Initially, I thought they were great. They looked nice, polished up nice, and they weren't too spendy. Unfortunately, after wearing them for about 5-6 months, a giant crease started to appear above the toes where the shoe folds a little as I walk. A month or two later, and the crease is bad-looking enough that I'm considering finding a different dress-shoe, as not even polish will hide the large crease.

Size is untrue. Been wearing 8.5 W for years, same shoe. Buy it, wear 3 times, won't allow return to make sure I'm happy. Ridiculous.

Burgundy Marco - Just bought a pair of Marco's at a great deal. The right shoe fit so perfectly, "Wow," I thought. The left shoe feels tighter (too tight). A change of socks made a big difference. I'm going to like these shoes. I'll try not to drive in them as I keep an extra pair in my car at all times.

Great looks, not so sure on durability. It's been 6 months since I bought the Marco. I wear them one or two days a week. I love the two tone leather, the center section is soft glove leather which extends up to the tongue. This makes for an extremely comfortable shoe, but this same soft leather is the problem. It wears quickly. Mine has already started to wear off the outer layers near the side of the ball of the foot, where it rubs for instance in the car. The cap and back look perfect. To bad I love the feel of these shoes, but I can no longer recommend for regular use. Might be a great occasional dress shoe.

The shoes are working pretty well. I wore them for the first time yesterday - all day at work. The right shoe is a little tight on the top of my foot - midway, but I hope this will go away once they are broken in. The shoes are stylish - my wife really likes them and so do I. I have always used Rockports, but it has become increasingly hard to find attractive Rockports in a size 13 B. I hope these shoes work as I need dress shoes in other colors - especially burgundy/cordovan. As far as Zappos service, I could not be more pleased. I have never dealt with a company - online or bricks and mortar that provides such a high level of customer service. The shoes arrived in no time flat at no extra charge to me. I have had to return shoes in the past through no fault of Zappos, and have had no problems in doing so. I would recommend Zappos very highly.

I think it’s a good shoe, but somehow does not live up to its price tag. Extremely stylish and with a relatively shorter time span to break in, I would be tempted to give it five stars...I am not too sure if they’ll last even six months even though I wear it merely 2-3 days a week. Also, the shoes can be expected to lose shape very soon, especially if you are walking around the city in bad weather.

I have found these shoes to be very supportive. The leather is pretty stiff so you need time to "break them in". The texture and appearance is very nice. If you work in a factory environment, you may not want these shoes. The soles are leather and not ready for a factory environment. I am planning to buy another pair in the future.

Stiff leather sole detracts from comfort -
The two different types of leather make for a distinctive nice look. Stiff sole makes walking in these shoes less comfortable.

I bought these specifically because of the dual leather styles. The center section is softer and bends easily, preventing the crease that would appear with stiffer shoes after a few uses. The toe cap and rear of the shoe are shinier -- not on a full on patent gloss, but I'm planning to wear these with a tuxedo nonetheless. To expand on others' reviews: My pair (black) is also made in India, for what that's worth. I also tried the Florsheim Welles, and found the Marcos to be more comfortable. The Florsheim is *not* cut lower. I'm looking at them both as I type, and the cut around the ankle is almost identical; the Florsheim is actually higher at the Achilles, but it does have more ankle padding. The main sole is leather, but the heel is rubber! I can't understand why anyone would consider these to be good dancing shoes, unless you want to stick to the floor.

Nice shoes, but cut into ankles.
Needed leather sole shoes for dance. Ordered these and the Florsheim Welles. Both nice shoes, but ended up liking the Florsheim's better -- found the finish a bit cleaner and they have a slightly lower cut, sides don't cut into my ankles like the Bostonian Marcos.

The Bostonian Marco is a great shoe. Great fit-comfortable after a few hours. The heel tends to squeak a little on polished floors at work. The service was unbelievably good. Excellent company to do business with.

Best shoes ever!
These shoes are comfortable right out of the box. The deerskin is perfectly placed to add a comfortable flex area that leaves the shoe looking brand new. I've had these shoes for over 3 years now and have not had any trouble!

Zappos comes through again!
We were having a Dancing with the Stars fund raiser for our local Chamber of Commerce and I was invited to dance. A new pair of shoes were needed that would look good, at a reasonable price and were comfortable and they were needed FAST. Zappos did it all. Handsome Special Occasion Shoe for Teen -
This was my 13 year old son's first "man shoe." He wore with a suit. The leather is very soft and the design elegant, a bit European looking and understated. He liked the shoe, which says a lot for a boy that only wears sneakers. Very stylish and stream-lined.

Great dress shoe, perfect fit -
I was looking for a new pair of brown dress shoes, and came across the Marco. When I put it on it immediately felt perfectly comfortable, no break in required. I wore them to work the next day all day with no fatigue. Construction is very good and the center section leather is a more supple almost glove leather that I'm sure makes it more comfortable. I like the cap and the two toned look. I'm a 9.5 D, so I'm an easy fit, but these are highly recommended.

The shoes were as promised in the description. I have a 4E wide foot and I found your selection better than any other retail or internet source. I was very happy to find how quickly the order arrived at my home. (2 days). They felt as if I had already worn them to break them in, very comfortable.

This model is a winner -
The deer hide between toe and laces is super flexible for comfort where the crease breaks, plus the different look of this two-material construction has gotten compliments already. I bought two pair, different colors. Suggest you put rubber on the sole while their new. Excellent and a great value.

Absolutely beautiful. A bit narrow for my foot at first, it took about 6 wears to really break them in, but now they feel great, unless an unusually long time on feet or long distance to walk. Dresses up work slacks nicely or is an elegant evening shoe. Worth the money.

Excellent shoe with any suit. Great comfort. Leather wears well. One thing I do have to say is I owned 8 pair of Marco's to date and ALL had the heel (black rubber fall off). Hmmmmmm. That is the only flaw in the shoe. By that time they were looking ruff any way.

My first Zappos purchase -
I have wide (4E) flat feet so it is difficult finding any kind of shoe that fits comfortably. I purchased the Bostonian Marco dress shoe after reading all the reviews. I expected to utilize an arch support insert and I was right. I use New Balance stabilizer inserts and they worked great with this shoe. Overall, the fit is great, the look is perfect, and the speedy delivery was a nice surprise. Thanks Zappos. I'm ready to buy more dress shoes in my size when you get more in. Thanks.
