Keep the receipt!!!
Wearing these boots was a dream. It was the only choice of black soles. They look cool and it feels like walking on clouds until the soles don't start splitting that may happen sooner than you think. I heard the same problem from others before I bought it, but tried to be optimistic. I just realized after two months of occasional wearing that the warning was reasonable. The water and dirt filled up the air cushion, and the soles start to fall off. I did not keep the receipt that sets me back over $100. I'll replace it with a moderate looking Original Grizzly instead.
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: I recommend the original Docs. No surprises.

These shoes are really sweet. I ordered the last size 8, and they fit great, even from being still stiff new, they fit awesome. I love the red color, its like more red looking than the picture but its got like black blended in with it…the laces are weirdly short, but the shoes laced differently.. get this boot! It’s neat!

Probably the best boots I’ve ever owned -
I needed a good, comfortable, tough looking pair of boots, and though I've always eyed them from afar, I've never owned any Docs before. My intent was to get the black ones, but they were out of stock when I ordered, so I thought, what the heck, I'll get the red. And I'm so happy I did -- they're absolutely gorgeous, a rich blackish red, not quite like cordovan. And they're amazingly comfortable. They do run quite big -- I usually wear an 8.5, and I ordered an 8, and there's still tons of room in them, but big fat boot socks do the trick. Completely worth it.

Cool boots -
I purchased these for my 14-year-old daughter as a birthday gift. She loves them and says they are very comfortable. The color is beautiful and I love that the stitching matches. I bought her the suggested size for women’s 11 and they fit perfectly.

Great boot -
Dr. Martens are always comfortable never fail. I got the deep red in this boot and it looks so cool. The stitching on the sole is deep red.
No break in period for me. Just comfortable from the start.

Totally satisfied with my first Zappos experience!
This was my first time buying from Zappos, and I must say, I plan on being a regular customer!! The boots are awesome! I wear a 6.5 women's and the size 6 fits perfectly. They are very comfortable and bouncy when you walk! Very quick and painless to break in. Thanks a lot Zappos!!

This is a good shoe.
This is an excellent shoe. I've received many compliments on the look, and the shoes are durable and comfortable. They hold up well in the rain (after water-proofing, of course) and are comfortable enough to wear walking all day. The only difficulty is that you have to unlace the shoe half way every time you want to take the shoe off or put it on.

An Old Favorite -
I had quit wearing Docs because I hated the yellow stitching on the upper part of the sole. Now, hooray, I find Docs in a BEAUTIFUL oxblood red with subtle red stitching. I gave 4 stars for comfort as they take time to break in, but I think we're all aware of that. Great support and they're true to size. The only gripe I have is the laces were a little short, problem solved by leaving the top 2 eyelets empty.

My Docs rock!
When I first ordered these boots I wanted the black ones, which they were out of but I liked the style so much I settled for the red ones, as it turns out I totally love the deep shade of red. I'm a bartender and stand on my feet for hours; although these boots are not light they are completely comfortable and helpful when kicking out my rowdy irregulars that frequent the joint.

I Love These SHOES!
These boots are exactly what they are advertised as. They look great with everything and I can even wear them with the appropriate trousers to work at the office! They are very comfortable and I wear them as often as possible!

Great boot, beware of the sizing-
Very sturdy and stylish boot, reminds me a lot of the 90's, which I terribly miss. The color red is really beautiful, too. It has a subtle antique tint to it. Be careful with the size you order. I first got a model 9a99, which is essentially the same boot, but in 14 eyelet version. It was WAY too big for me in UK6 (US women’s 8), and every shoe I own is a size 8. I even have a pair of Doc Martens boots in UK6 that are ok, so I'm guessing it all depends on the model. So I've acquired the first ever pair of shoes in size 7. Would be great if Docs started making half sizes, but you can't have everything. Another thing I've noticed- the black leather was softer that the red one, so the red would require a bit of breaking in. Didn't take me more than a few days though :) Overall I'm very pleased, and did I mention the SUPERIOR customer service Zappos has? It actually is amazing. Thanks for everything.

Excellent shoes!
These boots both look and feel great! The leather is butter soft and the soles are bouncy and sturdy without being clunky. They totally RAWK!

They are comfortable from the start, unlike the classic original Docs with the hard leather that took forever to break in and left your feet and ankles blistered. This boot is a great punk boot without the pain!

I have been recommending Zappos.com to friends after my first experience with them. I was a tricky customer in that some of my check card information was not updated, and so my order could not be shipped out. Zappos let me know very quickly via e-mail and when I called customer service, they were EXTREMELY helpful and even over nighted the shoes (for free!!!) so they wouldn't take any longer. I probably got them even sooner than I should have, being that it was my mistake and all. Then they came, and my silly butt had ordered the wrong size. Soooo, customer service was spectacular once again in getting another pair shipped off the same day, and sent a free return UPS slip. Amazing, right? And since, I've worn my boots every day and they make my active lifestyle more comfortable....not to mention more sylish. Tee Hee. Kudos to Zappos!
