My eighty four year old mother, who is confined to a wheelchair, has massively swollen feet from circulatory problems. I couldn't find any shoes to fit her until I saw these. They can be easily adjusted because they are fastened with a very generous wrap that closes with velcro. They have a firm sole which she needs for doing transfers. Everything else is very soft and flexible. They are quite cozy and can be carefully hand washed, although they take a while to dry. (I haven't tried completely soaking them, just sort of spot washed them.) Really, this is the only thing I have found that works at all for her. I tried them on before I gave them to her and they were very comfortable. They are made of real materials and are well made, very high quality.

Great slippers! I just had foot surgery, and within a week I could wear these. It was great to be able to adjust them as the bandages and swelling went down. I now just use them as regular slippers, just wish they had a little more arch support.

Best slippers ever!
Can’t wait to come home & put these on. Or wake up & put these on. I wish they were shoes! Supportive, warm, & true to size-- & the price is incomparable. Not to mention they arrived in 1 day. Zappos is my favorite. Ever!

I personally think the shoe is horrible looking, probably because she wears them out everywhere, but she is sold on them for comfort. Thank you for being there for us.

Too Heavy -
This is a very comfortable slipper and well made. I bought it as I have a narrow foot and I thought I could adjust it with the velcro, but it is too heavy and fell off of my heel when walking. It also seems to run a little short. I always wear a 7.5 and my toes were a little over the edge in these that went up to 7.5.

I ordered these shoes for a friend of mine who has pancreatic cancer and her feet were badly swollen. They fit her perfectly and she was thrilled. She said they were the most comfortable shoes she had ever worn and was thrilled. Thank you for having the perfect shoe for a dear person that deserves the best of comfort right now.

I couldn't believe it. They actually came in one day!!! I am having foot surgery and after reading the reviews I decided to get these. You guys weren't kidding. They are so comfortable and not tight at all because I can adjust them, so they are feeling great on my problem foot. So they look a little sasquatchy...who cares...my comfort is all that counts right now! I love these shoes. Thanks Zappos!

I have written my review on this shoe but I forgot to add that I ordered these during the Christmas buying rush. I ordered them on Sunday and received them on Monday. Zappos really is powered by service! And Zappos is the best Internet shopping experience that I've ever had.

Great pet to own!
These shoes really are old friends. I've had them less than a month but they are always by my side and really do seem like a loyal pet. I normally have trouble getting a shoe onto my foot but this wrap style takes care of that perfectly. I wear them outside as well as inside and my feet are toasty everywhere. They're not the prettiest things in the world but neither is a beagle. Because of the thickness of the fluffy inside, I bought a size bigger than usual. I love them.

The Perfect Gift -
My elderly mother complained that her feet were always cold and it was so uncomfortable wearing shoes around the house. Unfortunately she has a very difficult time walking. Slip-ons were not an option because she wasn't very steady on her feet. These slippers were exactly the thing she needed. They are warm, comfortable, easy to put on and stable. Her wide foot was easily accommodated. So happy I found them.

Roomy!
I don't like the clunky sole - I can't curl up on the couch without it catching on everything, and the tip of my big toe sometimes gets cold with the open-toe styling. However, these are wonderfully comfortable and very accommodating for folks like me with problem feet. (My foot is squat and wide.) There is NO arch support, but I was able to put my orthotics in at the small sacrifice of having all that wonderful fuzzy beneath my feet. If Old Friend made a par like this with a leather sole and closed toe, I'd buy ten pairs!

Wonderful slippers!
I bought these slippers for my 93 year old grandmother. They are exactly what she needed. The velcro allows her to shape the slipper around her elderly, misshapen foot. The sheepskin is very warm. The sole is sturdy, non-slip, and protects her foot very well. A warning-- these might be a bit too clunky and rigid for someone in a different situation.

I LOVE this slipper!
I recently had foot surgery and needed a slipper that would be comfortable both when my foot is swollen and later when it's back to normal size. I have Uggs, but they were too snug. I ordered these Old Friends just to try them and am SO glad I did! They wrap securely around each foot, giving a custom fit that changes as easily as giving the velcro a tug. I thought they would look huge, but they really don't. They are warm, have lots of padding under the foot and can be worn outside. I thought I'd only use them while healing, but I'm a convert now.....they're my favorite slipper! Another good thing is that they can be snugged up and won't be loose unless I want them to be, unlike other slippers that often stretch. They are also reasonably priced compared to other fleece slippers. I give this one a 10+ out of 10!! And Zappos service, as always, was super fast. I'd HIGHLY recommend this slipper and Zappos!

Old lady shoes -
These were VERY comfortable but too wide. The size was right, but the heel was sliding up and down while I walked. They were easy to walk in. Just not for me.

Old ladies' friendly step-in (yes, that's what I said!) -
The speed with which the shoes arrived was amazing. However, while it’s not the prettiest slipper I own, it is comfortable except for problems noted below. For people with narrow heels, it's hard to make the slipper tight enough, but it can be done.

Walking On A Cloud -
Because of some temporary medical issues, I had seriously painful feet and had just about given up walking. Decided to try my old friend Zappos where I found the Old Friend's step ins. They have been wonderful. Very soft, yet with lots of support, and the velcro closure means I didn't have to put any pressure on my feet trying to get into these slippers. I have even worn them out and didn't get any funny looks. I will say these Old Friends aren't very stylish. But when you're hurting, who cares? Now I don't need to wear them, but still like to slip them on at the end of the day - so comforting!

Comfort may not look glamorous -
But these fuzzy friends are great. I live in FL and was afraid they would be too warm but I found my feet adapted very well and just felt supported. I have sensitive skin and these are great for protection that supports. I do have them strapped tightly as they felt a little loose.

Warm Fuzzies -
My Birkies are the shoes you will find me in most of the time but when you feet are COLD ... this is the slipper you want to sink your toes into. They felt warm and fuzzy and took care of the cold foot problem. I did find them a bit difficult to get on since bending and coordinated hand-movements can somedays be a problem. Also, I missed the convenience of just being able to slip them on and off without difficulty. The materials in the slipper are first rate. Being able to adjust the fit according to the days problems is helpful. I have heel spurs and did have to limit my wearing of the slippers. Okay, I'll admit they are on the ugly side but I've been brainwashed by my Birkies and will take comfort over style any day of the week. I do wish they had a clog style though.

Had recent foot surgery and these slippers were pure heaven. Like walking on a cloud. I recommend these for anyone with foot problems, swelling, etc. Wonderful!

For cold, diabetic feet it is the perfect slipper. Adjustable to the foot and made with shearling wool it’s a delight. Warm, comfy, no sweating and good traction for walking. 2nd pair bought. GREAT!

VERY well made slipper. A wee bit "clunky" but extremely comfortable! Have problem feet (swelling at times; nerve pain). You are given plenty room to adjust them. They are so very soft and warm and also offer support. Got them on the day of minor surgery on my foot and did they make a big difference in healing process! Am planning on buying another pair for "back up". Well worth the money
