I'm a lifelong convert...
I'm a military officer, and switched to Deer Stags about ten years ago, when my assignment had me on my feet all day from 0730 to 1600. My first pair of Deer Stags converted me for life...at least for my uniform shoe. One note: I've become an expert in black low-quarter shoes such as these over my 20 year military career...this new Deer Stag model definitely is at least a half size larger than marked...absolutely no question about it. Compared to my previous Deer Stags, compared to Bates, compared to Rockport...this model is definitely a half size larger at least.

Excellent loafers - Probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. This is the fifth or sixth pair I have bought from Zappos. They are fine as work/dress shoes, yet have the comfort and versatility for leisure/social. A great buy.

Walking on air -
My husband says these shoes are like walking on a cloud. He stands all day in his profession (teaching in a university) that after awhile the feet feel like lead weights, but standing and going up & down stairs with these Deer Stags is a pleasure. Once again, Zappos your shoes men & women’s are the best when it comes to comfort and style. They are made true to size & they are delivered quicker than going to a store and trying to find a parking spot. You have customers for life with us. Thank you Zappos.

Comfy...
Very comfortable, yet dressy. I recently began an internship in DC that requires formal clothing, and I needed a non-Payless pair of -real- dress shoes. These were almost the same price as the other dress shoes I have (which are from Payless, and are plasticy), fit very nicely, and are more comfortable than any other shoes I own. The only drawback to them that I've noticed might just be exclusive to my feet: After walking in them for awhile, the end of the shoe, just past the laces, started to get a crease-like fold, and every time I took a step, the shoe folded there and cramped the top of my toes.

A little better than average - Good shoe. Expected a little more slip resistance, but it’s not terrible. Easy to clean. Replaced the inserts with my custom orthotics. Regular inserts weren't enough for me. Had to do some easy modification to secure orthotics in there by removing bottom portion of insert to fill the hole where the insert had been.

I've ordered several pairs of Deer Stags. They are great work shoes--very comfortable, but nice enough for work. I do wish they offered them in a more narrow size; these feel a little wide, but still wearable.

The real thing! Classic Wingtips - These shoes are like your old friends. Well-made, sturdy, durable leather, classic styling. They fit comfortably right out of the box and just go and go. I wore through a pair in two years (every day to work involving lots of travel and visiting chemical plants) and just bought a new pair!

They're shoes...
These shoes are comfortable and true to size. They look just like the website makes them appear and overall they are exactly what I expected. The only down side is that the lining dyes your socks, so if you're wearing anything other than black socks with these shoes, they will have black marks on them anywhere they rub against the shoe (at least for the first couple of weeks). I have to wear white socks as part of a work dress code which is why I noticed.

These were my first shoes from Zappos and I'm happy with them. I like the comfort and they look alright. The price is hard to beat, and I've ordered another pair of Deer Stags, the Capital.
One note: the brown is a very dark, burgundy brown.

If you're looking for a shoe that will last for work, this is NOT for you. These shoes looked decent and felt fairly comfortable the first month or so that I wore them to work. I'm on my feet all day and needed a comfortable shoe and I thought this was the one. However, that was not the case. In less than three months the shoe has completely collapsed. Whatever air pocket was holding the heel up deflated and BOTH shoes are cracked all the way up the side. This was a waste of my money and now I have to find new shoes for work. Very frustrating. Terrible quality product.

As a Type II diabetic, shoes are of prime importance. How they fit, feel and wear are all paramount. This is my 3rd pair of Deer Stag's with their S.U.P.R.O. sock technology. I will never be without these shoes and if you value your feet, you will not either.
Plus, the only place to buy your Deer Stags is Zappos.com. Their customer service is second to none and it is soooo much easier than dealing with "shoe salesmen!" You get your shoes the next day and if there is any problem whatsoever, Zappoos.com makes it right. Dan Kennedy devotes 3 pages of his book "NO B.S. Marketing to the Affluent" to the story behind Zappos.com and rightly so.

These are wonderful for comfort and arch support. Unfortunately I had my shoes for a short time and the sole of the shoes started to come unglued from the base and needed to be replaced after just a few months.

Just what I have been looking for!
I am a stay at home mom, so I am on my feet all day chasing our two year old son. I was having lower back pain and ankle/foot pain. I was on the search for a shoe other than the traditional bedroom shoe that could be worn inside all day, but provide the needed support and I have found it. These shoes are great. They have alleviated my pain. They do cuddle your feet. The only dislike that I have is the fact that they can only be spot cleaned.

I just wanted to write and say thank you for something I feel was above and beyond. Yesterday a small Zappos box came to the house. I knew I hadn't ordered anything recently so I was curious when I opened it. Inside was my dog's collar. Apparently it had somehow fallen into a box of shoes that I returned a few weeks ago.
