About K2 Skates
In 1994, K2 introduced the world’s first Softboot skate forever changing the way performance skates are designed and built. Our proprietary Softboot design leads the market by providing the highest performance and versatility in inline skates. A one-piece lasted boot footwear system fastened to the base and supported by an anatomical cuff sets K2 Skates apart from every other skate brand. After years on K2 Moto Fitness skates, I "upgraded" to the Moto 90s. They tie up a little different than the Moto Fitness skates and chew at the laces. After the first day, one lace was almost chewed through. They also don't feel as secure around the ankle as my other skates. After a few days, one of the wheels starting making a terrible sound that could be described as chirping. K2s response was dirty bearings, but for skates a week old and used for a couple of hours I doubt it. No longer happy with the K2 bearings, I ended up replacing all the K2 bearings with my older Bones bearings. The skates felt true to size and are comfortable, though not as secure as I'd like. As far as appearance, the skates are very white and look like new shoes on the first day of school. A fan of K2 for years, I'll now consider other brands for my next purchase. As usual, Zappos service was outstanding and the skates arrived much sooner than expected. Thanks!

K2 Never Lets Me Down - My old K2s lasted ten years and I expect these will, too. The only thing I was the teensiest bit disappointed about was the fact that these skates come with abec 5 bearings, a noticeable step down from my usual abec 7s. So I did have to order some new bearings (elsewhere) and switch them out, but after having done that, these skates are perfect!

This is an awesome skate, super-fast, easy turning (I was concerned the longer blade would make turns difficult). Ride is smooth and sand on the path is no problem anymore. I recommend these to everyone! I detest the color, ick. The black and gold is just tacky looking. I also am not too keen on the lacing, I think it's a pain and miss the old lacing. Overall though, I love these skates.

K2 inline skates Celena - These are my very first pair of inline skates and I absolutely love them! K2 definitely did not sacrifice looks for functionality when they designed these skates, they're gorgeous! To top it off, these skates are oh so comfortable! These inline skates were designed for speed, so I would recommend these skates for serious inline skaters who plan on skating long distances and those who have a need for speed. Zappos offered free shipping, but they sent me an e-mail stating that they would upgrade it to free overnight shipping. I got my skates the very next day! I highly recommend these inline skates, they're definitely worth the money. It's a fun way to exercise! Zappos customer service is EXCELLENT! No online merchant beats Zappos customer service. I'm a loyal customer forever and I tell everyone to shop at Zappos.com! Thank you Zappos.com for offering the Bill Me Later option! Zappos.com RULES!

Amazing skates - I ordered these a day ago, and Zappos was kind enough to surprise me and upgrade my shipping choice for free. So, I got them today! They are amazingly comfortable, and I love the green designs. The skates are very light on your feet, as well. But I'm comparing the weight to the extremely heavy aggressive skates I also have. Not the same brand. I bought these for transportation reasons on my university campus. It's much easier to skate around than to drive, walk, or bike. For any skater, I suggest these. K2 is a very durable brand. Thanks Zappos! You've made a happy customer.

Great Skates - These skates are both comfortable and beautiful and well made. I like the easy one pull lace up system a lot as I don't want to spend a lot of time getting in and out of the skates. They are pretty fast too so may be a little scary for a beginner.

There is nowhere in my city to purchase good skates! So after one tiny disappointment from Zappos, for which I still have approximately 294 days left to return, these gorgeous life-changers arrived. They are smooth, fast, comfortable, and as I recall, sponsor research toward breast cancer. What could be better?

They're Fantastic! These inline skates are incredible! I've been rollerblading for 15 years, but never have I been so comfortable and had such a smooth ride. These are one of the few skates that come in half sizes, so you can actually get a much better fit. They have really nice bearings (wheels go forever when you give them a spin) and the wheels are BIG which = FAST! A beginner could have a little trouble turning with the longer wheel base, but if you've skated before, turning in these is a piece of cake. The lacing is so cool! One pull on a rip cord and your laces are cinched up! Very nice styling and the black color shows less dirt and wear so you can plan to keep them for a long time. I would recommend these skates for anyone who is upgrading from an older pair! And as for service... Zappos is a great company! I ordered these online with free shipping, and they were here and on my feet THE NEXT DAY! When the other pair of skates I ordered didn't fit right, they were super easy to return. I've ordered everything from slippers to snow boots to skates and have been very happy with the service EVERY time. Thanks Zappos!

K-2 Skates Athena - The K-2 skates Athena look great and fit great. I have a slightly wider foot (but I don't buy wide tennis shoes) and the skates are very comfortable on me, but you may want to order 1/2 size larger to fit like your regular tennis shoe size (glad I did or I would have had to send them back and order a larger size). Very comfortable. Color is lighter than appearing on picture (like a medium to darker pair of blue jeans and there is real denim trim on skates which I couldn't see (picture appears to be more black than blue). Very cute skate, wheels roll nice. Zappos shipping is very fast. Friendly, helpful people taking orders. Hope this review helps. Someone else's review helped me with sizing & saved me a re-order & return.

Outstanding Fitness Skate - I just got my Extremes about a week ago and I've already put 10-15 miles on them. I wear a true 9.5E shoe and these were a perfect fit, right out of the box; and are amazingly comfortable, even when I've worn them for several hours at a time. I should offer a warning to skaters that are starting out, these are probably not the best skates to start out on. They are very, very fast due to the huge wheel size which also makes them a little harder to turn; however, for an intermediate or advanced skater these are awesome. I've been skating since 1990 made the jump from an older pair of Rollerbaldes with 80mm wheels to these and I found that after the first 15 minutes I adjusted very easily. Unlike skates with smaller wheels you can't just throw these around to make them turn, you have to carve your turns and make sure to use both your inside and outside edges. I would really recommend these skates for anyone who likes to skate fairly long distances at higher speeds, and is looking for a very smooth ride with a lot more comfort than a racing skate offers. Don't be daunted by the 100mm/90mm wheels, as long as your technique is fairly sound these are a blast to skate on. I found myself easily able to skate longer distances with far less effort; in fact, I had to keep watching my speed so that I wouldn't blow by my friends while we are skating (Did I mention that these babies are REALLY fast!!).

Excellent skate - K2 skates are super! If you hockey skate, the transition to these K2 skates is nice. They turn sharp, skate fast, fit well, same size as my CCM hockey skates, and I have a wide foot, are durable, and are great indoors skate. If you want to go faster indoors get the Moto hi-lows with (2 84mm and 2 80mm wheels) for a bit more. For outdoors if you want to go faster try the Motos 90mm, even more $, with larger wheel. IF you get a harder durometer, above 82A, you may go faster but bumps feel worse and you can not stick on turns indoors as well. If you get 100mm-110mm wheels turning is harder. For the pro skater it may not matter.

Amazing skate for the money - I just purchased these after trying many different pairs, rollerblade included, these we're def. the most comfortable, I just started skating and my first time out on them I did 15 miles with no foot pain, its like wearing a new tennis shoe. The boot itself is just a tad bit narrow but not enough to cause any discomfort and the toe box is roomy as well. It'll take a few miles to get used to these for sure as they want to do one thing and that’s go fast. It’s a great feeling to blast by bikers on 8 little wheels. If you’re comparing these to rollerblade brand K2 is my clear choice my only regret is the moto 90s weren’t on sale. Easily serviceable bearings w/c clips and you can convert these from hi-low set up to a straight 84mm set up with the flip of a spacer. Speed lace is awesome as well. Only downfall, soft wheels at 80a, looking at about $50 to replace wheels and the boot will get tore up on a nice wipeout, a downside for beginners but if you got good balance like me, this isn't a real problem.

Skates rock - I have tried all the previous k2 models below these in past month on the track (Exo, Alum, Moto (Hilo). These are by far the best of the lot so far. Was going to try next up but I have found out Hilo setup not too good. Back wheels like to lost traction crossovering and you can flip back of your foot out while straight skating. I went with the 2008 model being k2 improved the fit for this year. I took off the 90mm wheels to “SAVE" the best for after break-in period. Comfortable from start just right after a few hours of skating and stayed there. With 80 wheels and ilq9 bearing these screamed, manuvered great. Most fun I have had since I got great equipment. Was able to try new thing and these skates stuck and worked flawless. Putting the 90mm back on today for next outing. I would recommend these highly. Everything stays snug, makes you feel secure skating and become more daring. Also like to say ZAPPOS rocks for K2 skates. Fast free shipping fantastic product. I dealt with another place during my trials and they rate a zero for K2's.

Great skate - I've been skating for fun for the past 10 years. And I must say that it is a really good skate with reasonable price (120 US). It is very soft and comfortable, yet you still have 100% control. This is a 2nd pair of rollerblades I have with K2, and they impress me every time.

I am most happy with the great service provided by zappos. I tried to reply to one of Zappos emails and compliment you, but the email came back to me. I like the skates. They look great and skate is fine. I think my last rollerblades were easier to skate on. Or it is possible that I am getting older and it is not the skates at all.

First Impressions May Be Deceiving! I now had three training sessions with my new Soul 7s. Each session the skate has improved. Initial fit was stiff, but is getting better. Maybe because the material of the boot is leather and not the usual man made materials. They are decent looking skates. A bit refined compared to many brightly colored designs out there. The ride is a bit smoother and faster compared to my old Exo skates. I do have two complaints. The removable insole is very basic. Just a thin piece of foam. It does not cushion the soles of the feet very well. Also, the wheels/bearings are generic - no name brand. These skates are not high end, but they are not discount store either. So I would think K2 could have paid more attention to these two items.

Great workout skate - This is my second pair of K2 skates. After over 11 years it was time to replace my old pair. I picked these with the bigger wheels because they seemed to fit what I needed. I wanted a great workout with a smooth quick ride. I did have to get used to the wheel size and found the balance a little different, but over all love the skate. As always the boot is comfortable and a nice looking skate. K2 knows their skates!

Love these skates - Great skates. Very smooth with less effort than my "old" skates that lasted ten years. It is so fun to exercise w/ these skates...not a chore any more. Only drawback was that my feet hurt after 45 min. of activity. Maybe I had them too tight??? Otherwise, incredible product.

Great skate, comfortable in the long haul - I've put well over 60 miles on these since getting them about a month ago, including the NYC skate marathon. I've had 0 blisters, chafing spots, or pressure points. They're very comfortable and well built. They're fast and more than stable enough to take me over the unforgiving terrain of Chicago streets and sidewalks. I've had K2 skates in the past, and therefore knew that these would be compatible with the shape of my foot, and knew what size to get. I would always recommend trying a skate on before you buy it, unless you're sure that they'll fit. On the other hand, I can vouch that these have no break-in period - they were perfectly comfortable from day 1. They're also quick and maneuverable - I use them to commute to and from work in Chicago, and so far I haven't had trouble dodging cars, dogs, or pedestrians. Having been a skater for 10+ years, I can say that these skates are a good bet.

Nice Around The Neighborhood Skates - I played street hockey as a kid and recently got the urge to do more roller blading. These skates are very "paddy" inside and around the top which is great for strapping on and going quickly. Those coming from ice skating may feel like they are not as tight as they should be - keep in mind that it is by design. I wear a 14 tennis shoe but the 13s fit me perfectly.

Smooth and comfortable - I love these skates! It takes some time to get used to the lacing system, but once you get that down, it's like skating in your slippers. I skate 5 miles a day on a recreation path so they get heavy use and I've not been disappointed.

A very good purchase - I bought these skates and expected to slowly get back into skating instead of jogging to reduce the impact on my knees. Well, these skates are fast! A little faster than I was immediately comfortable with but before long I was getting it. They may be a half size bigger than I expected but I like the wiggle room in the toes. The soft boot of the skate is more comfortable than the hard plastic ones I remember from the old days and the ankle support is great. And these skates look cool too! For the price these skates have been a great purchase. They have lived up to my expectations and recommend them to someone who wants an economically priced intermediate skate that performs well, looks good, and fits comfortably. My service experience with Zappos.com was phenomenal. I ordered the skates on a Thursday evening around 10-11pm EST thinking they wouldn't arrive until after the weekend and they arrived the next day! I couldn't believe they came that quick. I also have the luxury of having the Zappos Outlet store close to home so I pretty much don't go anywhere else for my footwear. Keep up the great work guys and gals.

Excellent skates - and the shipping cannot be beat! I bought these skates approximately one month ago after a several-year hiatus. My old K2 Carbons were in fact quite old by this point and slowly coming undone. At the time I had thought they were quite the skate and comfortable too, but they can't hold a candle to my new Moto 90's. If you're not ready for 100mm-Speed Skates, these are the only blades I would recommend. They've held up well so far, and I've already put a good 50 miles on them (rotated the wheels once so far). Heck, for as well-cushioned and snug as they arrived, they hardly needed any breaking in. My third day owning them I went on a 22-mile trek and never once had to consider pain in my feet. Highly recommended!

Great skate, but for newbies... I have no complaints about the skate as far as comfort or style. The only thing I would warn buyers about is that for a new skater, the fabric sides will tear pretty easily when falling. Obviously this is not as much an issue for a more experienced skater, but I was very disappointed when the first thing I did to these stylish new skates is tear a hole in them! If I were rethinking the purchase, I would have gotten some skates with durable plastic siding, even if less comfortable.
