The trails in Arizona are rocky. The shoe has good support and makes it a snap to walk through the rocks on slopes and steep up and downs. The fit was good not requiring any break in. I'm very happy with the shoes.

Great but not perfect -
Great shoe, very light weight; however, does not breath and not ideal for all day wear only for that reason. I like the stile and it feels great.

Perfect Boot for the occasional outdoorsman -
I was planning a trip to the Canyons of Utah and Arizona, and bought this boot as an entry level choice. They were great,, they are light yet sturdy, with great support. The traction was (is) fine, I always felt that I was wearing reliable footwear. I hiked in the Virgin River, and d3espite being soaked, they still felt sturdy and reliable underfoot, even on the slippery stones and soft riverbed. I'm unaccoustomed to mid-height boots, so wore a thick hiking sock to protect my shin, this worked well..

Well above average -
Very, very pleased so far. Even with my ankles that "roll" easily, these boots have been great. As a very weight concerned hiker these boots meet my requirements--only 18 oz per boot for size 9 1/2. I did replace the basic insoles with "Superfeet" green inserts--much better on rocky trails. Overall: a great boot for the $$$.

Great Value in a Hiking Boot -
Just used this boot to hike the Grand Canyon. It was stable across rough terrain, light as a trail runner and looks pretty good. And the price is right.

I have flat feet, and these boots definitely make my arches feel better. I also like the way they look, and they are very sturdy. I thought they ran a little small.

Excellent low cost hiking boot -
I have hard time finding shoes and boots that fit properly and have all the qualities I like: light weight, easy break in, quality materials and good looks.
This boot really has all that. They were very comfortable from the start with extremely minimal break in. I felt I could wear them all day after just a few hours of walking around. I don't think they would stand up to hard core hiking, but probably are just fine for light day trips. There's enough color and style to them to satisfy my need for fashion and I think they could be worn for a casual night out without feeling too out of place.
The only thing I worry about is the lace hooks are plastic and I fear they might not last as long as metal. I haven't had any problems yet, but I would be happier with metal hooks.
All in all, I feel I got a very good deal and am very happy with this boot.

Unbelievably light -
The light weight is beyond real. I like the way the heels dig in for snowy conditions without having to force it. Also, they are very nimble and have good feed back of the ground. A great boot for someone who prefers low tops.
