Perfect Comfort for Your Formal Event -
Purchased these shoes to accompany a new tuxedo I needed to buy for a recent black tie wedding. All I can say is WOW. For both looks and comfort these shoes are top notch. The wedding was almost 7 hours long in total and I was on my feet for a lot of it. This being the first time wearing these shoes I was a bit nervous, but they proved to be up to the task. The only down-side, if any, is the necessity of a show horn. All in all I highly recommend the Eminent by Bostonian.

Not the right fit -
I bought this shoe and had to return it. The style looked great, but the fit was not what I expected. The shoe felt narrow to me and I usually wear a medium width.

Rubs ankle but looks great; sole wears quickly -
The 2pod insoles make the shoes more comfortable than normal leather soled Bostonians. However, as other reviewers have noted, the sides are higher than normal and thus rub uncomfortably against my ankles. The solution is to either add an arch support (not ideal, as they tend to slide around) or replace the insoles with ones with a thicker heel piece, which will raise the back of the foot so that the sides no longer rub against the ankles. This proved to be the solution for me.
Also, the leather sole wears very quickly.
These have proven to be good looking but less than durable shoes.
I own other Bostonian models in 10 W. I am quite comfortable in a 9.5 W in this shoe.

The Eminent is a great shoe! It took about 1-2 full days to break in, but it is very comfortable.

The shoes arrived, unbelievably, the next day after I placed the order. They were in perfect condition, never tried on, sleek and shiny leather, as advertised. This pair was for my son, and I'll probably order the same shoe for my husband in the near future.

True to size. Only complaint is that my ankle rubs on outside of ridge of shoe. The color is great. Craftsmanship is excellent. Would buy this shoe again. Very comfortable.

Great shoes!
I was worried these shoes would be too tight/narrow for my husband, but he loves them. He said they are the most comfortable Bostonians he has owned-and that is pretty much all he buys. Great looking and comfortable.

Excellent shoe. Felt good out of the box with no break-in period needed. But I only wear them for church so I do not have them on for long periods of time; however, when I do have them on they are very comfortable. And Zappos service has been the best I have experienced over the internet.

Good looking but too narrow.
Like many dress shoes, it is very narrow. A larger size would be too loose overall, so I had to return them.

Very nice shoe -
I'm not sure you can get a better value for the money. I use these as an every day shoe for work and they've held up well. I've been asked a few times what brand they were. The brown color is a little creamy for me (I prefer a deeper brown), but acceptable nonetheless due to the tremendous value that they represent. Quite comfortable, I'll probably be ordering them in black as well.

Purchased these along with a pair of Kenneth Cole - Evan Plane. I had worn the KC's since June '06 and switched to these this month. I must say that I enjoy these shoes. I little snug but feels good, adequate padding, solid, and clean. I will enjoy these very much.

Great Shoes -
These shoes are great. They were comfortable right from the start, and the wide size provided plenty of room for my feet without looking like a huge shoe. These are very solid and stylish dress shoes. The material components are top notch, and the leather has a great shiny finish. I like everything about them. They were kind of squeaky and noisy at first, but that lasted maybe a day and a half. Zappos provided fast shipping and it was easy to return sizes that didn't fit. Zappos was also the only place to find this shoe in a wide size.
