Very comfortable tap shoe with pliable soft leather upper. It is lined inside (synthetic soft material), which is great if you don\'t want to wear them with socks. The Bloch design at the heel curves at the back tendon and is quite pliable, adding to the comfort. \r\n\r\nThe laces could be just a tad longer and I am considering buying replacement laces that are not too long, not too short (considering my foot is not wide or fat, I was surprised at the laces\' shortness). \r\n\r\nI\'m a beginner at tap, so I can\'t really judge the tap quality, although it all sounds fine to me. \r\n\r\nOverall, a good shoe for this tap newbie.

My daughter loves them. They are so soft, flexible and light. My daughter has not worn socks with them and has yet no blisters. Her "wings" are easier now with this shoe.

BUY A FULL SIZE LARGER THAN YOUR USUAL SIZE! These are wonderful, comfortable tap shoes, but they run really small. I wear them without any sock at all, and still needed a 7 1/2 when my usual size is a 6 1/2. Save yourself the trouble of returning a pair and exchanging them. GREAT SHOES! Happy tapping!

I love my new Bloch Tap-Flex's. They are extremely comfortable right out of the box, and the taps sound great. I love the extra adjustability afforded by laces. I ordered one size larger than my street shoe size and they fit fine. I think I could also comfortably wear 1/2 size larger than street shoes (Zappos was out of size 9 at the time). If I had ordered my street shoe size I'm afraid they would have been a bit too short. I also like the unisex style because I hate dancing in heels!

Zappos for my dancing needs!
After going to two dance stores and not finding my size, I went online to Zappos and was ecstatic to see that they had it! I love the split sole as they're much more flexible than ones without it. I only wish the laces were a tad bit longer. Otherwise, I love them and love Zappos!

Really comfortable shoe but runs small -
This is an extremely flexible comfortable shoe, maybe a little too flexible. The shoe does run at least 1/2 size too small. The toe box fits perfectly.

Great for beginning tapper!
Bought these for a beginning tap class I started a few months back. I bought a 1/2 size bigger then my regular size and they fit great. Definitely not for a wide footed person. They are very soft and flexible.

I ordered your Bloch Tap-Flex shoes for my 15 year old nephew who is in a lot of dance competitions. Just out of the box, they were very comfortable, with no break-in time needed. He really puts them through their paces, and they wear extremely well. I am very happy with the purchase of these shoes (and so is he)!
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Can't recommend others as these are specialized shoes, but if tap shoes are needed, these are great!

Very comfortable shoe that fits true to size. Good flex design for a beginner like me. I'm an AA and it fits perfectly. Good quality in the construction of the shoe.

Walking on air -
I'm new to tap and was looking for a shoe that is comfortable to dance in and versatile with different outfits. This shoe provides all that, and the only minor concern for me is it lacks the arch support I'd like, but with inserts it's perfect! Definitely recommend this shoe.

Comfy and flexible - The shoe fits like a glove. It was a little snug at first. I wear between a size 7 and 7.5. If you plan on wearing thicker socks then a 7.5 might work best. The cashmere lining is soft and silky. I like that the shoe has a flexible sole making it easier to perform the steps. The heel height is perfect too.

Bloch Tap Flex Review -
I was somewhat disappointed in the support and flexibility of the shoe. I also have a pair of the Bloch T strap heel and I much prefer that shoe to this one. I think it is a better balanced shoe and much more comfortable when dancing. My knees are more stressed and tired after dancing in the tap flex. Maybe the heel should be just a little higher. I think you would be able to strike a better sound out of the taps. You tend to fall back on the heel in this shoe.

These are great tap shoes. My daughter says they are comfortable right out of the box. She wears a size 3 and we ordered a women’s 6. They fit great! Would recommend these tap shoes.

These shoes feel very comfortable. I find shoes vary so much in fit that I'm not really sure of my true size. I have shoes from 10M-11-1/2N. I have a long; slightly narrow foot, and long toes. Many shoes squeeze me in the toe box, but not these; many times narrows are a little too narrow. These are 11-1/2 narrow, and fit me perfectly. They're soft, and yet supportive, with a high, solid toe box and soft, cushy lining. They felt like ‘my shoes’ the minute I put them on. I don't feel much arch support in them, which works fine for me. I haven't tapped in decades, so I'll have to see how that part goes!!

Great Tap Shoe!
We ordered this shoe for my daughter and she loves it! She normally wears a girls 4/women's 6, but other comments suggested ordering a size larger, so I ordered her a women's 7 and it fit perfectly. She said this is the most comfortable tap shoe she's ever had.

Sounds great, but the sizing seems unpredictable -
I wear a 5.5 street size shoes and ordered these in 6 based on Bloch's sizing chart and reviews here. These shoes were still too small, so I ended up ordering and keeping a 6.5, which feels slightly big. I'm concerned that they may be really too big once the leather stretches, but there's no way I could start out with the too-tight size 6. On a better note, the sound is GREAT. They are comfortable with thin socks and don't seem to need any break-in period. Of course, Zappos' service has been great. These shoes are nothing to look at, but the sound and manufacturing quality are there. Just be aware that it may be hard to zero in on the best size for you.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: So Danca. Looks great ,but doesn't sound as good.

Great dance shoe for my daughter -
This is a great shoe for tap dancing. Extremely comfortable and flexible, yet provides the support needed. I only gave it a 4-star for the looks since it is a typical tap shoe and you really are not going for style! This is my daughter's second pair of Bloch's tap-flex and we will continue to buy them as her foot grows.

I followed other reviews' advice and ordered a half size up, but I had to return them for my regular size; not sure if Bloch changed their sizing or if other people are wearing socks with their shoes (I just wear peds or tights). Super comfortable & I can't wait to wear them for tap class.

A wonderful shoe -
This shoe is great! I'm a first-time tap dancer. The instant I put it on, it fit like a glove for my feet. The leather is soft, and it has enough flex to make heel drops and such easy to do. My feet didn't hurt at all after class (unlike the first pair of Mary Janes I had). I ordered a half size up, but might have been able to get the regular street shoe size.

These shoes are so comfortable, took them straight out of the box and went to class, no breaking in, very flexible. Great sound. I've had several years of dance and didn't know what I have been missing since buying the Bloch shoe.
