We love these sandals -
My discriminating four year old loves these shoes. They are pretty enough for her and offer enough practicality for mama.
I love the simple, somewhat retro style. The leather is soft and supple...even the shiny pink patent! And the patent leather doesn't seem to show dirt at all. They still look brand new.
My only complaint is that she can't buckle them herself yet. But at the same time I think the "real" buckle (not Velcro) has a more secure fit.
My daughter is technically a size 10 but we ordered a 9 because she was still wearing last year's 8 (which were just a bit too small). I think the sizing will really depend on your child's foot. The 9 is a bit short in the heel but longer in the toe on my daughter but we are happy with it overall. I think the 10 would have been too big.

Not thrilled...
I bought a pair of these for each of my daughters, and surprisingly had a different problem with each pair. With one after the first wearing a BIG piece of the sole came off! She was only walking in them, nothing that should have caused this to happen. I was going to send both pair back, but decided to try my other daughter with them. The stitching inside the shoe around the ankle area was not cut off correctly in hers and was rough causing some really bad looking cuts. I was really surprised by this after reading all the good reviews about this shoe. I would not buy this brand again.

So there will be no false formalities. I wanted to write and let you know how thrilled I was with my first Zappos experience. I purchased a couple pair of shoes online last Saturday evening in preparation for a trip to Ireland this Saturday. I wasn't sure if I should upgrade to the faster shipping option so I called the 24/7 helpline. I reached Kimberly, who advised me to go ahead and click "send" and she would adjust the shipping to "next day" at no extra charge. In doing this, she advised, we would still have time to make any changes should there be a problem with the shoes. I was expecting a Tuesday delivery and was amazed to have the shoes on my doorstep by 10:00 a.m. Monday morning. Wow! One pair didn't fit so well, so I called to see about returning them. I spoke with Karen, and once again was thrilled to speak with someone both friendly and knowledgeable. Incidentally, the shoes that I ordered in exchange, arrived on Wednesday. About half an hour ago I got a call from James asking if I had time to take a short survey concerning my Zappos experience. Needless to say, your company and people received top marks from me. The impression that I am left with after speaking to three different people is that your employees really care about pleasing the customer. The enthusiasm and sincerity to do right by me never felt scripted, false, or overzealous in any way, just real people actually wanting to help a real person. Kudos to you Tony, I know that morale, and a customer service culture start at the top. Keep up the good work. I'll be looking to see what your next venture is. |  | ~ Art K., July 24 2008
