HI-TEC SPORTS was founded in 1974 in the appropriately named village of Shoeburyness, in Essex, England. The company’s original success grew from the breakthrough design and development of Hi-Tec's first ever shoe, THE HI-TEC SQUASH, specifically designed for the then fast growing game of squash. An industry benchmark then and now, few shoes in athletic footwear history have recorded unit sales of over 18 million pairs worldwide to date. The Hi-Tec Squash shoe remains Britain's all time best selling sports shoe model to this day.
It was not until 1982 that the Hi-Tec brand name and logo were globally launched as a result of our decision to become a major worldwide sports brand. The innovative, successful global development of Hi-Tec shoes became a casebook study at a prestigious university. Today Hi-Tec is proud to report that there are over 500 Hi-Tec styles being commercialized throughout 80 countries world-wide, under the Hi-Tec Outdoor, Hi-Tec Court, Hi-Tec Golf, Hi-Tec Sport, Urban collections and Magnum shoe brands; a whole family of great products for sports and footwear enthusiasts.
Hi-Tec almost singularly focuses on developing attractive, comfortable, lightweight high-quality shoes at a fair "true value" price. Hi-Tec applies high technology build processes and leverage innovative materials to ensure the ultimate in comfort, whether your needs are performance-oriented, or more leisure wear centric.
Hi-Tec is: easy, friendly, contemporary, comfortable, and accessible.

Not bad -
The boot looks cute and gives a nice ankle support if you are going to walk in rugged terrain. The shoe is comfortable, but if you are going to wear them all day (and mostly standing up, like I usually do when I wear them) then you should buy orthopedic insoles, but the shoe is reasonably priced and was what I was looking for and could afford.

Great shoe -
We were hoping for the Keen Bronx, but it was sold out in my son's size everywhere - including Zappos. We were pressed to get him something! This was the only lace up "shoe" in his size. I did not want velcro and didn't want a runny sneaker. I was very happy from the moment I opened the box. Great looking and lightweight. Great price, too, almost half of the Keen. The real test was my son - he loved the look and they felt great. Sensitive kid, especially his feet. He's worn them every day for 2 weeks now, they are an A+ shoe. We'll see how they wear. At this point, I would strongly consider getting them again.

Hi-Tec Kalahari -
I'm on my feet all day at work, sometimes 10 hour shifts, and finally I found a pair of shoes that my feet don't hurt in by the end of the day. They look great, too. They've gotten wet, muddy, and after wiping them after they were dry, they look like new. I only gave 4 stars for comfort because there is a slight rubbing on the upper ankles after hours of wearing. Can't wait to try hiking in them.

Finally, a golf shoe with a roomy toe box!
All these years trying to squeeze into the long narrow shape of golf shoes and look like the rest of the ladies! Finally, one that fits well, is comfortable, AND looks good! Runs generous. I got the tan and am thinking of getting the blue and pink as well!!!

Could be better -
This boot did not fit right, they felt at least 1/2 size smaller than marked. I sent these back to Zappos.

Hiking Boot -
I wear an 8 EE in women's and could not find any hiking boot wide enough. Fortunately, Zappos had a small enough men's boot. Thank you!

Hi-Tec Outlander -
This looked like a good hiking shoe and got some good reviews, but when I tried it on, it was too small. I'm usually a 9 or 9.5. I ordered this one in a 9.5, and guess I should have got a 10.
It felt comfortable for my feet, just wearing for a minute, but the ankle part was too tight and uncomfortable. Not even laced up. And I don't have thick/wide ankles.

Great boot for day hikers -
I just purchased this boot while looking for a good light weight boot. As always Hi Tec boots are very comfortable right out of the box. I have hiked off trail aprox. 20 miles and no problems. I did replace the insole for a custom made insert with a little more instep and heel support. Boot runs a 1/2 to full size smaller than some boots.

Comfortable feel, however I did get a blister after wearing them all day for the first time. Now that they are worn in I have no complaints. Great shoe for the price.

You'll want another pair of 'em -
Bought them last spring - was going to buy Adidas Tour 360, but I liked the specs and looks and 3-directional cleats in back. Super comfortable, light, confident, rugged! Only thing I would recommend additional arch support, like Dr.Scholls - but I could play ALL DAY LONG in them, and I have!

Comfortable right out of the box -
Ordered these on a Tuesday, arrived on Wednesday, great shipping as always. Bought two pairs of these, one for each of my sons. We spent the next 3 days hiking on rough, rocky, wet trails. They said perfect fit, comfortable, good traction and they liked the looks.

I love these shoes. They are comfortable, they keep my feet dry, and they look good. The only thing I would change is the top toggle. They have tie laces and a separate top toggle. The toggle is not very effective, and just another thing to deal with.

Great Lightweight Walker -
I've put maybe 10 miles on these boots since they arrived. I think they're a very good value in a lightweight hiking boot. They're very light, yet they still feel pretty substantial, which makes me think they'll last awhile. And they're really comfortable. If I still backpacked like I did when I was younger, I doubt these boots would be suitable for those 30-40 mile backcountry trips, but for day hikes and street walking, they're perfect.

Great look, poor quality -
I ordered a size 8 and 8.5, not knowing which one would fit my daughter better. She started with the 8 to break it in, and on the second day she wore them one of the eyes fell off. Luckily we had the back up pair, which I had not sent back yet, so she could break those in now. She needs them for Science camp in 2 weeks. I hope they last. She loves the look and feel of them.

Mine leaked -
It seems this pair is a great deal, but mine were not waterproof! The first few days of wearing in wet grass caused slight wetness to my toes. By the end of the first week, I wore them in rain and my socks were soaked after 5 hours. One foot got wetter than the other, but both leaked. Don't manufacturers test for this? Although these aren't gore-tex, I've also had occasional problems with gore-tex. I returned for refund after 5 days of use.

Lightweight and great -
I have had Hi-Tecs in the past because of the steel shanked sole and have been impressed. The Hi-Tec Cape Trail boot weighing in just over a pound each is great for the trail, easy to break in, and comfortable with no burning sensations. I recommend this boot from the novice to the serious trail blazer!
