A knowledgeable sales clerk in Flagstaff helped me select these shoes for a 4-day backpacking trip across the Grand Canyon. I ordered 1/2 size bigger than any previous shoes to accommodate thick hiking socks. I wear a D width and the roomy toe box and lateral stability got me through the hike with nary a blister, sore spot, or ache! I'm ordering another pair--a young German short hair has proved tougher on the shoes than the Grand Canyon.

These shoes arrived really fast. I do like Zappos. I ordered one size larger than I wear in dress shoes, but that was a mistake because they were too long. I sent them back but did not order a smaller size because they were putting a lot of pressure on the little toe area of my foot. I figured if a too large size did that a smaller size would surely be too narrow.

I had an old pair of these from about 5 years ago, and I finally decided they needed replacement. I hope these ones last me just as long... They were a PERFECT fit for my insoles. I have wide feet and they're awesome. And I love how they look. Prefect for a day hike/run, but also nice and comfy to wear with jeans and a tee!

Runs short for me -
I needed to return this shoe because it runs a half size short. I ordered up a half size but my toes were right at the end and there would be not room for a mid weight sock. I put the shoe against the bottom of my Adidas in the same size, which fit fine, and could see it was a bit shorter.
I like the looks and color and the shoe would be comfortable if it ran true to size.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Adidas

This shoe is very comfortable and I bought the one that was multiple khaki colors to go along with my work uniform. I could have gone 1/2 size down, but it wasn't worth the trouble of returning and they are fine. I didn't even need to take out the insoles to put in my orthodics. Good news.

Simple design, great shoe -
This shoe lacks some of the bells and whistles of other trail shoes but the result is very comfortable and affordable. It's light, not too hot on your feet, and looks great. The only down side is the tongue is not gusseted, which I assume will make it harder to keep out dirt and debris and make it less water resistant. Also, it's not Gore-Tex, but a good old fashioned waterproofing spray seems to add enough repellency for hiking through bits of snow, muddy patches and hopping across streams. I added my own orthotics for much improved arch support.
