Expansive for squeaky shoes -
I liked these boots and they are very comfortable but after awhile they began to squeak as I walked. I echo the thoughts of a previous reviewer, when you pay a good chunk for shoes they really shouldn't squeak.

Comfy, but squeaky -
Very comfortable, but developed a squeak within 6 months. Disappointing because they weren't cheap. Tried switching cork insoles with another pair and they still squeaked, so the problem must be in the construction of the outsole. Embarrassing to wear.

Stylish orthopedics!
Well, maybe not orthopedic, but they are truly comfortable. I have a pinched nerve and these do not aggravate it at all, in fact, I can walk barefoot for awhile after wearing these shoes! They look great with lots of styles of pants, but not so hot with skirts.

Wonderful shoe -
I had been looking for a replacement pair of black boots for 3 years and finally found them in these boots. They fit true to the European size given (37) but they were listed as a US women's 6. In my experience a 37 is usually closer to a 6.5 or 7, which is what I usually wear. The only other negative I found with these shoes was that my heel can lift about an inch inside these shoes. I have very low arches and usually need shoes with adjustment, so this wasn't a huge surprise. However, it doesn't seem to detract from the comfort level. Now that they are breaking in, this is less of a problem. I love these shoes.

These shoes run wide but are ultra-comfortable! Unfortunately I had to return them as they are too bulky for my taste. I recommend getting a half-size smaller.

Squeaky -
I bought these shoes just to have a stylish boot to walk distances in. I hate wearing sneakers out. At any rate, they are super comfortable, a little odd in the elf-like front part, but I could have looked past that. What I couldn't deal with is spending so much on money, on top of shoes that aren't easy to dress, just to have them squeak with every footstep! It is so loud and annoying and oddly embarrassing. If they were 30 beans it would be fine, but they are expensive for comfy walking boots, the designers totally dropped the ball. Who wants to hear squeaking everywhere they step. Bleck.

Comfy, but clunky -
This shoe is one of the most comfortable I have ever owned, even straight out of the box. I bought it to have a basic, black boot to wear in the snow. It has definitely lived up to that. My only complaint is the styling is a bit clunky and in my opinion, only looks good with pants.

Got flat feet and sensitive soles?
...Then this is the boot for you.
I have very flat feet and too-thin "fat pads" on the soles of my feet. I live in my Saucony running shoes. So I was desperate for a classy boot with serious arch support, shock absorption and absorbent suede sole...for a two-week winter trip to Italy.
It was one of the best purchases I've ever made. These boots comfortably withstood 4-6 hours/day of walking and standing on hard, uneven pavement (and marble stairs!) in Rome and Naples, without chafing or blisters at the end of the day. The soles also had "grip" and did not skid on wet surfaces. They were also fairly water resistant.
If only this version of the sole/footbed came in a knee-high tall design, it would have been perfect -- I would have preferred tall boots.
Also, these boots were a bit large for me since I had to order up to the nearest whole size (I'm a 7 ½ usually). Originally, I ordered a 36, but ended up with a 37. I bridged the problem with thicker socks.
I've received many compliments (by both Americans and Italians) on both the design and decorative stitching on the exterior (I have the black leather with white stitching).
I recommend this to any woman who needs a cushioned orthopedic foot bed (that molds to your foot shape) combined with sleek style.

I got these boots to be a bit more progressive than the Doc Martens I've worn for more than 20 years... These Naot’s are WOW so comfortable=no break-in time needed AT ALL. I'm still not sure they look as good as Docs. (Tough to tell from above.) Time will tell.

Zappos is #1 for shoes!!!
Zappos’ selection and availability always amazes me, but the turnaround on delivery is what makes you the best place to purchase shoes! I ordered my boots Tuesday evening and they were on my doorway before noon on Wednesday! I live on the east coast, and can't figure out how you manage to deliver so quickly!
As for my new Naot Cruise boots, I am in heaven! Not only do they meet my criteria for style, but they fit like a glove and are perhaps the most comfortable shoes I've ever bought! I am already plotting for my next purchase, and will definitely be getting another pair of Naot shoes. I have had problems with my feet in the past, caused by bunions, but since I've been shopping for shoes at Zappos, I usually make informed choices, based on other customer reviews, and have had fewer problems in recent years! Thanks for keeping me in comfort!

The Opposite of Disappointed -
I had never tried Naot before, but somehow found my way to this page. I ordered the "Oyster", too (and preferred its overall aesthetic), but chose the Cruise because I feared the suede in the Oyster would lose its shape too quickly. While these boots are not as chunky as I'd hoped, they are still cute and my oh my are they DELICIOUSLY COMFORTABLE! No kidding, they are the most comfy shoes I've ever owned. Better than Birkenstock! I will definitely be checking out Naot when sandal season rolls around.

Cradles your foot with comfort -
I'm 54 and like shoes that look cool. I needed a boot to get around in slushy Wisconsin snow and to be able to wear for hours without feeling pain or sweating. I wore them right out of the box and am extremely pleased! I own several pairs of Naots and am crazy about all of them!

I just ran a marathon this year and in the process learned how important every day proper footwear is. These are stylish enough to wear with jeans or make a skirt be casual. I could walk the whole city (and have done so!) in these.

I love these shoes -
I love Naot shoes! I have a lot of problems with my feet and these are the most comfortable shoes for me. They are good looking for a everyday boot to where with pants and that is what I have done almost everyday since I got them. They are wide across the ball of the foot (were I need it) and have great arch support. They seem to be great in the snow, and even keep me standing in icy conditions.

Awesome little boot -
I usually have great success with Naots, and this boot was no exception. I think the shell collection works well for me because I have a narrow heel. I found them to be true to my size--a 38 (7). I also have plantar fasciitis. These have enough support I can wear them without my orthotics. They are very comfortable, like wearing a slipper. They have a funky thing going on which I love but might not suit everyone!

Great walking boot -
Planning for a winter trip to northern Europe, I ordered the La Canadienne Felicia and this, and had a little boot-off in the living room. I expected to like Felicia better but Cruise won by a landslide. They were a bit snug at first in the narrowest part of the foot, but now that I've worn them non-stop for a week they feel supportive, not tight. The arch support is so good that my left arch actually hurt very slightly until I got them broken in - my feet are pretty normal, none of my shoes have much arch support at all. Last weekend I traveled to Chicago, walked a lot through rain and snow, and the Cruise performed admirably. They could use a little more sole traction, but I don't expect to encounter much snow in Atlanta! They zip all the way up with room to spare, and I have fat ankles. The leather is good quality but stiff at first. They're stylishly clunky; the embroidery helps with the overall look. I like these a lot and intend to buy more Naot brand.

These boots are unique and very comfortable. The arch support is really a benefit. I wish they were available in half sizes -- I think it could fit a little more snuggly, but with winter socks it will be OK. I have the black and love the stitching.

These were a bit expensive, but worth it. They are so comfy, and I've gotten lots of compliments.

This is a great shoe - the comfort and support of a Birkenstock meets the style of... well, anything better than Birkenstock. Great looking shoe. This is my second pair because the first pair wore out in less than a year. The leather seems to be sturdier in the new pair. The shoe also seems narrower than it used to and required more adjustment than the first pair I had. Well worth it.

Learned a lot from this.
Zappos, I am so grateful that you’ve been patient with me while I worked this out. See, the deal is that I have to wear orthotics because of a problem with plantar fasciitis. Orthotics is what keeps me off of crutches. And I’m fussy about comfort for the toes, heels, and ball of my foot, as well. So when I’ve seen a shoe brag about having an “anatomical footbed” able to conform to the shape of the foot, it has caught my attention.
What I didn’t understand was that this anatomical footbed could not take the place of my custom orthotic, since my foot insists on pronating, and a cork-and-latex footbed does not have the rigidity to withstand that force. Also, I didn’t realize that you can’t use your custom orthotic on top of the anatomical footbed, because the footbed will skew the alignment of your orthotic and make the whole rest of the shoe go off-kilter, making it hurt in strange places.
So I tried using the orthotic without the anatomical footbed, and missed out on about 80% of the comfort factor. Yes, I could wear heavy socks, but that’s still missing the point of what these shoes are all about.
Now, I had had to wear these shoes outside—briefly, to deliver my car keys to a buyer and show her how to work the lights, pop the trunk, all that good stuff—but outside it was, and that’s against the rules for Zappos returns, so I figured I was stuck with the purchase. OK, says I, since I own ‘em, I get to modify ‘em.
So I took a scissors to the footbed and cut away everything covered by the orthotic, leaving the forward part of the foot-molding cork-and-latex to cushion my toes and the balls of my feet.
Hey, guess what? It works. Sort of.
So I’m about 80% happy with this purchase, but I’m not going to mutilate the Kumara pair I bought in my pre-enlightened enthusiasm. Those are going back. Sorry, Zappos. And thank you.

Strange sizing -
I usually wear a 6 ½ or 7, so I ordered a 38 because it said that was a US 7, but it was about a full size too long. They felt comfortable and I would have tried a smaller size, but I didn't think they were cute enough to warrant the price. They looked better in the photo. The toe turns up like an elf shoe and the heel protrudes more than usual. Just kind of odd looking on the foot.

Fashionable and comfortable!
Who knew you could get fashion and comfort all in one? I haven't walked very far yet in these shoes, but I'm confident I won’t have any trouble doing so. I bought these because my last pair of black, ankle high boots finally saw their last days. And since those aren't available anymore, I went on a quest for a new pair. The look of these really caught my eye and based on the reviews here, I was sold!
I did purchase both size 5 (36) and 6 (37). I normally wear size 6. My only gripe is that neither truly fit me perfectly. The size 5 actually felt more comfortable overall in terms of width and in the heel, however it wasn't long enough! My toes hit the front. So I was forced to keep size 6, which is perfect for length, but now overall, the shoe is a bit "baggy" on me. My solution is to wear thicker socks.
On my first day of wearing these out, I already got compliments!

So cute, but narrow -
I am giving this boot 5 stars across the board because they would be perfect except for my wide foot; they are too narrow. I wear a 39 in my Naot shoes so ordered a 40 and they are still too narrow. Listen to the warning from Zappos...this collection runs narrow! They are adorable and have the great support that other Naots have, but sadly I must return them.

 |  | I just had to write you about what an incredible experience it has been recently to deal with your company. I had bought a pair of rather expensive Mephisto sandals at the turn of the year that kept cutting my feet and giving me blisters. After wearing them 3 or 4 times, I gave up, threw them in the closet and figured I'd have to donate them… I ordered a new set of Mephistos that arrived this week and fit perfectly - no blisters, no problems. Along the way, I had a different pair sent that also fit wrong and those I sent back. Each time postage was paid BOTH ways, which I found remarkable, and the new shoes even came second-day air at no extra cost. I know this is standard policy for you folks, but it blew my mind. And each time I called customer service to handle the sending back of the original pair and then the second pair, until I got the final correct pair, each representative was kind, courteous, and super-competent. What an incredibly well-run company.
