Great looking shoe! Surprisingly comfortable too! Only thing is it has a strong "tar" odor, that diminishes a little though as time goes by. Still worth buying!

I really love the classic style of these shoes; however, after having four different styles for over six months and trying every technique I could think of, I could not eliminate the heavy gasoline odor. The odor was so bad that people sitting next to me in conferences would comment on the smell. I have gone in several different shoes stores and I always check the smell of the ZENGARA shoes before I purchase them and I am sorry to say that they all have the same heavy odor of gasoline. I caution you to stay away from this brand until the manufacture addresses the odor issues.

As always, Zappos made sure that these great shoes made by Zengara came as quickly as possible. If you are to get this shoe, make for sure that you order 1/2 size smaller than your size is. Zappos is the only place to shop.

OMG, these things STINK! Someone asked me when I walked up today, "Do you smell gasoline?" No, that's my shoes. I left them outside with cedar shoe trees in them and I still have a headache after being at work all day. I think the rubber in the sole is soaked in gasoline. Don't go near open flames in these shoes!!!

These shoes feel as good as they look. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn in my 51 years of life. Maybe, I am getting older and more tolerate but, I don't think so, if anything I am getting more picky as I become more seasoned. As a health care faculty member teaching in a major university I am on my feet most of the time with students and residents. These shoes are so comfortable and stylish, I receive compliments on them all the time. Excellent job Zengara! The only problem I have with these shoes is finding my size, I grew up in pre-hormone food stuffs, so my feed are the normal size 8M :), most of the shoe stores in my area stock 9M>. Famous last words, this is one comfortable shoe! You may quote me on that.

Gift that really worked out -
My husband just loved these shoes, even though he hadn't even seen them until they arrived. I just loved the look, as did he, but then he tried them on and found them to be very comfortable for new shoes. He's still breaking them in, but is quite sure they'll go from a 4 to a 5 in no time.

Very stylish and comfortable shoe - just worried that the leather on top is going to look wrinkled too quickly. I've been wearing them for 1 month and they are no longer smooth - they are still looking nice, but for how much longer?

Order at least a 1/2 size smaller -
These shoes definitely run bigger than their listed size. The toe is also very wide compounding the size problem. Other than that I really like the shoe.

Love it, love it, love it!!!!
I was searching for the perfect dark brown dress shoe to wear to a wedding. This shoe fits the bill and then some!! I spent a whole day trying to break them in (a little tough on the feet after standing for 11+ hours). It's definitely NOT an everyday wear!! But I love the look! Great price for a great shoe. Zappos, kudos to you for a great find!! I am going to purchase the other 2 colors soon!!

I bought these for my husband and they are the most beautiful brown shoes I have seen. I gave them a 4 star for comfort simply because they are dress shoes and have no arch support. He wore them all day to work the first time he wore them with no discomfort.

Curiosity and the cat -
Curiosity and my wife's tastes led me to buy this pair. While the style reminds me of British "Mod" from the 70s, it's classy enough to wear in a business casual environment. The dark brown version is a very nice color. However, the online pictures do not illustrate how square these shoes are; looking down at your feet with these shoes on it looks like you are wearing a brick. So, the part I dislike most is the long squared toe design. It's not just the different appearance; it is also due to biomechanics. With their design the shoe is about two inches longer than needed and compared to traditional designs, the shoe makes you do the "duck walk." That's because during normal heel-to-toe foot movement the shoe makes it seem like your toes are missing! Have to laugh each time I stand up to walk. But, if you have long narrow feet with long narrow toes this shoe might offer a great fit, if you can figure out the correct size to order.
The best part is the shoes are comfortable (well, when not walking) and, while the picture suggests the shoe is hard formed, the leather is actually quite soft and supple across the top. That suppleness combined with the long, square goofy toe shape makes the shoe feel like they are at least a half size too big. After two wearings, I now need padded inserts to snug the fit and provide arch support in the right location. They'd be fine if I just didn't have to walk in them. No more long square toed shoes for me, Zappos; buy more tradition styles!
