Boots looked good. Could not get my feet in them. I have a very high instep and high arch, and a prominent heel. Even with the zipper on the side, the gusset prevents the boot from opening wide enough. The ankle of the boot is very narrow, too. They were returned, and I will try another style. I am determined to find a pair for my short, wide feet. Zappos is the only place I can find shoes that actually fit! The service is excellent.

Thanks Zappos for recommending these boots - for comfort, style and overall look they cannot be beat - I got them in a wide size 7 - they have ample room in the toe box and accommodate my orthodics - now I look forward to rainy, snowy weather so I can wear my comfortable boots and feel like I'm walking on air!! Highly recommend them to anyone with wide feet who also needs arch support - they came just in time for rainy, snowy weather - Zappos delivered promptly the next morning - thank you Zappos for your unbelievable service!!!!

What a winter boot should be -
I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered this boot a full size larger. I'm glad I did! There's no way that even a half-size larger would have fit comfortably, especially with heavy socks. It's not the prettiest boot out there, but it's certainly warm, comfortable, and slush-proof.

Nice and light!
Very comfortable and SO light compared to Sorells or other such boots. I do wish the inside was real shearling, but then I probably couldn't afford them!

Warm Winter Boots -
I have very wide feet with bunions to boot! These are perfect for tromping around in the large amounts of snow we get in this area. My feet stay warm and dry. They fit well and are easy to get on and off - fit well with thick socks. They zip up quite easily, even with pants tucked in. Toasty toes!

Great boot!
I was looking for a warm, waterproof boot that I could also wear for several hours without feeling like my feet were sore... this boot has definitely filled the bill! It's comfortable, warm, and dry inside. I went with the other reviewers' recommendations of getting a size larger than I normally wear and they fit great. The first pair I ordered, however, were a bit narrow so I exchanged for the "wides" and they are perfect! No problems whatsoever and Zappos customer service is wonderful... I would definitely recommend them and this boot to anyone!

Outdoor Walking Boot -
I live in sunny CA where I never have a need for winter boots, but I am going to snowy Idaho to visit my daughter and needed not only weather protection but also soles that hopefully grip in the snow and ice since I had a knee replacement last June. These boots so far fit that criteria. I normally wear a WW, but ordered these in both WW and WWWW and the narrower of the two was absolutely too tight, so I would say they run narrower than marked.

There's enough room to tuck in my pant legs. Size does run small - I usually wear a 6 1/2, but had to order an 8.

A little stiff -
Having a 4e width foot I usually have trouble finding shoes that fit, especially anything not in a gym shoe. I was really excited to find a winter boot listed in my size, and the width is really true to size. The boot is really stiff and doesn't bend at all when you walk causing a little rubbing on the top of my foot. My feet did stay dry in many inches of snow and had good traction; I just can't wear them for much longer than shoveling. And if you need arch support you'll have to buy an insert because they don't have it out of the box. They may not be perfect, but they're functional for when I need them.

I can't say about good things about these boots. As long as you get a size larger than your shoe size, they are a perfect fit. The boots are really waterproof and keep my feet toasty warm. This cold wet winter of 2009 has really been challenge to keep my feet dry and warm and they fit the bill. For the price, they are in league of their own! In addition, the boots are easy to put on and take off. While not in the height of fashion, the boots are attractive. Who needs boots that hurt and pinch? I would recommend these boots to anyone. They are great!

I love these boots. I did order a size larger. I have thick ankles and calves and the extra size is perfect. I can still wear a slightly thick sock and they are wonderful. Good traction, very warm and snug. Highly recommended.

Had them 2 years now and the heel crumbled...
I've had these boots for two years. I bought them here at Zappos. They WERE my FAVORITE boots, hands down. You can't beat them for comfort and yes, they stay dry in wet weather. However, the heel on my right boot cracked and crumbled today, and now I have to buy a new pair. For the money, they should have lasted more than two seasons. It doesn't even snow here! (Arizona!) As a matter of fact, these boots have never even BEEN in the snow. I wear them seasonally, usually November to March, because I have EXTREMELY wide feet, and I can't wear Birkenstocks or flip-flops in the winter. Those are pretty much the shoes I am limited to, those and New Balance athletic shoes in a man's size 6.5 EEEE. Anyhow, be aware that these may not last more than two seasons. But for comfort? They're tops!

These boots are super comfortable and warm! I have larger calves so I can't tuck my pants into them, but they are very comfy. I usually wear a size 8.5 and order in a 9.5 and they are perfect. My only bad review is that they kind of look like army boot with jeans over the top of them.

Love these boots!
These are wonderful warm boots and are comfortable right out of the box. I've worn them every day since I received them. The quality is good and they look nice. Based on other reviews, I ordered a half size larger than normal in a wide. They fit perfectly. I also have ordered these boots for my mother. Waiting to see if they work for her as well.

Buy a full size up!
It took three tries (not all with Zappos, unfortunately) to get the right size -- I am a 7.5, but only the 8.5 fit. These boots are rugged, they don't slip on the ice or slush, and they are supremely warm. They don't look as formidable as the photos suggest, but they are still a serious looking boot. The calves fit very comfortably even though I probably have wider calves than most.

Warm winter boots -
My feet are warm & dry -- what more could I ask for? I ordered a half size larger than I wear in shoes because I have a very high instep which makes most boots impossible to slip my foot into. The wide width is a plus -- very comfy. I don't plan on using them for hiking so not having a perfect arch support is not critical. For walking from the car to the office, to the mailbox, and shoveling the sidewalk on a snowy Minnesota winter day - they are perfect. My feet were dry & warm. Good traction -- These are not fashion boots but practical footwear for cold snowy regions.

Will stop you in these boots. I love them and I am extremely picky about my shoes. They may not be as fashionable as some would like but these boots are functional. I've been walking through slush, snow and muck for weeks now and never a leak in these boots. I'd buy another pair if they had them in my size. I put in my own orthotics which provide the needed arch support.

This is a good snow boot, it's warm, only thing bad is I have a high instep and it's a little tight, but still comfortable enough. Overall, I like it pretty well.

The boot is warm, tough, but one of the zippers sticks a lot. As recommended by a reviewer, I ordered a half size larger. A good fit, but only with one sock; alright because the boot itself is warm. Tall socks work better than short ones, which slip down under the heel. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the Polar Walker.

Nice Boot -
I am from the Northeast and we have just been hit with two storms. I received these boots in the mail today and wore them tonight. They are GREAT. I wore them for over an hour Christmas shopping and my feet did not hurt. I am a perfect 10 1/2 but based on other reviews (THANK YOU), I purchased the 11 and it was perfect.

These shoes are comfortable, while walking around the house. I have not had the chance to wear them outside yet. I was amazed that they actually fit my calf, they are very large. I was a little disappointed in that they do not have real shearling wool for insulation. In the description of the boots it says "shearling lining", it turns out that it is really synthetic. Other than that they are comfortable. We will see how they perform in the slush and snow on Cleveland winters.

Most comfortable boots I've had in a long time. I also found there was plenty of room for my orthotics. The soles gripped the ground which is a plus on icy, Chicago sidewalks.

Great winter boot -
I haven't had a chance to wear this new boot in the snow and ice, but I really like the feel, look and fit. Based on the tread, I think it will be excellent in bad weather. The boot was also more attractive than I expected, especially with the faux fur. All the reviewers are right- definitely runs small, so order up. Also, had to do an exchange and Zappos customer service is the best.
