Great sandal. I really like the straps, very easy! Sandal has good arch (could be a little better) support and is very comfortable. My only complaint would be that is it a little on the heavy side.

If I could wear them to work, I would!
This is my 2nd pair of Chacos, my first being the Z2 with the toe strap. I loved the Z2's and still wear them when I need more stability and assuredness, but the toe strap can get annoying. So, I ordered the Z1's and other than work or mowing the yard, I wear them constantly. Now Chaco needs to come up with a pair that has bike clips in the sole! Thanks for the speedy and free delivery Zappos!

My first Chaco purchase. Slightly awkward getting them on and off because of the web strapping system, but overall very pleased.

Great utility sandals, well worth the steep price -
Very comfortable. The straps don't chafe at all. I have a wide toe pad and very narrow heels that usually don't stay in heel straps, but these hug my entire foot very nicely. I even played some casual tennis in these! None of the negative comments I've read on here are an issue for me at all (heavy, too much arch).

Chaco is Tops -
Purchased my first pair of black Z1's in 2005 and are still going strong. Found the new color combinations to be cool so I purchased my second pair...absolutely love them. They are one of the best sandals for giving your feet great arch support. Recommended by many of the running stores. Well worth the money because they don't wear out!

It may not be as light but it sure is comfortable. The strap system is golden. Sturdy design and as always, great customer service. Highly recommended!

Had to size up -
Wandered into an outdoor store about 6 years ago and liked the looks and idea of these. They were close, but didn't cut it. My feet are fussy, so I sized up. I kept sizing up. When I got to an 11, everything was hitting in just the right spot. It looks a little long off the toe (technically I'm a 9-9.5), but the straps and the footbed are in exactly the right spots. I've tried Keens, never got Tevas to work, but these have been the bomb on trails, sand, stone, verticals, concrete, and bikes. I think they are simply the best footgear I've ever had.

Great sandal. The pronation of the shoe is one of its greatest attributes. Only wish there was a greater variety of types of shoes available from Chaco.

The Best Sandal -
I have worn Tevas for several years. Then I tried a pair of Z2's. They were slightly heavier than what I was used to, but made up for it in comfort and security on the foot. I had to send them in one time to get a worn strap replaced but they are still great. I bought a pair of Z1's only to add the option of wearing socks which is close to impossible on the Z2's. Literally, you can do anything in these.

Happy feet!
I wish Chaco made a winter shoe. I am so in love with these sandals that I would consider a wardrobe full. They are truly the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I wondered how just a few straps would support your foot, well I found out. The sole of this item is like a custom orthotic. As always, the Zappos service is superb.

Loved them -
These were the first pair of sandals (other than thongs) I've owned in years and couldn't be better. The arch support was intense at first, but my feet quickly got used to it.

Not for me -
I tried to like these but the comfort over time just wasn't there. In a men's 8, I guess my feet are wide, but the back strap support was right under my heel and the right foot front strap didn't hit my toe/foot in the right place. Ended up returning them.

CHACO Z/1 UNAWEEP -
Love these sandals! I have used Tevas for about 19 years. Their current designs have left me looking elsewhere for a great hiking sandal. This is it! Chaco’s offer a level of support, and customization that cannot be matched in a sport sandal. My feet feel better after wearing them! Thanks Zappos for once again proving you have the best service!

The only shoes -
I have three pairs of these shoes. They are the only shoes I wear unless it gets too cold (which is not much around here). In fact my feet have tan lines that match the shoes straps.

The best sandals ever -
Chaco’s are really tops in terms of style, comfort, durability. I wore my last pair of Unaweeps almost every day for 3 years. I could have got them resoled (and probably still will) but I wanted a new color.
I've worn all brands of sandals and these ones really stand out as the best.

Bought these for my dad, size 10Wide. He has gout in his foot and when it swells he can't fit in any of his shoes, this shoe was perfect and comfortable. Straps adjust and minimal coverage. He said he could barely even feel the shoe. Wonderful Chaco’s!

Such versatile sandals!
Just had my Z/1 Colorado's resoled with the Unaweep sole and they are perfect! The Unaweep sole has so much more tread and is overall more versatile. I've resoled about five pairs of Chaco’s now and it truly is the best way to get the most use out of your investment. And when you get bored with the webbing color, just reweb them as well. Super awesome sandals overall!!!

I bought these shoes for DH and DS (12). DH loves them. He wears them whenever he can and says they are the comfiest shoes he has worn (and he is a Keen guy). DS has a wide foot normally- so I ordered the wide version- in retrospect I should have ordered the regular width I think. These shoes are wide to begin with. The only issue would be the lack of a front adjustable strap- although I think that makes them more comfortable.

For Those of Us with Wide and Sweaty Feet, Here Is Our Sandal -
I am cursed with flat and wide feet that are perhaps a little sweatier than the average man’s. I have been searching high and low for a sandal that would accommodate me, and after reading some of the praises for the other Chaco sandals, I decided to pony up the $90 for the wide Z/1 Unaweep. I have not been disappointed. These sandals have turned out to be the best thing I have ever purchased for my feet. The straps are easily manipulated for a comfortable custom fit and when my feet do sweat, they don’t stink. Whatever magical anti-bacterial voodoo they have treated this sandal with really works. It took a couple of days to break them in properly, the first day being the only painful one. I will make sure my next pair of sandals are Chaco’s and that I buy them from Zappos.

Great Sandal -
This is the third pair of Chaco's I’ve bought over the last 5 years, and it is my favorite. I usually buy the toe loop model, and wanted to try something new. These shoes are comfortable, provide great support, and are extremely durable. I wore out the first pair island hoping, and beach combing.
Chaco's unparallel service keeps me returning pair after pair. I buy almost exclusively from Zappos. Keep up the good work.

I really like um. Very comfy and look good also. The only problem I had is they hurt my feet quite a bit more than other pairs when I was breaking them in. Great for hiking rivers and other amphibious activities

EUREKA!!! After coming down with a bad case of Plantar Fasciitis I did a lot of researching and testing out(New Balance, Birkentock, Crocs, Mephisto and MBTs). Chaco Z/1 shoes are Z-best for my feet. They are very supportive, built to last, comfy, airy etc. A bit heavy on the scale but provide a smooth walk out of the box. They felt a half size larger and true to width. The wide version does seem more supportive. So, if you have a wide foot(2E or more) go with the wide ones, no doubt. The strap system is not as challenging as some claimed, taking only a few tries to master. Also instructions on that are found on the box.

Best sandals in the world -
Every month I traverse more than 20 cities and travel over 4,000 kilometers through four different countries. I have been wearing my Chaco sandals EVERY DAY for the past two years. It is just now time to buy a new pair and I'd say I got my moneys worth. The only downside is the fraying at the front strap if you don't clear the sand out, but I've only replaced the straps once. Really Chaco’s are the best sandals out there!!! Buy a pair you won't regret it.
