Boots are stylish and comfortable. Bought them to walk around NYC for 6 days and they worked great. I inserted a gel insole so I bought 1/2 larger than I needed (I wear a 9 and bought the size 40). My calves are 14.5 inches around and the boot fits snug. I can only wear them with "skinny jeans" or leggings. My boot-cut jeans won't fit without bunching. The heel height is perfect for walking and the leather is soft and form fitting. The lining is very warm and the sole is flexible. I would have given a 5 for comfort, but the insole isn't very cushy (but I have a high arch and like some cushion).

The brown Riekers are really lovely and great for walking! I wanted a stylish pair of brown riding boots that I could walk all over the city with and these are perfect. They are lined for extra warmth and they fit perfectly over skinny jeans. My boyfriend is very selective with fashion and he immediately loved them. The brown color is especially pretty and they catch your eye. Zappos gave great customer service, I highly recommend them and think they are a great price as I shopped in stores and saw boots up to $300 and I am happier with these.

Good fit in the calf for someone with large, athletic calves. There is no arch support, however, and the arch region of the shoe sagged and ruined the overall line of the foot. Had to return and continue my search.

So tough and girly at the same time -
These boots are a hit. They are comfortable with a slight stylish heel and I received a compliment from a stranger on the first day I wore them out. You can tuck in jeans that aren't slim fit without discomfort or bulging in the boot (and I have athletic calves). A great day boot, but with a dress top and some jewelry they can easily be worn at night.

Love my new boots!
I tried these on during a recent girls trip to NYC. Decided the LAST thing I needed to do before Christmas was buy another pair of black boots. The FIRST thing I did when I got home was go on-line and buy the boots. Worth every penny. Unique, comfy and paid for with a surprise end of the year bonus!

This review is for the black boots. I have the same pair in brown, which I love, and have been wearing for a second year now. Decided to get the black ones, but the leather looks cheap and way too shiny.

Great boots!
I've been looking for a pair of good quality brown tall boots for awhile and these got such good reviews on this site that I thought they'd be perfect. I have to say, for the amount of people who swore by how comfortable they are, and for the amount that Rieker talks about their "anti-stress technology," I expected these to have some kind of padding under the foot. The soles are very flexible, but there's no cushion under your foot. Doesn't matter to me so much because I decided to go with a larger size and use some insoles. The boots really are beautiful and the fleece lining will be perfect this winter. So far I've found that the fleece is not too overbearingly warm, which is perfect. They do sag around the ankle a little bit, which I wish they didn't, but overall I'm really happy with them!

I have been looking for a pair of tall brown boots everywhere for my upcoming trip to Paris. A friend told me to try Zappos. I ordered these boots immediately and they are fabulous! Comfy, stylish and they will be perfect for walking the City of Lights. They look great over skinny jeans (I have decided this will be my "uniform" while there). I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than I usually wear and they fit great with socks. I highly recommend them!

Great looking boot!
I love the look of this boot--very stylish. Since it’s summer, I haven't worn the boots yet, except to try them around the house. They fit well and are exactly true to size. I like the flannel lining, and since I have other boots which have even warmer linings, this lining seems just right. I love the riding boot look and the heel is perfect. They seem very comfortable. The leather isn't the softest--it's a bit stiff to the touch, but in general the boot is lovely.

LOVE THESE BOOTS -
I must say I was extremely happy to come across these boots. I wanted a riding style boot that had a wider than average calf... the calf width of these is considered average but they were so cute I had to order them and try to squeeze my leg in there. It was extremely tight and I could barely zip them up but I loved the style so much that I took them to the shoe shop and had the calf stretched. They stretched very well and now they fit perfectly. It was worth the extra $15 I paid to have them stretched, in my opinion. They are very comfortable and stylish; I get a lot of compliments when I wear them over skinny jeans. The only problem I have with these shoes is the fact that I have about .5" of room in front of my toes... they are a full size too big in length but since they are boots they stay on and it's not too much of a problem. I would have gotten a smaller size but there weren't any smaller than the 6 I ordered at the time. Love these boots though!

This boot was comfortable from day one. I, like one other customer, wore them for ten straight days of walking through Paris - lots of stairs and they looked and felt wonderful. One of the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. Lots of compliments too!

These are very comfortable & attractive, but I wound up returning them because 1) they were too warm to wear to the office and 2) I decided to go with something dressier.

Awesome Boots!
I bought these boots a few weeks ago, and have worn them just about every day since. They are SO comfortable, and warmer than unlined leather boots. Based on other reviews, I ordered a smaller size than normal, and the fit is perfect, even with thicker socks. Overall, a really comfy, good-looking boot. I just wish I could find them in black!

Comfortable AND warm -
Great boot. Lined with flannel and pretty good in the snow with low slip factor. The only problem with these boots is the black zipper on the inside. Would be a PERFECT boot if the zipper blended a bit better. But, I kept them anyway and think they're a great buy. Run true to size.

For the price this boot is great. It's comfortable and warm. The leather does not look as nice as a $500.00 pair, but it does look more expensive than the price. I bought the brown pair; don't know what the black leather looks like. I do recommend this boot.

I ordered these boots in a size 7-7.5. I always wear a 7.5 and these boots fit me fine. I like the leather and the styling is great. I've worn them once so far and they are very comfortable. They will look cute with tucked in jeans and more casual skirts I think.

Fabulous Boot!
Beautiful and so comfortable. These boots are lined, which makes them all the more perfect for the winter weather. This boot does fit to size, I originally ordered a size smaller after reading the reviews and had to return them for my usual size.

Totally amazing buy -
I am completely happy with this pair. I feel like I could run in them and possibly will. The boots are comfortable and soft on the inside, and have that wonderful sneaker feeling. Yet on the outside the pair looks elegant and fashionable. I was totally surprised at how roomy and comfy it was. Plus it's also light. You might want to wear thick socks with this one for extra snugness, but the sizing I think is quite accurate. One tiny design flaw is the black side zippers but they're quite negligible.

Perfect!
I bought these boots to get me around Paris on foot for two weeks. What a great choice. I wore them almost every day as I walked an estimated average of 10 miles a day. My feet never hurt and the boots still look and feel great. They were a comfort to the feet the very first time I put them on and I will buy more Riekers in the future. I will continue to shop from Zappos for most of my shoe and boot needs. Their customer service is unequaled anywhere else, not to mention their great selection!

Comfy!!!
I bought these boots for every day wear with skinny jeans. They turned out to be exactly what I wanted. They are super comfy and look hot. They have soft lining all throughout the inside. Some people mentioned sizing problems. I'm a size 7 so I ordered a smaller size - 37(6.5) which fit perfectly. I deduct a point for lack of arch support (sorry)! But other than that they're the most comfortable pair of boots I own.

Big Foot -
This boot is lined and feels like a slipper. Very comfortable. My only complaint is that the boot runs extra big. I wish I had known how roomy this boot was before ordering it. But after reading my review at least you can benefit from my experience.
