What a disappointment! Not Zappos, but the changes that Brooks has made to the Addiction line. Do not buy these shoes if you loved Addiction 6 or less. I've worn the Addiction for many years and absolutely loved them. I've owned at least 12 pair. I have permanently broken sesamoids in both feet. All of the Addictions prior to 7 were so amazingly comfortable that I wore all the time because they were more comfortable than going barefoot. Since Brooks changed the support system, the shoes feel hard, less shock absorbent and very uncomfortable. Brooks, bring back the old style!

I am a moderate to severe over pronator and these shoes are the best out there. I've got about 40 miles on them so far, and they have been great every step of the way. This is my 3rd pair of Brooks Adrenaline shoes and there have been some nice enhancements with this pair. I believe they give you a little more forward motion when running. This is a great shoe.

These are fantastic shoes! I wear Asics, and to compare the two, The Launch shoes are not bulky at all. They are very lightweight and I just love running in them. It feels like I am running on a cloud. The Asics which I work out in, feel much heavier and bulkier. The netting on the Launch just wraps around my foot, offering support but not limiting movement. The cushioning is just superb. I have flat feet and pronate and I have no problems. I am a 5k runner. I hope this helps for anyone interested.

I really like my new Brooks Addiction Walkers. They are a bit more snug than my old Brooks Addiction Walkers, but yet are comfortable and nice to walk in. My old Walkers were black, but my new ones are bone color. I like the bone color so much better. The nicest things about getting these Walkers from Zappos was the fast, convenient, and professional service. They really know what they are talking about when assisting with an order. A person can order with confidence in being pleased. I do recommend Zappos for excellent products and service.

from Florida Overall Rating:
I've been a Brooks fan for years; however, when one store I'd been buying from suddenly didn't carry Brooks I went to another where I found I'd been wearing the wrong 'type' shoe after their analysis. Ended up with another brand that caused problems & decided to look online for a neutral from a reputable company & found Zappos. Glycerin 7 has been a life saver for the damage caused by the other brand as well as giving me great comfort on my 40-50 miles a week walks. I don't want to take them off! Had to stand for 3 hours doing food prep the other day where I usually end up with back muscle spasm, but not that day as I was wearing my Glycerins. They let me realize just how flimsy & bad all my other shoes really are as far as supporting the foot correctly. Wish Brooks made house slippers with this kind of support; my feet would probably never be out of a Brooks except for sleeping if they ever made slippers. Love my Glycerin 7s!

The shoes were perfect. I chose them from a article in Runner's World. I can never find my size at the stores and can always find it on Zappos. Their website is easy to use and I find what I am looking for. They send out the shoes in a day. They offer a guarantee, which I have never used because I am happy with my purchase. I would recommend Zappos to all of my friends and family.

This is quite simply, the perfect shoe for the over pronator. I've been running in the Brooks Beast for over 20 years (on road, trails, sand, snow, etc.) and there's nothing that even compares to it. If you've never tried a pair before and your an over pronator, give them a try. You won't be sorry.

I bought this shoe after the second pair of soft spots cracked the sole after little use. I find these shoes to be made of better materials. They are more stable on the foot and more comfortable to wear. They are much better looking.

from Highland Park, NJ Overall Rating:
I'm very happy with these shoes. They are lightweight, very comfortable, and have a little nerd-chic going for them. As a grad student, I walk to and from school (3 miles round trip), and have spent days walking around NYC very comfortably. The velcro makes them super easy to get on and off. The soles are thick enough that even if the ground is freezing cold, my feet are not. They fit me perfectly, but my feet are a little wide, so may not be the best for narrow feet. The one thing I've noticed that probably won't be the best when the weather is warm again is that they don't really breathe.

 Brooks Addiction 8 | Brooks Addiction 8 2009-12-18 12:39:45
Reviewer:Bill W
from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan Overall Rating:
I purchased the Addiction 8 size 9.5B based on internet research which indicated it to be narrower and significantly less volume, especially in the toebox area (where the toes are), than the previous version Addiction 7. For the past year I've worn the Addiction 7 size 9.5D. It always felt much too roomy. When I received the Addiction 8 size 9.5B, I found it to be so tight, I could barely get my feet into it. What a huge size/design change! Manufacturers should be more consistent fit-wise year to year for the same line of shoe. So through the friendly Zappos service rep., I requested a replacement Addiction 8 size 9.5D. It was sent to me incredibly fast, within 3 days. No hassles with Zappos (I'm likely not the first to say this). The new Addiction 8 size 9.5D fit so much better, having properly (for me at least) much less volume in the box area than the Addiction 7 size 9.5D. I do wonder, however, if perhaps I should have gone with a size 10. My toes hit the front end at times when I change directions abruptly, such as when I play with my dog. When I run my typical 20 miles per week, however, I feel fine. I would have no reservations buying another pair of Addiction 8, but would likely choose between a size 10D or 10B.

These shoes are very nice and comfortable. It took me awhile to get use to the shoes but it was well worth the wait. I run at least 3 miles and my muscles and joints are not as tired as they usually are with normal running shoes. I strongly recommend these shoes to anyone that wants to start running. To give you an idea I'm 250 pounds and 6 feet tall. I enjoy the shoes and I plan to buy more when these give out.

These shoes are amazing, and I have found them to be better in terms of sturdiness than New Balance. I wear a 10.5, so I am grateful they come in that size. They're perfect. I'm flat-footed and with my orthotics, they're great! Love this shoe!

I'm a woman with bunions and have had difficulty finding woman's shoes that were wide enough to be comfortable. I've been wearing this shoe for about a month and it has helped reduce my foot pain. It is true to size and width. It is very comfortable and provides good traction and stability. This is an excellent shoe.

These shoes have the stiffness features recommended by my podiatrist. They are also comfortably wide enough for my foot. They don't crowd my foot and are easy to clean. I own both the lace up and velcro models. I prefer the lace up, but I like the velcro better than I ever thought I could like a velcro shoe. They meet the dress code for my work as a nurse being essentially all white.

from Massachusetts Overall Rating:
I don't love them. I bought these because I was going through my Mizunos too fast. I am just over 100 lbs and should be getting more than 250 miles out of running shoes. The Brooks Glycerin were supposed to be a lightweight cushioned shoe. I found these to be too bulky, but assumed that was because they were more cushioned than what I was used to. However, I get hot spots on the balls of my feet even on a run as short as 6 miles. Won't buy these again.

 Brooks Ravenna | Brooks Ravenna 2009-12-14 16:00:38
Reviewer:Evan T
from Ohio Overall Rating:
Let me begin by saying I tried on 4 different brands and 5 different shoes before deciding on the Brooks Ravenna. I have run in Nike for as long as I can remember, but a running buddy of mine (who's way more of a runner than I am, see: he runs like 10 miles for a fun run, and I typically run 4 miles) suggested I try Brooks. It's a brilliant neutral shoe that fit like a glove from the moment I tried it on and took it for a test run on the treadmill in the store where I purchased them. What I love best about the Ravennas are they are lightweight yet provide the support I need (I don't exactly glide like a gazelle) and the fit is exceptional. My old Nikes treated me quite well, but they busted out on me and my knees started to ache and shin splints made it impossible to go longer than a mile. These were the perfect cure as I busted out 4.2 miles in the best time I've run in months. I think Brooks and I are going to have a great running relationship together. I'm happy with the quality I got for the money.
