Sure they are great, unless your feet fall in the half range. I'm 11.5 so I bought the 12 and found my feet swimming around in the shoe. Then I changed it to 11 and made the big mistake of going outside, assuming they would be fine. Worst time of my life: My toes were squashed in the front while my heels were still skidding all over the place. And of course since I took it outside, I can't return it. I've worn nothing but boots since I was 12 and never had my "Docs" phase. They were simply the worst boots I've ever worn.

A Serious Pair of Boots!!!
I was scanning through a catalog, and I contemplated for a month before I actually bought them, since it was mail order. Man, I am pleased that I did! And I found out more awesome facts about them after I got them, and did some more research. Tough, comfortable, durable, and a serious fashion statement, and more!

Zappos.com Rocks!!!
Ok, let me start off by saying that I ordered these boots last night! I came home and found them… pretty exciting considering many other websites that offer next-day air really mean a week after processing... Anyway, the boot itself is really cute and fashionable, definitely not the old Doc Martens. I also had a problem figuring out which size to get, so I did the Live Chat and they really know about shoes... considering I live in Chuck Taylors, I wasn’t sure which size to get... I just told the representative which size I was in Chuck Taylors and he suggested the perfect size! and I love them... sooo

Zappos is the best...
I received my Doc's today. Thanks to the other reviews, I ordered a size smaller then I normally wear in shoes and they fit perfectly. You truly have nothing to worry about when you order from Zappos. I'm sure that after a short break in period my Doc's will be as comfortable as I remember them. Thanks Zappos ! ! !

Fantastic -
They look good and feel great! Make sure you check your sizing ladies and go one down from what they have for men's sizing. I take a 9 so I bought a UK 7. These boots are well made and very comfy. I use them for motorcycling and they are perfect!

For Women -
I love these boots, but the sizes they carry are too big. They should make a pair for women!!

I bought these boots for my son's Christmas present. He grew up with Docs and has always wanted another pair for work. He has been wearing them ever since he opened the package. They are well constructed, comfortable, and sturdy. The quality of the craftsmanship is superior to many knock-offs that he has had to endure for the last ten years.

Understand that Doc's need to be BROKEN IN -
Ok, so, first of all, and really most importantly, let me first explain to you how awesome Zappos really is. I don't work for them; I don't know anybody who does. The only reason I'm starting with adulations for them is the fact that they are the first online company I ever got anything from where they actually cared so much whether you were satisfied with your purchase that they pay for you to return the ones you have and express send you the ones you are exchanging for. Not only that, unlike a lot of companies, they just trust that you'll send back the other shoes (of course, they'll charge you if you don't, but still).
The shoes themselves, run a bit bigger than I was expecting. I usually wear a 9 or an 8.5 and I got a UK 8 (US 9). It was a size too large. After the exchange for a UK 7 (US 8), it felt a little bit constrictive, but I really just needed to break it in. I've had them now since the end of November and they feel awesome. The pictures on Zappos are also extremely true to form. The Tatoo looks awesome in person.
I highly suggest these Doc's if you like the style and like steel-toe shoes.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Anything on Zappos generally. If you don't like them, you can always exchange them.
