I bought these shoes for ball room dance class upon the instructor\'s recommendation. I have wide feet and these shoes only come in medium, but the fit was good. I always wear backless shoes because shoes with backs bother my heels, I did not get blisters from these shoes. They are very comfortable and if I wasn\'t afraid I\'d ruin the soles, I\'d wear them for dress anytime, but I will reserve them for dancing.

These glove-leather shoes are almost like going barefoot. If you want a lot of cushion in your sole, these shoes are not for you. They look great and feel great to me. Their look reminds me of ballet slippers. They would probably not be good for inclement weather conditions. I would consider them a warm weather shoe.

Ordering these was a waste of time!
I wear a size 10. I ordered these in 10 1/2 M because the description said begin 1/2 size up from street shoe size. The 10 1/2 was too small, so I ordered an 11 - too small! Then I ordered a 12 W!!! That was too small, too! So now I am returning them all!!! Zappos is great and was completely understanding and helpful. I don't know any other online company that would be so helpful.

The picture looks better than the shoe. It is truly an economy shoes. A little to light weight and the sole is like paper. I was disappointed at the quality. It is very soft and a little to flimsy to really practice in.

My favorite ballet slipper -
I've been dancing in this shoe for about a week now and I absolutely love it. It looks beautiful on my foot. I got a size 7 wide, and it fits like a glove. As some of the other reviews said, the insole does not stay intact. But I prefer this! I always remove the insole from my ballet slippers because the shoe fits better and the foot looks even prettier when it points or in releve. It's no less comfortable without the insole, unless you have very sensitive feet.
As always, Zappos service is unparalleled. I'm in love with this ballet shoe, and I'm in love with Zappos.

The first thing to remember about these shoes is they are ECONOMY shoes. They could be folded in half and mailed in an envelope. They are basically leather bags for your feet. They aren't walking shoes, either. For some reason, they don't bend up the way you need to walk, so you have to sort of shuffle when wearing them (which is fine for ballroom dancing). They also smell very strongly and the black dye comes off on everything -- stockings, feet, anything. Wrap them in a plastic bag if toting them with clothes. That being said, they are the only pair of dance shoes I could find in my size. Since I am very tall, I found the absolute flatness of the shoe helpful in getting more dances because I'm not towering over every man in the place. They are extraordinarily light. The first time I wore them, I felt like I was gliding on a cloud. The price is hard to beat. So, if you don't mind the lack of fashion or the strong dye smell, they are great shoes.

I bought these as practice shoes for my daughters West Coast swing classes and she just loves them! They are cute, the fit is great, and they are true to size. They slide wonderfully and theres just enough padding on the ball of the foot to make jumps and tosses comfortable. Her feet are a little sore after three hours of practice... but Im pretty sure thats the case no matter what shoes you wear!

I recently bought the Leos Econo Jazz Oxford for swing dancing. My normal shoe size is a 9.5... after 3 tries (good thing for free shipping), I kept the size 11. With 3/4 insoles (providing more arch support), these shoes are great for dancing and spinning. I would buy all color of this shoe.

Worn instead of slippers, these "sockettes" protect socks, but feel like I am walking around the house in socks! In addition, the leather soles grip the floor rather than sliding like socks do. A similar product that I purchased decades ago used thicker materials, but for the price, I can replace these occasionally if they wear out.

I bought 2 pair of these shoes. The uppers are very comfortable. The soles are too thin for my liking so I took them to a shoe repair shop and he removed the heel, added a double layer of leather to the existing sole, and replaced the heel. This actually made the shoe more comfortable and will also increase the life of the sole. The cost of the additional thickness was $20.00. Even with this added cost the shoe is still a bargain in my opinion. I do 6 hours of Zumba Gold and 4 hours of dance aerobics a week. The shoes are comfortable and I have experienced no foot or leg problems. I really love this shoe and it has made my dancing much more enjoyable.

Didn't Like It -
I was looking for a stylish, but comfortable shoe to salsa in. The look of this faux leather shoe is cheap. The stitching is poor and uneven. The little flap of stitched material at the top of the back of the shoe makes the shoe look poorly constructed and it rubs on the back of your foot. I ordered my regular size which squeezed my toes too much and one size up which was too long. It was very uncomfortable to wear the shoe as it was not soft against your foot.

Great dancing shoe -
These shoes are very comfortable to dance in, with a little extra cushion in the ball area. They have a hard bottom so you can safely wear them to and from your car without hurting your feet or the shoe. I didn't even need to break them in.

At age 54.... Theyre great. My teacher clearly sees my only impediment is me, not the shoes...but remember to read the order guide. I followed that and they fit just right. If you order your actual size, you'll be returning them. But that would be your fault. The instructions are right there...

Jazz Oxfords -
This is a great dance shoe. Everything else seems to gives me blisters, but this shoe is made of very flexible leather that just glides with my feet. I use this shoe for line dancing, so I added a comfort insole for a bit more overall support. It's great!

I was online looking for a shoe to dance in that would let me slide some. This shoe was great! Not only comfortable but would slide on the dance floor just enough. I have a narrow foot so I wish I had ordered the narrower size but the shoe is so comfortable that I wear them not only to dance in. The shoe looks good and so comfortable.

When my daughter's new ballet slippers ordered from the local dance store came in too small and defective the week before her concert, I wished we had gone with Zappos from the start. These are beautiful! The material is wonderful. She says they are also comfortable and breathable. Best of all, they fit her size 10 feet perfectly.

I normally wear 10.5 (mens) and size 12 fits in these. They look great and are comfortable. The soles do seem hard though; it makes them good for spins. The first thing I did was replace the insoles and it much improved the cushioning and comfort. The Zappos staff was great in helping with an earlier return.

 | | You're pretty awesome. Let me count the ways: 1. You make it easy for me to find great shoes. That should be enough. BUT I SOLDIER ON. 2. Pretty darn good website. There are lil' bugs here and there (sometimes narrowing a search doesn't totally work, but for the most part it does), but comparing you folks to some other nightmarish sites I've used, especially with the sheer amount of product you have for me to see...well done. 3. Convenience. HOLY CONVENIENCE, BATMAN! Much like Ian McKaye of the band Fugazi, I am a patient boy, I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait. But when I order from you I don't have to. I've had shoes get to me so fast I actually thought there must have been a mistake because it got to me TOO quickly. Guys, that is some serious service. This is why I buy shoes exclusively from you. 4. Customer Service. I had a store credit recently, but like an idiot, I deleted the email with the credit code. I called up and talked to a totally friendly, funny, helpful guy. He said he'd take care of emailing me the code and all would be right with the world. OH NOES! The email, actually never showed up. So I called back and spoke with a totally friendly, funny, helpful girl (with a completely pretty voice, I'll be honest) and she got me a coupon code while I was on the phone (THAT'S good turnaround) and explained that there were the dreaded *technical difficulties* and the other dude didn't actually screw up. Guys, I've never talked to a company on the phone and ended with such a good feeling. I have friends that I don't enjoy talking to on the phone that much. Close friends. Is it ok if I just call to talk sometime? I'm kidding. Maybe. 5. You ALL seem to have a sense of humor. You guys are frakkin' funny! Your email, any of the dig deeper sort of stuff (blogs, joke of the day, etc.). That is beyond refreshing, thank you so much :) Honestly, as long as you guys are around, you got my bidness. Rock over London, rock on Chicago. | | ~ Zachary S., November 07 2009
