Just what I needed -
I tried a variety of backpacks for my macbook pro, including one supposedly made just for that computer. This was the only one I found that actually held the laptop in the protective pocket, and allowed me to carry my books.

A pretty good backpack that has room for a laptop -
I've got a slew of bags recently for all occasions, and this one is for times when I need to carry my laptop and a whole bunch o stuff with room to spare. The build quality is alright. It's certainly not bad, but it's not above and beyond what's readily available either. I only have a 12" book, but the laptop sleeve looks to be able to handle 15". The padding is just fine here.
The music player/ eyeglass case pocket is roomy, and having said that, there's room in there for a couple more interior pockets, which would help for storing say an iPod and pda, or iPod and ear buds or whatever have you.
The two top exterior pockets are big enough to hold a cell phone or a small pda, the location is good for reaching back and grabbing what's in that pocket quickly. The bottom pockets are big enough to hold a large sunglass case or a medium sized wallet. The pockets themselves are bigger on the outside, but the shape is weird so that there's a lot of wasted space there.
There's a nice file pocket on the front of the bag that's sure to come in handy, and in the very front pocket is room for keys and odds and ends. Again, there are interior pockets in here, but none that will even hold a backup battery.
All-in-all these pockets are handy, but not the right size for actual laptop accessories. If you carry power cords, battery, and mice with you, think hard about what else you carry before getting this bag. If all the exterior pockets are taken up by your gadgets and wallet and such, there's no other place for batteries and mice, which is a shame because there's absolutely room in this bag for it.
On the other hand, the straps are comfy, but I cut away that silly chest strap. It's not too female friendly. The main compartment is also very roomy and will hold a weekend's worth of clothes or a ton of textbooks or what have you.
I think this bag is just a very nice backpack that happens to also carry a laptop. If that's the kind of bag you need, then you can't go wrong with this one. :)
