KaraB was founded by Kara Buttimer and Summer '04 marks the official launch of the line.
She had become so tired of carrying the same old boring black nylon laptop bag and could not find anything available that was both fashionable and affordable. So she decided she had to do something about it. After talking to her friends and colleagues, she learned that they felt the same way; everyone was frustrated by the lack of unique, fashionable, yet well constructed laptop bags. The only solution appeared to be to design and market them herself, and that's how KaraB began.
