Nice looking dress shoe; beautiful fit. Except that it is cut extraordinarily high on the inside and the edge cuts into my ankle bone when I walk. I will have to work the leather a bit to make it softer at those points. I have narrow feet and am hard to fit. This shoe was built with a combination last 12B/AA which is perfect for me but hard to find. Good points far outweigh the one bad point about this shoe.

Great looking, fitting, comfortable shoe -
I have a short, wide foot with high instep. Very difficult to find shoes that fit. This pair was my 4th attempt at finding shoes for my wedding, online (real stores just don't carry anything less than size 8). The 6.5 EEE was a perfect, comfortable fit. They weren't patent leather, but they still looked great and will have far better utility in the long run. They are quality shoes and after a couple of short break in sessions, wearing them around the house, they handled all the walking in Vegas without pain.

Where is the cap toe?
Fit and feel is great, but I have one- very major- beef with the Hyde Park... Where is the cap on these shoes? It is a line of stitching where the cap piece would be attached but is not an actual extra piece of leather? What gives J&M? The model a step down and the model a step up have actual caps, but not this one? Very strange.

Excellent shoe, very comfortable but shocked at the fact that the sole wore out (a 1" hole in the front) in under 4 months of less than 3/4 mi per day of city walking! They are replacing the sole at their expense, but I am quite surprised that this could happen on their product. (Unsure if it was a qualified/educated statement but the salesman at the store where I bought it at told me "This shoe is not designed for wearing daily, that’s why it happened!!!")

Comfortable out of the box -
I got this shoe for a battery of interviews, and it got to me less than 24 hours prior to the first one. I was a bit apprehensive of breaking it in at an interview, but I thought that it would work, and it did. Great buy, I'm looking forward for my next Johnston & Murphy, which will likely happen because I want something different before this one needs to be replaced.

All of my J&M's are my favorite...comfort! Comfort! Comfort! Even when compared to Aldens, Allen Edmonds and a few Bruno Magli, I find myself in my Coozy J&M's more than the other guyz...

This is the 4th pair of Johnston & Murphy shoes I have owned. J&M makes great shoes that are incredibly comfortable and this shoe is no different. The shoe looks great and is very comfortable right out of the box. It is the perfect black shoe to complement any look.
