I love these socks...however, they DO run small. I wear a 9 shoe and the socks should of fit up to a 10 1/2 I believe and I am constantly having to pull them up on my heel. They are a bunch of money to have to do that but having worn them it was too late to return. Just heed my advice...buy at least a size larger!!!

Wife’s sox -
My beautiful bride of almost 20 years is a circuit trainer at a gym for women and is really tuff on toes... sox toes, not hers. She says the only sox that stand up to the daily beating is Dahlgren's Ultra Light Trail. They are so comfortable, she actually comes home smiling at the end of another grueling and fun-filled day at the gym... and that's a bonus!

Nice warm sport sock -
Thick, warm and cushy, yet fits nice and tight across the arch. Won't slide down into your boot. Lowered the stars for look, as it's not a dress sock, it looks more like a sport sock.

I have six pairs and have used them to run in 3 times a week, 15-20 miles and nothing wears and performs like them. They wear like iron, are as comfortable as bunny fur and keep your feet dry.

I have purchased many pairs of socks in the past few weeks and finally have found a pair of socks that work well for me. In the past I have had problems with foot burn and with these wonderful Dahlgrens I have not experienced burning feet on my many, many miles of run/walk outings.

These wear well and are really comfortable -
I pick these up in bulk for DH, who wears nothing but this brand anymore. He is on his feet a great deal because he travels a lot. These are great for whether he's running through airports or on long flights; he has never found a more comfortable sock. Although they are more expensive than some brands, they wear like iron, so the cost is probably about equal -- if anything, these wear comparatively longer. I wish Zappos would make these available in the medium green again; it's a great color for casual wear.

What's Alpaca?
Alpaca (whatever it is) works great as a running sock. It sucks moisture even from the sweatiest feet. I use them around the town w/ whatever tennis shoe I feel like, so they’re street socks, too!

I purchased the heavier Dahlgren alpaca hiking socks last winter and they were fabulous. So, I decided to try their light-weight counter-part alpacas for summer. They too are fabulous. Granted, not the cheapest sock around. They are extremely comfortable, breath nicely in hot weather when worn with Salomon hiking shoes, and are just a pleasure to wear. I do wash all my Dahlgren socks inside-out with Wool-Lite, and they stay in wonderful. Dahlgren socks are a great example of you get what you pay for.

A high quality sock -
A little tighter fit than I would have expected, but they are comfortable to wear. They look like no other sock, so it’s nice to be able to match the pairs easily. I have dozens of black socks, because unless I'm wearing shorts, it’s all I wear. This is a great office working sock.

Great high end socks -
I was looking for high end, quality socks despite the price and these fit the bill in my opinion. They are very comfortable and look fine. They are much better than gold toe and other socks sold in the local stores.

I was a more than a little hesitant to purchase these socks given the steep price. However, now that I have tried them I expect I will be purchasing more. They are quite comfortable even in the very warm Phoenix weather.

Socks with arch support!
These are my favorite socks. They have extra support across the arches of the foot and to not rub at all over the toe area. Love them! Love Zappos too - I ordered online on a Monday late morning and the boxes arrived the very next day in the afternoon - free of shipping charges!

I generally buy Fox River socks but, since Zappos does not carry the Fox River brand, I decided to try the Dahlgren socks. I tried them mostly because they appeared on the socks Brand list under women's and I needed black socks. While I am an enthusiastic supporter of Fox River socks for Women, the best I can say about the Dahlgren socks I bought is they are OK. They do not fit or look as good as the comparable Fox River socks. I will stick with Fox River for any future sock orders. I do wish Zappos carried Fox River socks though. Since I do 90% of my shopping through Internet retailers, I have a lot of experience with them and I think Zappos is the best site on the web.

Good mild weather sock for moutain bike riding and walking.
I use these socks with light trail shoes (Garmont, Nagevi XCR) for both walking (1hour) and mountain bike(2.5hours) riding each day. The socks feel really comfortable. They don't get too hot even when it is pretty warm outside and I am walking or riding hard. These walking socks are a thinner than the light hiking socks by Dahlgren (medium weight.) They have some cushion too. They are excellent socks for just walking around too; but they keep your feet pretty dry too when active.

Oh so comfy and soft are these clouds of cushiony comfort. For me the band around the leg leaves a big dent mark in my leg at the end of the day and I am not that chunky :-( Otherwise they are amazing comfortable!
