A Little Clunky -
Stride Rite are great shoes. We always buy them. These are well-made, of course. They just seemed really heavy and a little clunky. Also, they seemed at least 1/2 size larger than marked.

My son's school requires white shoes as a part of the uniform. It's perfect. The width is not too narrow and it's a sturdy shoe. Stride Rite is always my preferred choice for kids growing feet.

Wide isn't wide.
My gut told me before I ordered these shoes that they wouldn't fit my son's wide feet, and they don't. He honestly has Fred Flintstone feet, so unless shoes are made a certain way, even wide ones don't fit. I think they look really nice and was disappointed that they won't work for us. Other than the width, I have no complaints.

Awesome fit, awesome shoes -
There is something to be said for going shopping in your pajamas and getting exactly what you ordered! Zappos is the bomb! This is about our sixth purchase and every box has come within two days of the ordering date. My son has a wide foot and these fit perfectly on him. Very true to size. We love these shoes and I'll buy them again when he outgrows this pair. Thanks Zappos.

School shoe for 5 year old -
My son is extremely hard on shoes. After six months, I bought a second pair. Thank goodness Zappos had the size we needed. It is difficult to find a wide width in a comfortable school (all black) boys shoe. This is one of the longer wearing shoes I've bought for him and as they are styled as a sneaker, he loves to wear them. Chances are in six months, or come September I'll buy him another pair!

Excellent shoe!
These are a great pair of sneakers. Love how they are all white and my 5 year old son says they are comfortable. They seem to run true to size and the velcro straps are plenty long to allow for good closure. This is the third pair I bought for both my son and daughter and they both love the sneakers.

Great everyday shoe!
These are very supportive, comfortable shoes. My daughter (age 3) wears them to preschool every day and can easily take them on and off by herself. She has also walked all over Disneyland wearing these shoes with no complaints whatsoever. Great shoes!

Stride Rite's Austin Hook & Loop -
My son grew up from 3 years old to 12 years old on Stride Rite's. Just bought him two new pairs, size 6 wide last month. He'll still wear them till he's 13 maybe 14.
We love the velcro straps which make it so much easier for him to open up and put on his shoe.

Nothing really that special -
Not sure how good or bad it is, but my son only wore it for 2 days and he switched back to his old shoes. We ordered a wide size, but I think it is smaller than usual. Maybe this is the reason he doesn't like it.

Shoe works great for my son -
My seven year old needs to wear all black or all white shoes to school for his uniform. This shoe felt the best of the 4 he tried on. He has a wide foot and this is one of the few wides in all black we could find. I think he’s getting too old for velcro shoes, but it wasn't worth fighting over. Very happy mom and son.

I always get these great shoes for my son. I like that they don't have laces and the straps are very practical. They are very durable and comfortable.

It is simply wonderful. True to size, fits perfectly. Easily cleaned and my grandson says it is comfortable. I certainly recommend this shoe and will continue to buy it as long as they have the size I need.

Great everyday shoe -
My daughter has a lot of difficulty finding a shoe that really feels comfortable all day long. She complains about sore feet with almost every shoe she wears except this one. I think her feet are on the wide side, but she has a very narrow heel and therefore her feet are hard to fit. We've been buying this shoe for school every year for 3 years now with no complaints. They are durable too.

Sporty "Middle of the Road" - Solid Shoe -
Hate tying & retying shoes for a 6 yr old? Yeah, I know, he should be able to tie them by himself... Well these are GREAT! Largest size of a velcro shoe around. They are durable and approved for his uniform at school and will wear into the summer months as a sporty shoe that doesn't look like a school uniform shoe.

Not much choice for wide feet -
We have purchased this shoe before because my son has wide feet and there is typically little choice in shoes for him. These shoes come in wide sizes. The problem is that they really wear out much quicker than I think they should. The last pair my son had wore through the soles before the leather upper was even starting to show wear. But we're pretty much stuck with the ever declining quality of Stride Rite shoes because of the availability of wide sizes. I say "ever declining" because Stride Rite used to make a quality product and still has that reputation, but I'm somewhat dissatisfied with the way these shoes wear.

Great shoe for my son with autism -
My son has autism and hates to wear shoes but this one he LOVED- smiled and stomped around in them as soon as he could get them on and he actually wears these so i got two pairs-- very comfortable for him and durable!

My eight year old is so busy; he doesn't have time to tie his shoes multiple times during the day. These shoes are hard to find in the larger sizes- I was so glad to find them.

This is a very sturdy utilitarian shoe which has served my very active 7 yr. old son quite well. The fit is true-makes a great school shoe (esp. when all white w/ no color is required).

Good sturdy shoe for a very active boy -
We bought this shoe in black for my son who is very hard on shoes. It is the second pair we have bought of this brand. The last one lasted 8 months before the velcro started separating. It doesn't have a lot of extras, but it is a good sturdy shoe that can take a lot of action and activity from an elementary age boy.

Super shoes! My grandson needed solid white tennis shoes for school so we bought these from Zappos last year for Kindergarten and now again this year for first grade. We liked this shoe because it is the required solid white, it has hook and loop fasteners, and Stride Rite is an excellent kids' shoe. Garrett loves his new shoes and says they are great for walking, running and jumping!
I have been buying my shoes from Zappos for several years now. It's gr-r-r-r-reat! Excellent selection, easy order, quick shipment, free shipping and return; what more could I wish for??

My almost 5 yo son needed "white soled" athletic shoes for kindergarten PE class and these where the only ones I found with velcro straps for convenience. Wasn't really keen on the idea of white shoes but pleasantly surprised. My son LOVES these shoes and has no problem putting them on to "practice for school". Can't go wrong!
