These are very comfy shoes. I don't know what the difference is compared to scores of other shoes in basically the same style, but these are comfortable and the others are not. I love the coral color, and they are a little more stylish than the average sport sandal. I bought these because I had a small broken bone on the outside edge of my foot. So many shoes have a ridge there that hurts, and these don't. In addition the soles are well cushioned and the straps are padded and grip my foot like a glove, not too tight or too loose. I wear them loose to avoid hurting the sore spot, and they stay on just fine and don't slip around. The price is higher than I want to pay, but they are worth it. I buy so many shoes that are only marginally comfortable. I would pay this much again to have as much comfort and style. I buy a lot of shoes that turn out to not be comfortable. It's better to buy fewer shoes, but have them all wearable.

Fantastic dressy sneakers. Perfect for walking miles and miles, no pain or discomfort. I wore them out of the box and walked 4 miles in them all over the city the very first time. They are very nice and dressy looking, but give you total comfort like a broken in pair of old sneakers. Nice roomy fit, roomy toebox. I usually wear a size 9/ 39 in Mephisto sandals (which are normally only available in full sizes), but in these, size 8.5 is a perfect fit and 9 is way too big. I have noticed the same with other Mephisto shoes as well. I have to go with 8.5 for shoes, but 9 for sandals.

These shoes are very good for traveling. I am very sorry they have discontinued this particular combination of b&w patent and fabric, as I would purchase another pair if possible. A clerk in a shoe store said she suggests this shoe to everyone for traveling. We have just returned from a 2-week trip to the Northwest, and I would totally agree with that recommendation. With my arch I can really only wear Chacos, but they have stopped making enclosed shoes, and I needed something to wear in the rain. I purchased some ball-of-foot cushions (at Walmart!) and placed them in the arch to get it high enough for my feet. (It is already higher than most, but not sufficient for my extremely high arch.) It worked very well. I am going to purchase more colors.

I do believe this had to have been the most uncomfortable shoe I've ever put on my foot. The material was stiff, the footbed had no cushion, the rubber sole was hard and there was a strange odor not smelling like a new pair of shoes. There was a poor effort to tape the flattened lid on the shoebox and old tissue was stuffed in the toes of the shoes. I spend a lot of money with Zappos and did not appreciate the condition of obviously someone else's return! However, customer service is still unbeatable and I received the Josef Seibel's the next day to replace these yard sale shoes. If the lid is taped with several layers of scotch tape and the shoes smell, then that's the pair they sent me!

Love these shoes. Went on Bing.com about the best shoes to wear when standing all day. So glad I did! Mephisto was listed as one of the best brands. I received my shoes in one day. Love Zappos speedy delivery. Wore my shoes for the first time today. Stood all day at my job as a bank teller and today was the first day in years I didn't feel like crying from the pain in my feet. I received so many compliments on my Mephisto Nineties, too. This is the first of many purchases to come for Mephisto shoes. Thank you Zappos.

These shoes are very comfortable and they look nice. I ordered them at the last moment just before I was leaving for a trip to Scotland, where I knew I\'d be doing a lot of walking. If I\'d ordered them sooner, I would have returned them and gotten a half size smaller, because the shoes are a little too big, lengthwise. However, they don\'t slip and are excellent for clambering around damp paths, plus my feet don\'t slide forward when going downhill, etc., so all in all, I\'m very pleased.

Planning a 3 week trip to Europe, lots of walking. These shoes not only adjust across the top of the foot but also at the heel. Should be no reason to experience any discomfort when walking long distances. I did order true to size and will be wearing a fairly heavy sock.

I walk my dog 60 to 90 minutes a day, every day, snow or shine and needed good winter walking boots. Bought these Mephisto Allrounder's 2 years ago (2007) at full price and loved them so much I'm happy to find they are still on the market and at Zappos, so the price is great! For me size was true to standard, because they are soft fit my slightly wider feet perfectly, and no problem with my somewhat high arches. Best of all they are so light; no big heavy winter boots and so easy to pull on and off. I walked hundreds of snow miles in these and am back for another pair!

Great comfort and look -
This is my first pair of Mephistos. After trying them on in a shoe store, I found that this shoe definitely runs 1/2 size larger than normal. For a perfectly wonderful, comfortable, supportive shoe for someone like me with a few issues, mainly arthritis of the knee, these are great!!!! Zappos delivered these in less than 24 hours, so who could ask for more!!!!!

I have had serious problems with my feet (corns, bunions) and could not find any shoes that would fit properly and not put stress on the "sore spots", until I tried these. Am so pleased with them that I am planning to buy several more pairs in other colors. Other reviews have said they run large; that might be true if you go sock-less or wear thin socks. I got these in my true size, put on a medium-weight sock, and they fit like a glove right out of the box. They also fit beautifully with a heavier-weight sock (I wear those when I go for my long walks, which I can do again thanks to Mephisto!).

Fantastic shoe. Very comfortable with adjustable fit. Plenty of support. Really cute. Plan to wear it during an upcoming trip to China. Will do lots of walking. Have been wearing it a lot to make sure it\'s good for heavy-duty touring. Now have it in 3 different colors. The red is especially cute!

I love these sandals! The shoe is so comfortable. The size did not run true so it took three trials before I found one that fit. I am not sure what is up with that. I loved, loved, loved working with the people at Zappos.com. I will be ordering again from them real soon!

\r\nI bought this pair in person from the Mephisto shoe store in Paris. Both the black and brown pairs are gorgeous - i bought the black because they did not have the brown in my size. These are extremely comfortable. I wore them the next day, brand new and straight out of the box, for almost 10 hours of constant walking all over paris and I never felt any pain, discomfort or fatigue in my feet. In fact, we were walking around in a group of almost 15 people, and I was alwas the one way up front, walking the fastest most comfortably! I wear an 8.5 in this shoe - I usually wear a 9 in Mephisto sandals but i guess they have half sizes in these shoes for a reason! My feet tend to be right on the verge of medium and wide, but these are comfortable for me.

This pair is very well made, and looks lot better in person than the pix. I really wanted to keep this but ended up returning them. The footbed is extremely comfortable. But unfortunately the flap of leather under the laces between the two sides (the tongue?? not sure what its called) tends to dig into the top of my foot. Only times it did not bother me was when I had very thick socks on. I tried on the same pair in the Mephisto store in paris and same issue, so it was not a defect in the particular shoes shipped to me but rather the design. It did not work for me, even though the rest of the shoe was beautiful and super comfortable. Very disappointing for a Mephisto - but zappos service was great as usual.

Great shoe. I'm a 6.5 - 7 (and usually order a 7), but i went with the 6.5 based on reviews. It's definitely the right size for me in this shoe. Good support. I've worn around town, on hiking trails and touristing around Europe. Always comfortable and sturdy enough. I have the sand and camo combo and it's a terrific neutral. I just ordered a second pair.

This shoe is all leather and can be slightly stretched if need be to get a better fit. The shoe is well named with the cushioned sole and its tough exterior it performs well on city streets and back country rocks. Word to the company, add a size 'D' American feet are getting longer and wider.

This is a very good looking shoe. It's not too stiff, but the shoe is extremely supportive and rugged for light hiking. I would say the shoe is pretty true to size - I usually take a size 40 and the length/width worked well for my medium/narrow feet. The only problem I had with the shoe - and it's not unique to this shoe - was the tongue. The tongue is thick and its right and left corners dug into the bony top part of my feet. I was not able to alleviate the discomfort with mid-weight hiking socks. I had a similar problem with the Merrell Siren GTX light hikers. It might have to do with the gore-tex material, not sure. In any case, I had to return these and the Merrells, and am still looking. Perhaps those with less bony feet won't experience this discomfort.

I love Mephistos. All-Rounders are lightweight (I love this), flexible (and I love this), allow my feet to breathe and keep contact with the ground. They're lasting pretty long, considering the hiking I've used them for. Worth the price.

I love these shoes! They are really comfortable, and as an added bonus, they are cute. My only problem has been fit. (This is not unusual for me.) They are now listing a half size which I found fits me better. Which is the "beauty" of Zappos. I can order two sizes, and send back the one that doesn't fit.

I have semi-wide feet and usually have trouble with blisters on my heels as well as trouble with pinky toe placement. These sandals have been amazing since day one. They needed no break in time at all and they look fantastic! I live in Manhattan, so I\'m always on the look out for comfortable nice looking sandals. These definitely fit the bill. Also, the price is not outrageous for Mephisto. I highly recommend these sandals if you are looking for a good walking sandal.

These sandals are comfortable enough, although I did have to exchange the size 38 to a 39. I like the velcro adjustment on the strap and the fact that the insoles can be washed. These were perfect shoes for my recent trip to Australia, especially for beach walking and wading around the islands in the Great Barrier Reef.

These are definitely very good looking shoes, and they look very well made. But I am thinking of returning them. The "anatomically correct footbed" does not really have much arch support, so that's a problem. The insole to me looks no different than what you typically get with any regular pair of sneakers, and I was expecting something with more contouring and support/cushion. I have another pair of Mephisto Allrounders (the Clipper sandals) that don't have much arch support either, but those were incredibly comfortable from the very first time I put them on. There was no such 'aha' moment with this pair. These felt comfortable, but not super comfortable. I don't have confidence that after hours of walking, my arch won't hurt in these, because that tends to happen to me sometimes. Also the leather is a little stiff, though it probably would soften with time. I was looking for a pair of walking shoes for an upcoming Paris trip, and I will keep looking. Zappos service, as usual, was perfect.

I love these shoes. They feel like a sneaker, but look a bit dressier. I have them in 5 colors! Every season I see what new colors they come out with and order one. I wear them all day long without any problems. They fit true to size. They're not narrow and give your toes room.
