I wasn't a big Birkenstock fan, I was just jealous. I didn't think they would ever fit my narrow foot, but then I saw they come in narrow! I bought them, wore them and love them.

The arch of the shoe is too far forward almost on the ball of the foot. They do wear in nice.

I could not fine my size in several stores. I wrote down the size and style and actually had to wait for Zappos to get my size in stock. I have had many pairs of Birks over the years. They are comfortable and they look good. They are perfect for the summer. They were a lot cheaper online than in stores. I feel like I got a really good deal.

Foot relief -
I bought this for my husband now that he's suffering from plantar fasciitis. A few years ago, I could barely walk due to the same condition; so I threw out all of my shoes and restocked with Birkenstocks and Danskos, and voila! I could walk! The instant my husband put on the sandal, he could stand and walk without severe pain. Of course, the podiatrist is in hearty agreement that Birkenstocks are the best shoe to wear regardless of foot pain. Neither my husband nor I found a need for a "break-in" period. We're both high-arched and this is the only shoe we've found that has an adequate arch for us.

Sandals for men -
Thanks so much for these sandals. It took several orders before I finally ordered Birko-Flor, and my husband was very pleased with the comfort and the fit. The adjustable straps provide further fit adjustment. We did have to order a size smaller than usual to get the fit.

These are cute shoes, but the leather straps are too high and hurt my ankle bones. I think Birks are cut for men, and we women wear smaller men's shoes. The upper is a very harsh leather that cuts the feet. Maybe a suede model would be more comfortable.

Birkenstocks are the most comfortable shoes on earth!
Comfy sandals that I wear everywhere, even during the cold winter months. These sandals are more comfortable than any other shoes I've worn; even more so than walking without shoes. I love Birki’s and have purchased several pairs over my lifetime. Phenomenal durability as well.

Very happy with the Birk Milanos -
I love the color, it fits wonderfully too. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I was concerned about rocks getting in the footbed and also the sole of the sandal not being strong enough to shield rocks that I randomly step on. Needless to say, no concern was necessary.
Very pleased and would buy them 100 times over.

My son loves his Birkenstock Milano’s.
My son received his sandals for his birthday. He put them on immediately and has worn them ever since. He really likes the color and the feel. He thought he would have to wear them a little at a time, but that was not necessary. They are very comfortable.

Birks + Zappos = Happiness -
I love Birkenstocks because of the comfort and arch support. I have been wearing the Milano style for over 13 years now and find them to be the most comfortable day-to-day shoes.
This aside, I was a tad dubious on switching to the new Birko-Flor uppers. All of my previous Milano's were leather uppers. After wearing them extensively for the past two weeks, including walking several miles almost immediately in them up in Portland, Oregon, I must say they are comfortable. The leather uppers take awhile to break in; however, these uppers feel comfortable right away. The only downside is they can be a tad hot. Leather uppers tend to breathe a bit more--these, with a felt-like material on the inside, seem to trap the heat more. In addition, I hope the uppers last as long as my previous leather uppers. Basically, I wore out my soles on my previous Birks--the leather never wore out.
If this is your first pair of Birks, go for it! The price is great, quite a bit cheaper than the leather uppers, and are more comfortable initially.

Awesome Sandals -
They are hard to wear for the first two weeks, but after that they break in, they kind of mold to the shape of your foot. Every day they get a little bit more comfortable. I wear these shoes in every type of weather, they’re that comfortable. All other sandals are inferior to Birkenstocks.

Flat-footed happiness at a great price!!
I've always had extraordinarily flat feet, and have not worn orthotic shoes for quite a long time. I needed some new sandals and figured instead of dropping $40 this summer for 1-year sandals that I would invest in a pair of Birks. I knew they were a very different shoe than the flats I have gotten used to.
Before I bought this from Zappos, I went to a nearby Birkenstock retailer to try on the shoe. Based on everything I'd read, I thought for sure I would be a 43 Regular... but the footbed was simply too big when I tried them on. Even with all three straps on the tightest stops, 43 was too big. I've never fit a 9-9.5 shoe before (I usually wear 10.5 in dress shoes and 11 in athletic shoes), but the 42 Regular was the perfect size. Toe bar and heel cup fit exactly to my physiology. Straps fit best if I tighten them all the way down, but that's also because I have a very flat foot.
The Birko-Flor material is excellent... while the leather uppers were very comfy from my in-store evaluation; the Birko-Flor is still very soft on my feet. They look exactly like smooth brown leather, and feel fabric-soft on the inside, kinda between jersey-knit cotton and felt. I don't feel like this is a compromise on quality, although I believe that the Birko-Flor uppers might not last as legendarily long as leather Birks. Time shall tell, but I have no reservations about the longevity of the Birko-Flor.
I also tried the soft soles versus the standard hard-leather soles -- I couldn't really justify the expense of getting the soft soles. Plus, I was worried that the soft soles would absorb more odor and funk.
The high arches in the footbed still irritate my foot, but this is my first day wearing an orthotic support in nearly 10 years. I rated the 5-star comfort thinking that my feet would get used to the support of Birks.

"Feels Good on Ya"
Ordered the wrong size (I wear a 10, but ignored the warnings about the mis-sizings). The shoes take a while to get used to. I had some blisters from walking in them the first day, but after they healed my feet never have felt better. I will never wear another brand of sandals.

Too hard -
Although many folks swear by these sandals, my foot bed is too hard to accommodate a hard shoe. I'm returning these as they didn't work for me. I would highly recommend the "Birkenstock" version of sandals by SAS. They are phenomenal and gently yet firmly support my feet. I spent 4 days at Disney world wearing only the SAS sandals and lived to tell about it.

I love the look of these Birkenstock Shoes! It does take a while to become accustomed to the floor of the shoe not being "smooth" like other shoes. When I am accustomed to that part...I know I will really enjoy this clog. Thank you for selling such a good quality shoe!

Great for troubled feet!!
I have been having heel problems and the doctor recommended Birkenstocks as well as some other brands. These take the pain away the second I put them on and I can wear them all day at school. They are not the most attractive shoes, and I hope to find others that will feel great and look dressier, but for now I am so grateful. Zappos is the best on-line company I have dealt with!!

Looks good feels great -
All the hype about Birkenstock is righteous. I live in my sandals (360/365 days a year). I have tried many a brand and NEVER have I been more satisfied than with these. This sandal offers support and comfort: often promised but rarely delivered by sandals. Allow a half size up from your regular size as I found these a little on the small side. Fortunately they shape to your foot and where my toes are a little long the sole has softened up to accommodate. First time buying on Zappos and I never see myself entering another shoe store; thought the world of their service!

Here is a quick breakdown… The site is very easy to navigate and has all the information I need to make my purchasing decision(s). You seem to have the relationship between the warehouse and the customer information synced very well. Please, buy the design/coding team a round on me! The automated emails after purchase are immediate and very useful. This part gives me a little reassurance that my order has been received and is in motion. The products arrive very quickly and in new & branded boxes. Not only is this professional on the appearance level, but I'm sure it also helps when rolling around in the back of a delivery truck. If there is any discussion about changing to a "lesser" quality box, stop right now. The way you have it now is great! I had to make an exchange for a different shoe size and the process was painless and super-simple (is that a recognized phrase?) - and now for the biggest one of all… Customer Service. One word describes Zappos customer service, and that word is excellent!!! You are not aware, as we have just met, that I am probably your biggest test when it comes to customer service and both times I have shopped here you leave no room for bad argument. Thank you, thank you, thank you... I find customer service in this country to be so poor these days that I find it hard to shop anywhere without purchasing with a scowl on my face. Please do not change a thing (like sending customer service to another country or hiring an "economical" CS team full of people who are not able to effectively communicate, etc.). Bottom line is that your model (from customer point-of-view) is excellent and well rounded in every department that I have dealt with. Please, the next round of pitchers is on me as well for this department. Garlic fries anyone? Apologies for writing a novel, but I feel it necessary to praise a company when things are done well.
