ALMOST PERFECT. This is the best sandal footbed I have ever worn - I love the negative heel of Earth, and these have great arch support and just the right amount of cushion while still offering a solid hiking footbed. I also have the Earth Cabos, and where the Cabos lack in strap support, the Yosemites make up hugely. (Okay, so the Cabos do get cuter style points.) Like Chacos, the Yosemites have some straps that are adjustable by pulling through the footbed - the top strap and one of the cross straps are actually one continuous strap. Like Tevas, the rest of the straps are velcro. Chaco has a better overall continuous system, but the straps tend to dig. Teva has a better velcro system, but the lack of technology in the Yosemite velcro is my only minor complaint. At first they seemed loose, but when I walked in them a long distance the amount of give in the straps was perfect for total comfort, and the heel strap keeps them secure.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: No brands match the negative heel of Earth... Style wise - Chaco, Teva.

Awesome All Ways Around -
I bought these sandals for a trip to Mexico because they looked sturdy, are adjustable, and are supposed to help align my spine. Since I have issues with my hips and feet, the technology advertised in these sandals was very appealing. I didn't know very much, if anything, about this company until I bought the Yosemite sandal. Besides being very comfortable, completely adjustable, and stylish (if you are the outdoor/sporty-type), they are vegan! I loved the literature that came with the box. Everything was packed in recycled or wood-free packaging.

Too bad for skinny feet -
Again, my feet were too skinny (not narrow, but skinny, low density feet) for this shoe. Unfortunately, the toe strap doesn't adjust, but even the other adjustable straps would have to tighten down past the end of the velcro if they were to fit my feet. Too bad, since the sole felt very comfortable otherwise; a bit clunky for dressing up, but fairly lightweight.

Good for everyday casual. These took more getting used to than I'd hoped, but I wear them a lot. The footbed is not cushy, it's rather stiff. The straps are somewhat stiff too, so they weren't comfy right at the start. Once I became accustomed to them, though, they've been my go to shoe for running around with the kids, to the beach, to the store, etc. They can get wet, they are sturdy, and they are easy to get on and off. They feel much wider than the other pair of Earth shoes I purchased, which is a good thing because those were almost too narrow.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have EVER had.
I seem to have every foot ailment known to man and walking is painful in general (Although, I thank God I can still walk - fairly normally just with pain). Although my feet still hurt, I can wear these shoes longer and enjoy my summer days with my grandkids more with these shoes than any I have ever worn.

Did not like low heel -
My first try with an Earth shoe, and I could not get used to the "negative heel technology". The straps were not padded and uncomfortable. Did not come in half sizes and was not able to compensate enough with the Velcro straps.

Great for beach & great fit -
Perfect sandal for beach sports. Good support. Very comfortable. Much easier than other similar types of water sandals, to custom adjust the fit with the velcro straps on both sides of ankle & back of heel. These stay put once you get them adjusted and don't have to fuss with refitting when you take them off! Easy on/easy off. One flaw design: Not enough velcro on back of heel strap. I have skinny heels, and the overlap to make them snug leaves my only 1" of velcro fastening. Easily remedy-add some yourself by either sewing on or with sticky back velcro from a sewing shop.

Good for wide feet -
After reading all of the customer reviews- I decided to get the Yosemite sandal, as opposed to the Cabo. I have wide feet and big toes (like Fred Flintstone). I have a bad back, and bursitis in one foot (from a tough pregnancy), which causes my right foot to be extra-wide looking. I'm overweight (although working on it), and I needed a good sandal to run after my now 2 year old. Well, I found it! I am soooooo glad I decided on Earth's Yosemite! I wear between an 8 and 8 1/2. I ordered the 8, and it fits really well. If you are closer to an 8 1/2, I would order a size up, unless you don't mind your toes going really close to the top of the shoe. I only have one "complaint." There is one strap that doesn't adjust (the other 3 straps all adjust). I wish that strap also adjusted- because it could possibly rub on your foot if it's as wide as mine. All in all, this is a great shoe. Without sounding like an "ad"- the negative heel technology really does help relieve back pain! Also, these sandals are pretty cute looking. If you are on the fence about this shoe- I would definitely try it. I also own Chaco's (which in my opinion are heavier and inflexible). I like Keens, too- but those don't make my back feel as nice as Earths. Again, thumbs up to Zappos. I thought I wouldn't get this shoe for days, but they sent it overnight. I don't know why anyone would ever shop elsewhere- great customer service!

I work in a garden center. I walked almost all day and in the evenings I would come home with my legs and feet killing me. I have wore these shoes for two weeks now and am so impressed on the comfort and no more pain at the end of the day. Am ordering another pair...great shoe.

Sleek, stylish with wear-out-of-the-box fit!
I didn't know what to expect, but cannot say enough good things about this shoe! They look great - actually somewhat sleek. I live in a warm-weather climate, wore them to work (first day out of the box), wore them that night with a semi-dressy outfit. They really look good enough to do that - not clunky or boxy. I am so happy with the fit and feel. Several friends asked me where I got them. Upon closer inspection, one commented on the nice arch support. This is really a lovely, comfortable shoe. I have worn them for two days straight and no blisters, rubbing, or anything. FYI - I have trouble wearing thong-style sandals because of some foot surgery years ago and that limits my choices. So I am thrilled to find something I can wear that looks and feels great! To my sister - thanks for the gift certificate. You made these shoes possible! You are a doll and a half!

Oww -
I thought these would be perfect because of the high arch, but I was very unhappy with them and returned them. I thought they were very poorly made. The straps have no padding and cut into my skin. This was the main problem. The bumps on the bottom hurt and the plastic makes your feet sweat. Obviously many people like them, but I dont know how they get used to the straps. I bought the Chaco ones instead.

Light comfortable sandal; could use more cushion -
I give this sandal 4 out of 5 stars. Note I am big into comfortable, functional shoes. This sandal felt great when I first put it on. I was expecting a more awkward feel given the negative heel, but it is very comfortable in that it was the perfect size, shaped wide enough for a real foot and is very light. The negative heel is barely noticeable. It also looks pretty nice (I have khaki). These look similar to Chacos Unisweep Z something or other, which I have, but with less weight and chunkiness. I held back a star though because the heel seems to have zero cushioning. This didn't need to be this way to achieve the negative heel. I notice the rest of the footbed has a strong but giving material that provides cushioning between your foot and the streed when you apply pressure from walking. The heel has none, so it felt rather hard and less than totally comfortable when walking on sidewalks. Also, this sandal could use more arch support. I much prefer the original or cross current sole of Chaco's (note, the Flip is too flexible and thin for serious trekking in my opinion). I haven't taken this sandal on an extensive trek. I suspect I will find it just fine off road, but on sidewalks a little harsh. I did notice my legs are a tad more sore than usual. I've noticed other comments on sore legs and attributing to the negative heel. I have to wonder whether some of this isn't because of the harsh landing on the heel due to insufficient cushioning causing more shock to the legs. Anyway, all in all, I will keep these, like then a good deal, but will probably do my more serious walking with my Chaco Zs.

A FINE RIVER SANDAL -
I bought a pair of size 7, which is my usual size, of Earth's "Yosemite" river sandals in Khaki green. They are marked as "vegan," which I guess means that there were no animal products used in the making of the sandal. I figure Chaco and Teva could make the same claim, but don't. I thought it a bit of a marketing gimmick.
I primarily bought them for a trek in Ladakh, India and a day trip to the Taj. I wanted sandals that would provide biomechanical support because I was spending a lot of time on my feet and, on the trek, there would be places where we had to cross rivers. My concern was that I have an arthritic knee and I was worried how it would hold up on the trek so I needed all the help I could get.
Also, I knew that everyone else in the group would be wearing the Keen Newport sandals, and I didn't feel like making us look like a bunch of clones, which we did anyway with our North Face tops and REI capris, etc.
The sandals worked fine. My girlfriend borrowed them one day, and found that they made her legs sore in different places, but she got over it. I assume it is because the heel is lower to replicate a more natural gait. They say you should break them in over time. You're supposed to wear them for only a few hours the first time out. I didn't have any problems with them.
Overall, they worked well. No sore spots from rubbing. Durable and comfortable. They're a bit drab, but at least you can show off your latest pedicure, unlike with Keens. My only suggestion is that they add plastic buckles, like my Tevas, because the straps kinda stretched and the velcro is not very tight, which doesn't make it very secure for river crossings. Anyone who rafts should think about that.

These are great walking shoes!
I needed shoes to get me to and from the train every day (about a mile each way) and these do the trick! I love what they do for my posture and they're actually a good looking shoe. The adjustable straps are a huge bonus! The only negative is the foot bed isn't as comfy as I like (it has a criss cross pattern on it that is a bit irritating) but everything else is fabulous!

A nice alternative to Teva shoes -
These are super comfortable and not bad looking for what they are. I like the arch support and though I didn't walk in it for very long, I didn't find the negative sole uncomfortable. I would have kept them, but I decided to buy the Heaven style instead. Yosemite is ok, it's just a little sportier than I wanted. Heaven is the perfect solution and can I just say how WONDERFUL Zappos is? Man. What a great company.

Should be comfy, but give me blisters on my heels -
Every time I put these shoes on they feel great, UNTIL I WALK IN THEM (I live in NYC, so I do a lot of walking). They give me blisters on my heels. I went and bought heel cushions that you put inside your shoes, they seem to work. Although toward the end of my day, I still notice a little chaffing. I think the back of the shoe that rubs against the heel needs to be lower.

Sturdy, Comfortable and Great to Walk In -
My only dislike is how the velcro straps curl outward if you need to adjust smaller.
Not the most attractive shoe I have had in this style of shoe.
Like the hard sole, is great for keeping all the pointy things you find in the Arizona landscape out of your feet.
Lower heel is very comfortable, once you get use to it.

Very comfortable and perfect for wide feet -
My first Earth shoes. I was looking for a pair of sandals that will keep my wide feet comfortable. And this one is perfect. I ordered half size down and it is a great fit. I can spread and wiggle my toes as much as I want. It is not the prettiest sandal and the fabric could be a little softer to skin, but it helps me to walk better with the negative heel. Anyone with bunions or pronation will find this pair very comfortable.
