Lakai has been built around grass roots tradition since day one. In 1993, Mike Carroll and Rick Howard thought they might have a better formula for a skateboard company--- one that made products the team would be proud of and kept an atmosphere that was supportive and motivating. While it was a risk, they felt like they owed it to skateboarding and skateboarders to take that risk. These shoes do look really sick. I got mine last night and I like them a lot. The only problem was that they feel a little bit bigger then they say. I ordered a 9 and they felt a little bigger then that. I tried skating them and the board feel was ok and the flips will be good if you break the shoe in. Overall a pretty good shoe.

Awesome shoe all around! If you think this shoe looks good on the screen, it looks better in real life. And one thing I would like to brag on is the excellent arch support makes the shoe very comfortable.

AWESOME!!
I just got these and then went out and skated for about 4 hours. They are the grippiest shoes I have ever skated! I landed a switch tre second try! I got the black leather ones at Bob's, and they hardly even have any scuff marks or anything on them! I love these, except they are a little stiff when you first get them, and the insole is a little bit firm. Both of these cons can easily be altered. Buy these!! Great shoes for skating!

It's a good shoe. I had never owned a pair of the Carroll Selects, but I bought them anyways because of the colorway and when I tried them on, they felt like Half-Cabs. They have really good board feel, and are fairly cushiony, but I added another insole since I skate stairs more than anything else. If you like Half-Cabs or the Jerry Hsu Emericas, buy these. You definitely won't be disappointed.

Lakai MJ Selects are great -
These shoes flow with the design of your foot and cover the arch in your foot which is hard to get used to the first day but becomes appreciated. The sole is amazing for people who skate stairs after falling down 8 stairs onto your feet... NO PAIN! Great shoe must buy!

I love these shoes soooo much. I just got them after owning a pair of WWCD Howard highs and those were great too. I strongly recommend Lakai high tops because they are very durable and are great kick flip shoes. Nice job Lakai. Be sure to order at least a size smaller. These run a bit big.

Good shoe for skating and they're comfortable. They have really good ankle support, but I’ve only had them for a short time and I don’t know how long they’re going to last. Overall I think if you want them you should just buy them – they’re worth it.

Awesome - I ordered these shoes on Saturday and I received them on Monday. Then when I got the shoes I wasn't disappointed at all, unlike with my other shoes. But if you choose to order these shoes get a size bigger than what you usually wear.

Great shoes! Great service! I ordered these shoes on Sunday of this week and am wearing them now, it is Tuesday (got them about 4pm today!) I selected the free shipping, but they upgraded to faster shipping, and I am a very satisfied customer who will be doing business with them for a long time! I don't know where to begin with the shoes, just look at them in the larger view and tell me that they aren't the coolest looking shoes in the whole Lakai summer collection! They come with 2 sets of laces one white, one black and they have a place to hold your shoe laces if you are like me and are not about tying! Kind of expensive, so I wouldn't skate in them, but Lakai definitely knows how to make a shoe that lasts, this is my third pair of Lakai shoes and I still have all 3 with no problems! Lakai and Zappos get 2 thumbs up!!!

These were great shoes. First few hours they are stiff, but that's because they’re new. Great feel and padding. The vulc wears away kind of fast though, but other than that they’re awesome.

The Lakai Coda Strike Force are okay skate shoes. The vulcanizing isn't that good. They sort of waste fast...Another problem is that the leather gets messed up fast but other than that they are alright. The good thing is that I got them the next day I delivered them from Zappos.

Another excellent shoe from Lakai. I have the brown Nubuck; the shoes are 100% true to size (though if you've been wearing Vans, they might feel 1/2 size too big because Vans makes their shoes too small). The Nubuck lasts, and breaks in wonderfully. The soles have lasted far longer than other brands I've skated (having started skating 30 years ago, I've skated a lot of shoes!).

Great Shoes!
I have the Indy collaboration shoes and for shoes with a vulcanized sole, these are great! They're 100% true to size (Vans has been making their shoes 1/2 size too small for about 10 years which I think is why so many reviewers rate these as 1/2 size too big). The shoes don't feel thin or flimsy like regular vulcanized shoes (I've skated for nearly 30 years, so I'd know). They offer good support, decent comfort and are made from very good materials.

Yeah, this shoe just arrived today but order it a half size larger. The looks are great though. And just so you know, it seems like a pretty thin shoe, so if you’re gonna skate this shoe, I wouldn’t buy it. Good for casual/school n such.

Pretty good...
Well I got these and expected better, they were very comfortable but because of that, unfortunately wore down fast. Not a strong shoe, so don't expect to rely on it with big sets of stairs (7, 8, 10). In all they were pretty good, all Lakai’s are good.
