Los Podres Trail Hiker -
I've had several top of the line Saloman, contragrip, low cut HARD Shell trail shoes over the years. They differ allot from this shoe which is more of a cushy, extremely comfy shoe. The inside (especially heel area) will wear out before sole does. Needs a loop in back of heel. Boots are better on the trail. I have used these on trail; however, they slip out from under you on steep grades. Good walkers.

Don't hold up -
I bought a pair of these just a few months ago and have only worn them walking around the neighborhood, the glue seam by the ball of my foot is separating on both shoes.

Odd and overpriced -
I've had this 'boot' over a year now. It stinks. Looks are deceiving; this is not a very rugged shoe. It's heavy. Fabric covers an internal frame which is a sieve for water. Buy something half the price and be three times happier. This 'boot' is one of my biggest regrets in my outerwear.

The best sneaker/shoe -
This is the best overall shoe I have ever owned. Its cool looking, fits perfect, is rugged and ages very well. My first pair has lasted longer than any other sneaker/shoe I have ever owned. The lace system is awesome. I'm a fan!

Can use some tweaking -
The shoe fits true to size, is comfortable and extremely waterproof. The lacing system is the weak link. The slide on the speed lace sticks and is frustrating; in just two weeks I was fed up enough to replace it with standard laces. The shoe could also use a pull on loop in the back. All this having been said, I would buy them again

I really want to love this shoe. They have great comfortable "3D" padding all around which (in theory) also increase breathability. The tongue opens very wide so sliding them on is as easy as putting on a slipper. The quick lacing system is much better than Merrel's bungee system (which is too elastic to be effective) and make you think twice before buying any shoe with standard laces. The softshell is impressively water resistant (but does breath only so-so...better than GTX but not as well as a completely non-membrane shoe). I also love their rugged-stylish look. All in all a shoe that is primed to be a hit. Alas the narrow cut kills it. The toe section is OK. But the arch area is just cut too darn narrow. It seems Salomon intended to use the narrowness of the shoe to provide arch support (hence the even flimsy the usual insoles). But the result is just pressure on your arch and heel. Use an after-market more rigid insoles and you are going to really feel it.

Best Walking Shoe I Ever Bought -
I am no longer a runner but walk briskly 5 miles a day. I have been wearing these shoes for six months and can't take them off. The comfort is unequalled by any shoe I have ever worn. They are extremely light, but the soles are rugged. The uppers breathe so even by the end of the day, my feet stay cool. Even though they are a little more pricey than my typical athletic shoe, I would rank them an excellent buy at the current price.

Expensive & Pretty But 3 Fatal Flaws -
This shoe looks good and has solid basic construction as well as an excellent contra-grip hiking sole. The outer shell is lightweight and sheds water like a rubber poncho. The problem is this is a premium-priced hiking shoe with low-budget details. First off, plan to buy a good quality insole with arch support and cushioning, because the flimsy Salomon insole is purely for decoration...worthless for hiking. Second, buy a set of shoelaces in case the wire-thin lace system blows out on the trail. Hard to believe that they couldn't put a bigger diameter on the lace that a) wouldn't slice into your flesh on your hands and b) start to pinch the top of your feet after an hour and c) wouldn't look so cheap and flimsy. Last, but certainly not least is the omission of a loop on the back of the shoe, with which to pull on (or off) the shoe. What other sport shoe leaves this off? Why did Salomon omit it on this shoe's design, but then have it on cheaper models in their own line? Sounds like a small issue, but just try to pull on these snug-fitting, well padded lined shoes with a pair of hiking socks without the loop. My wife had to sew a hook on so I can wear them. If you are into re-building your brand new shoes, these are for you. If not, hike to another model.

Salomon Fusion -
I've been wearing Salomon shoes for over seven years and I have to say I'm the least impressed with the Fusion. The shoes 3D Fit is its best attribute, it does provide added support around the ankle & top of the foot, which feels great! However, the "Seamless" wet-suit type design is lacking in total foot support & is NOT "high" water resistant. Just walking in grass with morning dew when walking the dog in the park gets your socks damp! The breathability factor is greater in even their XCR waterproof shoes. The weight of the shoe isn't significantly lighter than any of the other shoes Salomon offers either. Finally the breakthrough Quick fit lacing system of the Fusion, which gives Salomon the edge up on ALL outdoor shoes, utilizes the nylon eyelets taken from their Tech-amphibian shoes will not stand the test of time. Unless you are looking for a dry weather walking shoe or a comfortable office sneaker, this shoe isn't it. Salomon has a variety of other light weight, high activity, very durable, yet breathable, even waterproof shoes that are extremely stellar, and for equal or less money too! I think Salomon needs to go back to the lab on this one!

Salomon Fusion -
Living in Florida I am always on the lookout for a lightweight well ventilated shoe. The Fusion is the nearly perfect answer to this. The flexible 3D fit works very well. The shoe distributes the force of the laces over the entire foot. There were no noticeable pressure points from the lacing system.
The laces and locking mechanism tuck away nicely in a little velcro pouch. As a plus my Nike+ Ipod transmitter fit in the pouch also. So, why only four stars? The semi-orthotic insert is lacking. After receiving the Fusions in the mail I wore them around the office to get acclimated to them. After about a week of wearing them I went on a 6 mile hike with them. The terrain was level and mildly rolling. At the end of the hike my feet were hurting. I routinely go on weekend hikes of 10 miles or more. The only variable was the Salomons. I plan on trying them again, same conditions, except removing their insert and trying a set of my orthotics.

A great all around shoe -
I must admit I'm a bit of a shoe junkie...always looking for the perfect shoe, and this just might be it. I work in a tough environment, I'm on my feet most of the day and some days I wear jeans, other days I wear khakis if I have to meet with a customer. I really wanted a shoe that looked nice enough to wear with khakis, but didn't look overly fancy for jeans. Most of the comfortable hiking/walking/running shoes out there have weird yellow stripes or some other accent that makes them too casual for nicer clothing. These are just right.
As far as comfort, the single shell design means no edges inside to rub against your foot (a problem with another pair of Salomons I own), great cushioning and good support too. These are my new favorite every day shoe.

Got this shoe and right away it feels like a pair of second skin trail runners! Fantastic fit.
No seams inside the shoe! Quick lacing and the fit is ultra comfy!

 | | I ordered some sandals on Saturday and they showed up on Monday. They fit perfectly. The local store here carried this sandal but not the color I wanted and not in the size I needed. My wife said to check Zappos. My total purchase from you was cheaper than the store and I got the Sandal on Monday after ordering on Saturday. Unbelievable. You've made a long time customer in me. Just wanted to give you your props.
