I liked the Vitesse enough that I wanted to buy another but - I can wear a reg width 9 1/2 or 10. In the Vitesse I needed a 10 1/2. It fits perfectly in the back. The toe box too is perfect for me. Toe box allows toes to move.

This is a really great running shoe. It's a bit tight in the toe box, which was a bit uncomfortable at first, but your feet are kept snug and stable while jogging or hiking. While I'm not a fan of the colors, the shoes feel good on my feet and support my high arches. Overall, I'm definitely happy!

I usually wear a 7.5-B street shoe, so ordered a size 8, but they are very snug. They're reasonably comfortable if I wear a very thin sock. I did buy them for warm-weather hiking, so this is not a big problem. If you wear a medium (B) width shoe, I would recommend going up a full size for this style.

Fits great, performs great, keeps wearing out in same spot -
This is the best trail shoe I have worn and can find. I have used it on 5 hour training runs in the rain and technical trails and love the fit and feel. It does not have very good traction on wet rock or mud however. My last three pair have all worn through on the inside at the top of the plastic heel cup within 100 miles of use. That makes each run fairly expensive. Montrail’s response to the issue was to send them the shoe and that nobody else seems to have that problem... a fair response and maybe the problem is just my foot and gait. I returned the last pair to REI, where they were bought, and they refunded the price without any question.

Super comfy, great fit -
I LOVE these shoes. I got a pair a few years ago and am so excited they are still around so I can order more. Really good arch support (I have super high arches and it's rare to find a shoe I don't need to put extra supports into), and a nice, snug, fit. One note: I am ALWAYS an 8.5 but in this shoe had to get an 8.

Snug support -
I have worn out three pair of this particular shoe. I like the snug support afforded by the stretchy inner lining. Bought two pair recently because I was told they are discontinuing this model. Hope they replace it with something even better.

This shoe has excellent support and feels so comfortable. I generally wear a size 8 but the toe box on these felt a little to tight so I tried the 8.5 and they feel great. I definitely recommend these.

Hugs your feet-
I really like everything about this shoe, but the toe box is a little tight for me. I normally wear a 6.5, normal width. I ordered a 7 and loved the way the heel and arch hug my feet, but my toes fell asleep because of the tightness in the toe box. Otherwise, a great shoe and I'll look for it in a wider width in the future!

Solid trail shoe-
When I first got it, I thought it was too small. That's due, I think, to the inner sock liner in this shoe. It makes it a bit hard to get into, and initially feels somewhat tight. But no trail trash will ever work its way down there, and once you get used to it the snug fit is great.
It's an extremely stable yet cushioned ride, and so far works great on trail or pavement.

Best shoes ever!
I love these shoes. I have bad knees and these shoes make taking a walk a pleasure. I know they're meant for running... I don't run! Yet, they are great for me as someone with arthritis... I wear them all day! They are so comfortable and give me great support! I've received many compliments on them. I'd buy them again for sure! Thank you.

I work outside and have worn this shoe non-stop for 3 years. My husband accidentally threw them away in our move and I'm going to order another pair as soon as we have the $$. Since having ACL surgery on my right knee a few years ago, this is the best supportive shoe I've ever worn!

Best fit ever for casual wear, hiking and biking!
I am ordering my third pair! I have a wide foot, hard to fit, and this is one of the few that fits perfectly. I also like the style and use it as an everyday shoe as well as for hiking.

This shoe may have saved my life!
I've had some problems with both rigidity and instability in some of the joints in my left foot. The Vitesse is the only shoe I can wear that keeps my bones in place. I credit the great cushioning and good arch support. Dress shoes and even sandals take my foot apart, so, I wear these, 365 days a year. I hate that Montrail changed them! I haven't tried the new model.

Unique design solves a problem for me -
I have a chronic problem getting a good fit. In a woman's shoe, I probably need an 11.5, which nobody makes. In a men's shoe, I take anywhere from a 9 to a 10, depending on the manufacturer. Any shoe, if wide enough in the toes, is too wide from instep back, especially true of men's shoes, which are made wider than women's. The unique design of the Montrail Vitesse is the best solution I have found so far because the stretchy inner cuff fits snugly over the area that is normally too loose. My left foot is larger than right, and since I think I would normally need an 11.5 in a woman's shoe, the left shoe of this pair is too tight wearing my normal hiking socks (SmartWool), but I solved that problem by wearing a very thin sock on left foot.
Negatives:
The same cuff that makes the shoe fit also makes them hard to get on and off. I suggest you use a shoe horn.
I don't care for the look of the shoe although the color is nice. But then, I think 99% of all walking and hiking shoes are seriously ugly.
I wish someone would sell mixed sizes, allowing people to buy one shoe size X and the other size X.5 because there are many people with one foot larger than the other. I also wish someone would make size 11.5 in women's shoes. They make size 11 and size 12--why do they assume no one wears 11.5?

A Great All Around Shoe -
I owned a pair of Montrail's several years ago. I wore them out and bought a different trail shoe, followed by yet a different trail shoe, etc. I have not been as happy with any of the others. The Vitesse looks good, feels great and will last a long time. Very versatile shoe. I wear mine to work almost everyday. I wear them on light day hikes. True to size. Plenty of ventilation to keep my feet dry.

This is my third pair. They are great for tail running and all day 20+ mile hikes. I just LOVE these shoes. Plenty of room in the toe box and holds really holds the heel in.

The greatest shoe ever. I have been wearing Vitesse for about 8 years for trail and street running. They are reliable in every way; comfirt, durability, water protection, and economical. I usually put about 600 to 700 miles on a pair before buying n new pair. they are great for running,hiking, and wearing to work. My only concern is that Montrail will someday stop making this brand. I also love that the style has not changed and remained the same all these years. Thank you.

I am on my second pair of these. the are long-lasting, very durable, super comfy and light as a feather on my feet. from heavy duty hiking to running to just daily wear, these are amazing shoes.
