Great looking boot -
I tried these boots on at a department store. Took one look in the mirror and knew they were for me. The look was sophisticated yet daring. The coat I am told is triple dyed leather so it’s right between black and a dark brown. The only grip is a slight vertical slack b/c but the sales guy drilled an extra hole in the leather belt strap and it fits like a glove.

Update of ancient style -
I have had over the years many versions of this classical Greek/Roman scandal. I love its look and its simplicity and close relationship to the human foot - literally, wrappings around a foot. Terrific. To Boot recent version of this scandal is beautiful and of course beautifully crafted however I think it was an error to elongate the shape as the modern shoe wants to do. On other more formal shoes, the "pointed" toe has its look and that is good but on this basic peasant shoe it is wrong to my eye. Therefore it also some to do with comfort, like there is more shoe than there is foot. I will enjoy wearing the To Boot New York Athens I am certain.

Beautiful, high quality sandal -
The leather on this sandal is top of the line and has an exceptional finish. Very luxurious. Comfortable too. Best sandals I ever owned. I ordered size 12 but they ran small. I exchanged them (with free shipping both ways) for size 13 and they fit great.

Beautiful and comfortable -
This shoe rocks! I have high instep and these were a bit tight at first, but after just a couple of hours they fit perfectly. They look great with dress pants or jeans. They are beginning to show some wear after about 6 months, but when they wear out, I will buy another pair.

Fantastic Sandal -
I was a little unsure whether to buy these due to the less than stellar reviews, but I took a chance. Boy am I happy I did--they are great looking, and they fit very well. I have very high arches, so the top strap was a little snug, but within an hour's worth of wear they opened up nicely. The leather is beautiful, and they are very well made. I'm really glad I took a chance. Also--customer service could not have been nicer or more helpful. Zappos is a first rate seller.

An "everyman's" shoe -
This is a very simple shoe and very simple looking - if you want a classic oxford that's no-muss-or-fuss, this is the shoe for you. Standard Adama Derrick details - nicely appointed leather sole and heel, solid leather upper (easily shined), easily worn with no break-in period required. Should be a part of an "everyman" wardrobe.

Outstanding boot, premium leather, terrific workmanship, amazing comfort right off the bat. An instant favorite.
One minor glitch: the angled zipper means your ankle "catches" in the lower potion of the boot/flap when you try to put them on, and you have to finagle a bit to get by it. A bit frustrating. Otherwise, very stylish, a classic.

Being asked by Zappos.com to write a few short words, I would say that I am very pleased with the boots from To Boot New York. The quality is there in every way. A good sole too for the winter (not for the slushy days, but for the periodic slick spots on what you assume is an otherwise safe walkway). The boots fit like a glove, cradling one's feet in in footwear that you could truly wear all day in perfect comfort. The quality of leather on the Italian-made boot is top-notch. It is a great look for dress-casual and a style which should purdure past the typical fad-looks of so many of today's choices from less fashionable manufactures.

It’s very soft and easy to wear. I had to take half size smaller than normal. The perfect men's sandal. The center strap up the front tends to move to the side making the sandal look misaligned, but I intend to stitch it down in the hopes of fixing this problem.

As expected with To Boot's the fit and build is excellent. The color and style are as sharp with slacks as they are with jeans and I interchange them with both. Their is only one detail that I feel could be improved (if I am really picky - which you can be with shoes in this price range.) After wearing throughout the fall season of 2007 the tow seems to curve up slightly more than I would like. The shoes still look brand new and have worn great, but the slight upward curve is not totally pleasing to me. In fair balance, the leather on this shoe is ultra soft and flexible and this curvature may be due to me tucking my feet under my chair at work and resting the shoes on their toes.

Don't do it!!!
Okay, you can do it if you'll only wear these periodically. I'm the kind of person that wears the same pair of boots to work every day except Friday, and these lasted about 6 months before the soles starting coming off. Um... a lot of money for 6 months? No thanks. Switched over to an almost identical Donald J. Pliner and haven't looked back.

Italian leather boots are hot and they're going to look good on you. It won't take long for you to get used to these boots; they look good with everything. The sole is unique, the style stands out and the comfort is perfect. They are a bit difficult to get on, but they're sized correctly once they're on.

Just bought these... and returned them. The shoe is beautiful as I would expect. If you own the Austin, the Grant will be much more narrow. Still, one of the most beautiful shoes from my favorite shoemaker.
