Review of fall boots -
The boots are excellent nice soft leather, with a wide calf fit-the first pair of boots I have been able to wear in a long time since gaining some weight. Excellent fit and look.

I have large calves and am a true WW. Unlike some of the reviewers on here, I purchased an extra wide in order to fit my foot as well as my calf. It seems that the manufacturer knows that some people will be buying extra wide for their calves only and made them slightly narrower than a true extra wide. Without socks, which I want to wear with boots, they are a little too tight in the width. With socks, my little toe feels like it is going to fall off. Furthermore, they are at least an entire size too large lengthwise. Even with thick socks my foot is slipping up and down in the boot. I'm unsure if I will try them in a smaller size or not. I really need boots and will try several other styles to see if they are more comfortable before deciding on this one. I don't love them, and I expect that if I spend this much money on shoes they should be comfortable and attractive (these are a bit frumpy). Unfortunately, even with Zappos great selection, my options are limited.

Disappointing -
I thought it would be great to customize the fit. The cons: 1) The zipper is really stiff. I suspect it will break quickly. 2) The ankle is baggy to the point that its folds rub against my skin. I am aware that the ankle is never a tight fit in boots, but usually the extra material isn't painful.
The pros: 1) Foot was comfortable. 2) It fit my huge calf (17 inches with a size 6 foot - I bought the 6WW). 3) The "tongue" at the back is tacked at the top on one side so it won't fall down which I was afraid it might from reading other reviews.

Nice attractive boot, the adjustable back/ calf laces accommodated my wide calf 16in and suede pants without ordering the wide width (out of stock). Very pleased with purchase. Although, the zipper could be better quality. It’s stiff and not very flexible.

Works for an extremely hard to fit calf -
Nice looking boot. I would like it better with a slightly higher heel. My calves are extremely wide, so none of the other wide calf boots worked for me. These did because of the laces in back, they could adjust even wider. I had to get the extra wide foot to get the calf width, so they're a little more roomy on the foot than I need, but I can work with that. I am happy just to be able to wear a fashionable high boot.

Very cute boots, easy to tuck jeans into or look great with a skirt/dress. Nice to be able to fine tune the sizing with the lace-up ties in the back.

I purchased this boot to wear on a trip to Europe. It has great looks, is comfortable and easy to put on and off. Once you adjust the strings for a perfect fit on your legs, you tie them and then use the zipper. So you don't have to mess with the strings each time.

These boots are really cute. They are stylish and sheik. They are made very nicely. On a personal note they slouch at the ankle and look scrunched. They fit nicely.

Loved Them!
I have very large calves (actually need 23 inch around) and large ankles that I rarely can fit straps around. I also wear 11w which is hard enough to find... I ordered the 11ww and they were perfect! The extra width made the ankles fit better. Finally a knee-high boot that fits.

I like this boot. Comfortable. Cute. I ordered wide and it fit very nicely, especially around my calf, which doesn't fit in regular. Would have liked to see better quality of leather for the money but I still like it.

Fit beautifully, look fabulous! Truly wide-calf as advertised. I have small but very wide feet which are hard to fit, but these boots fit perfectly and are absolutely true to size.

First pair of boots in a long time -
I hadn't looked for boots in a long time. Have a somewhat large calf, but am sort of like goldilocks, I guess - wide calf boots too big and regular boots too snug. These boots work. I also have a wide foot. They are comfortable and look nice. I'm not particularly fond of the laces, but these were the only boots out of the 5 or so pairs I tried that fit ok. The ankle is saggy (and tightening the laces doesn't correct the problem) and the sole is a bit thin. But the leather is nice and I am glad I found them.

I have never been able to find a tall boot that would fit my wide calves. Since Zappos gives the measurements I thought I would take a chance on these. I could not believe it when I tried them on and the zipper went all the way up easily. I do not do well with heels but this nice wide heel feels very stable and comfortable. I am so happy to finally have a pair of boots! Thank you Zappos!

FINALLY!
These boots are what I've been looking for a few years now. Although I'm not crazy about the lace-up back since it sort of dresses down the look, and the tongue under the laces in the back is unattached on both sides, they are just the right heel height with a hard-to-find 13WW fit. For a WW, though, the rounded toe doesn't give me quite the room I was hoping for because of my own boxy toe span (a problem specific to me), but the instep is great and the boots are comfortable for 8 hours' work.

Make Wide Calves Look Wider!!!
The shaft length on these boots is way to short for wide calves!! I am 5 foot 5 and have 16 inch calves! These were barely wide enough! They were baggy in the ankle and the shaft height accentuates the width of my calves! I am returning them!!

I usually order WW shoes. I'm so glad that I measured my legs first because the WW would have been too big, so ordered a W. Still, as it is, the heels inside are pretty wide but thick socks helps that. Also had to order up half a size because they were out of 8 1/2 at that time. All in all I still love the look of these boots.

This boot was actually my second choice; my first choice was out of my size but very pleased with order. I haven't been able to wear boots in 20 years because of my large calves. Department stores never carried boots that were able to fit my calves so I decided to try my favorite shoe store...Zappos.com. And bingo!! This boot is great due to the fact that you can lace up the boot as loose or tight as you want it. This boot gives a little flare due to the lace up style...sexy yet still classy. I did find the boots a bit pricey but once I was able to wear boots again I really didn't mind the price.

Boots that really fit and look nice in size 12...I’m excited -
I’m from Canada 5’10 and wear a size 12M. In Canada finding size 12 is near impossible, let alone trying to find a size 12 that are fashionable and not extremely wide in the calf. I am so glad I found Zappos and I really love my new David Tate boots. I just got them and haven’t worn them outside...but around the house they are very comfortable and actually make my size 12 feet look smaller. The lace up back allows me to draw the boot tighter around my skinny calves (which don’t look half bad). The boots seem warm enough to wear during Canadian winters.
Thanks again Zappos for coming to Canada and thanks David Tate for making a descent boot for tall big footed women. Shipping to Canada took about 1 week...I will definitely shop Zappos again.
