This shoe is for you, Goldilocks, Just Order UP!
Definitely runs at least a half size small, but hugs your heel with out hitting the ankles and lets your toes run. On the trail, snapping out of turns without sacrificing stability is key and this shoe doesn't disappoint. The style is low profile enough to cycle with as well and so far the material has held up to everything I could put it through.

Solid Trail Shoe -
Good support. Tight fit - narrow for stated width. Must size up at least a half size if you hope to use thicker hiking socks. But seems to fit well enough to work with a single thin sock, so you could go true to size and wear thin socks.

This boot is very comfortable and light, but they are made small. I have a size 8 foot, but I had to return the 8’s and get a size 9. These are the first 9’s I've ever own, the boot is worth the exchange though. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.

This is a sneaker -
As other posters have stated, get a 1/2 size larger. Did that and it fits perfect. Like a previous Montrail, the shoes build and construction is great and solid. Feels a little snug but it’s because your feet are wrapped securely with this shoe. It is extremely comfortable and required no breaking in. The comfort is great.

Good trail running shoe for over pronators -
I've tried numerous trail running shoes from various makers and Montrail makes the best shoe for over pronators who need lots of stability. Sole is sturdy and stable and thick enough that you don't feel the rocks on the trails. While lesser quality shoes can probably be worn for hiking, these Hardrocks are perfect for people who actually run the trails and require a high performing, trail specific shoe. The gray/blue color combination I got is excellent for not showing the dirt from the trails. The only negative I would cite is that the shoe seems a bit hot for not being Gortex; it wouldn't hurt if the makers allowed for increased ventilation. Otherwise, it's a great shoe at a very fair price. Note: I advise ordering at least a 1/2 size up as trail running forces the foot forward and toe squishing in the toe box is not only uncomfortable but can lead to toenail problems.

I bought this boot to go backpacking in Argentina. I had worn them a couple times to break them in (without a pack) and they seemed very comfortable. And they were very comfortable, until I got into the middle of the mountains in Patagonia. Granted, the trails were pretty steep and rocky, but by the end of day 3 with a 20 pound pack and a many miles of going downhill, the cushioning of the boot started digging into my ankles. It got so bad that my ankles became swollen and bruised and I eventually was in so much pain that I had to stop and cut the cushioning out. I may be the only one with this experience, but I'm not sure if this is the best shoe for a multi-day trip on challenging terrain.

Outstanding design.
Stable, comfortable, light. Perfect for my arthritic feet-the magical ankle stability reduces random foot movement. Narrow heel, good size toe box accommodates arthritic toes. Clever design keeps feet in place without having to crank down on laces - so no extra pressure on sensitive bones. No forward slippage. My hiking days were diminishing before this boot. Now I am back to long distance hiking. I even did a 1/2 marathon run/walk in these boots. I own 6 pairs. Hope they never stop making them. I wear an orthotic with these, as with all shoes I wear. Only problem: quick to get wet and slow to dry.

Sr Trail Runner -
This shoe is marketed as a neutral shoe, which it is not - it is a medial posted shoe - to make this shoe work I needed an orthotic - then it works ok, but the cushioning could be better. I have high arches. Works good on all types of surfaces, but I find the Adidas Response a better shoe for my foot.

MONTRAIL NAMCHE -
I found this hiking boot to be very comfortable as it hugs the foot and helps keep your foot from slipping forward. I did find it to be a whole size smaller than my normal size. I have an extremely narrow foot & it was way too small in my normal size. This boot supports your ankle well also. I purchased this boot after recovering from a fractured ankle as I needed support for my ankle. It is possible, I needed a whole size larger due to arthritis in my foot and the extra toe space needed. This is a light weight hiking boot.

Good, comfy flip flop, wider than stated width -
I really like this flip flop, its comfortable right out of the box and I've worn it a lot. It's sporty looking. I bought this w/ some concern b/c it's described as a "B" width and I have wide feet. It seems slightly wider than a B and it fits great. Maybe not the right fit for those w/ narrow feet, but average to slightly wide widths will find this to be a good sporty flip flop. I plan on buying another pair for the summer.

Good shoe for wide feet.
It is difficult to find hiking boots for my wide feet. These shoes are comfortable and are holding up well. I have only logged about 30 trail miles on 4 day hikes, but the shoes are already broken in and feel good on my feet. The only drawback is that I would like better arch support.

REAL Performance Footwear -
I just wore these shoes on a 4 day backpacking trip in the Smokies. 40 pound pack and 8 miles a day, not even the beginnings of a blister the whole trip. Tell me another trail running shoe that could even come close to handling that. Wet or dry these shoes have great traction for boulder hopping and hill climbing. Buy a half size up or more the arch is positioned strangely.

My Montrails saved my feet!
First I have to say that these are the cutest trail runners I have ever owned. I have the gray/sapphire ones and wear them on the pavement and on the trails. These are great shoes for people with foot problems. I’ve always had low arches and then a couple of years ago I tore my Achilles tendon. I was experiencing a lot of foot pain if I didn’t wear orthodics in my shoes and after I did 10+ minutes of walking. I wore my Montrails everyday for about 2 weeks before I noticed that I was no longer experiencing any pain. I’m now able to walk and I even did a 1.5 hr hike without any foot pain. My podiatrist said the shoe is very stiff and that helps keep my foot from moving around. My only complaint is that they run a size too small so I had to wait for a bigger size to be delivered.

Very Comfortable, and Air- Conditioned -
I get the meaning of the name; this is a light and airy shoe that really breathes. Would be too light in the fall and winter but now that it's spring and getting warmer this will be nice. Very cushioned heel and overall very comfortable.

Delight -
This shoe has quite a raised "lip" at the outside of the foot. I wasn't sure they would be comfortable for me, but, after a short time in the oven, they're just great. Don't be afraid to warm them up, as instructed if the fit seems close. Great support and cushion. My arch falls in a different place than the standard last, and these work for me. A winner.

Very comfortable -
Tried numerous leather waterproof boots medium-to-light. Montrail Torre GTX Classic was by far the most comfortable, has a great feel to it immediately. Now, after a month of breaking it in, I would highly recommend it. My fit was measured at the hiking store as very narrow, but I bought a medium width, so maybe the boot is narrower?

Nice comfy shoe!
This shoe is awesome!! I've had a ton of compliments on it. They are really comfortable. I did the fitting in the oven and it worked very well. They are very comfortable to walk all day in. My only complaint is that the length of the toe area is a little long. I don't think I could have gone a size small since my heel is at the end. Definitely worth the $$!
