Roper is the largest manufacturer of both footwear and apparel within the western industry. The company’s casual clothing and footwear for men, women and children are sold exclusively through western retailers across the United States in more than 2,000 stores. Roper's vision for growth can be traced all the way back to the young man who founded the company 59 years ago. Fresh from the service to his country during World War II, Sam Mandelbaum returned to work in production and merchandising at Miller Western Wear. In 1948, after being overlooked for a promotion, Mandelbaum decided to strike out on his own. With enthusiasm, his knowledge of the Western wear industry, and dedicated work ethic, Mandelbaum, with the financial backing of Jack Karsh, opened Karman Inc.
In recognition of a lifetime of contributions to the industry, Sam Mandelbaum’s peers named him to the Western Image Awards Hall of Fame in August of 2003. The leadership of Karman Inc. is now in the hands of Sam’s son, Gary Mandelbaum. Gary shares his father’s vision for growth and continues to make the corporation successful. Karman Inc. is unique in the industry of being one of the only Western apparel and footwear manufacturers and distributors for Roper brands. In January of 1986 under the design leadership of Nancy Leavitt, the company launched the Roper brand with a big splash at the Denver market. Acceptance for the brand was immediate from retailers and consumers alike. A few short years later in 1993, Roper again broke the mold when it introduced its own line of footwear called Horseshoes, unique hybrid combining tennis shoes with boots. Roper managed to create a new niche in the footwear market. Today, the footwear category accounts for about 40 percent of Roper’s total sales volume.

Love The Bling -
Too cute and I love the bling. They are easy to slip on and go and they look great, too. I did order a full size up... my regular size 9 was just too narrow so I returned them. Ordered a size 10 and they fit great. Gotta love Zappos, easy returns!

I have worn Horseshoes for about 15 years now. Would not wear anything else. Comfort new, had to break a pair in!!!! Hope they never discontinue.
Only thing I did not realize was the original Horseshoe has a steel toe, had to go with a 1/2 size larger.

Great boot and really sassy. I bought these for a concert and wore them for 9 hours straight. My feet were a little sore after 9 hours, but otherwise pretty comfortable. I got a ton of complements on them as well. I highly recommend these boots. I'm thinking about getting the tan ones, too!

I absolutely love the style of this shoe - very unique, especially when I wear it around here in Massachusetts. However, I was disappointed that I couldn't get this (even on special order) in a wide width. I was forced to get a longer shoe to make up for it, which means a fit that is too loose in some areas and too tight in others.

I love these boots. I ordered them due to the rubber heel and haven't regretted them since. I wear them on a weekly basis and my journey to and from work is about 3 miles in total. They are springy and sassy. They look great with jeans or with a short skirt. They do make your feet look smaller than they really are. A good thing for some - I wear a size 5.5 so for me some people wonder how I can manage to stand. I have them in beige and would recommend them in a second. 5 out of 5 for me.

The Roper performance shoe is literally the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn and I have gone through three pairs of them in about 5 years, the last pair I wore until just a couple of months ago. They got so worn out that they were splitting across the top of the shoe, but keep in mind I was wearing these shoes every single day and since I work with horses they got into everything imaginable and got wet every day, from me giving horses baths. They probably would have lasted longer if I had cleaned and oiled them regularly. They have plenty of toe room, very important for my arthritic feet and have a thick sole for limiting concussion. You will not go wrong with these. I think this company is selling them at too high a price though... A really GREAT shoe with comfort galore.

Excellent shoe for overseas airline travel -
I bought these shoes to wear for overseas flights. They are extremely easy to get on and off for security checkpoints, and easily slipped on at the end of the long flight. Although I wouldn't recommend them for hiking, the shoes are very comfortable for travel.

I ordered these boot because of the different look they have. Got them the next day, talk about fast! Zappos is great. Unfortunately for me they didn't fit, a little small, so they're going back. I cautiously bought these for my husband who has been for a time unable to find a good pair of shoes that didn't cost a bundle. I used this website and expected to return these shoes. Well, my husband tried them on and absolutely loved them. I even kept the box for about a week, thinking he was going to change his mind. He wears them every day and compliments them often.

Gorgeous western look -
While this is a wonderful looking shoe and I am pleased with the looks, it is not as comfortable as I'd like it to be. The buckle and detail is so lovely that I am willing to wait and se if it works itself into a comfortable fit. It is very light not heavy and it is very safe with the wedgie type sole and rugged sole. It looks great with my jeans and accessories and I get tons of compliments on its stunning looks, so lol it’s a good shoe, probably with someone else who does not have tender feet will find it absolutely perfect!

I'm usually not a clunky shoe person but recently we got to start wearing jeans to work and my shoes were all a little dainty. These shoes are fabulous! Fit great and have great arch support in the right place. Plenty of room in the toe box. I have bunions and problem feet but these shoes are just perfect! I would like some more colors in these.

These boots are adorable! I only gave the comfort 4 stars rather than 5 because I have wide feet, so they were a little tight for me. As for the sizing, I believe they are true to the marked size as long as you are wearing thin socks. If you have thick socks then go a half size larger. When I wear mine with thin socks they fit like a glove, and like the other reviewer noted, I practically need a boot jack or my boyfriend to pull them off. Nonetheless, these are by far my favorite pair of boots, they look amazing with jeans! Definitely recommend these!

I love this shoe and I use it for casual wear and hiking… up to 16 miles! The shoe has good traction and is very comfortable. I bought a suede pair and it is tighter though, go with the leather or faux ostrich.
