Arche was established in Paris in 1968 by Pierre Robert Helaine with the philosophy: If you cant think, walk. If you are thinking too much, walk. If you are thinking bad thoughts, keep walking.
Paris is where fashion begins and where all Arche products are designed. As a result Arche footwear easily accessorizes and relates to the most current ready to wear, outerwear, and swimwear trends.
Arche begins with the belief that Black and Brown do not go with everything. Every Arche Collection is then offered in a myriad of colorations that correspond exactly to fashion enabling our customer to always look her best.
All Arche products feature 100% natural Latex cushioning for maximum durability, flexibility and unrelenting shock absorption. Supple water and scratch resistant Nubuck Leather repels the elements while creating a cozy and breathable home for the foot. All Arche footwear provides instant comfort that will create a bounce in the step for the life of the shoe.
For 40 years Arche has been assembling its footwear in the Chateau Region of France not far from Paris. Every pair is hand crafted to perfection with the goal of providing the absolutely best product possible.

Arche Thaem -
I wanted to try a pair of Arche (even at the ridiculous price) because I'd heard good things about them. I can tell that they would be very comfortable, immediately. Unfortunately, I have to return them because the heel is too large and going down a half size would make them too tight in the rest of the foot. The toe is also very, very pointy- more than it looks in the picture, which means it does not accommodate orthotics. The design of the heel stack is a bit weird at first but is a great way to get a little height while keeping the comfort of a flat. They would look lovely on a smaller foot and if you do not need inserts they would be comfortable for walking all day and could be dressed up for evening. In other words, versatile for a vacation.

Sleek yet funky -
I've been looking for a low-heeled, non-matronly shoe to wear with skirts and this is it! When I tried it on in the store in NYC the saleswoman told me it was cut wider than other Arche styles and she was right--I wear a C width, which made other styles I tried a bit snug. This one felt comfy with plenty of room in the width. (I ordered it from (ever-wonderful) Zappos.com because the store didn't have black in my size.) It is very comfortable--great for walking--and the shape of the front cut-out, below the ankle-strap, is reminiscent of pumps from the '20s and '30s--very flattering to the foot. They are not at all matronly but cute and funky on. They aren't inexpensive either, but, considering the comfort and look, I'm thinking of them as a good investment. And Zappos was terrific, as always.

Great shoe for work and dressing up -
You can be "on your feet" in this shoe and feel comfortable all day wearing them. The first day wearing this shoe (black), I wore them to work and then straight on to a concert. Afterwards, we could not get a taxi. Had to walk about ten blocks in New York City to the hotel. In almost any other shoe, I would have expected a lot of discomfort and maybe blisters. Neither happened with this shoe. My only "complaint" is that if your foot is chubby, it will rub the top of the toe box a bit. The laces are nice to keep the shoe from slipping when you walk. I will probably buy them again in another color.

Great shoe. Comfortable, beautiful. I currently own 5 pairs of Arche shoes (boots and sandals). I have ALWAYS bought size 41. While this pair says 41 on the bottom, they felt and looked a bit small. So I held them up to all my other Arche shoes, and indeed, these are smaller than usual. Have to return them for this reason only.

Tres Uber Chic -
I never bought a pair of Arche shoes before, but these shoes were hard to resist because of the look and previous rave reviews. Besides being very, very comfortable, these shoes are Euro chic and classy. They will go very well with slacks and jeans. For me, I cannot see wearing them with dressy outfits. These shoes are great for walking the streets in Paris, London, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and even Denver. You will look like you belong in Elle magazine. I usually wear a size 6. The 6 fits a bit large, but after inserting my arch supports, they are a good fit. The suede is of excellent quality, and the patent gives it a bit of pizzazz. I always spray my suede shoes with Scotch Guard to protect them. I've received many compliments on them. The rubber sole seems extremely sturdy, so I expect many long and comfortable walks in these shoes. Many kudos to Arche and Zappos for offering Cocco.

This is my first pair of Arche shoes, and Cocco is very stylish and comfortable. The shoe has excellent quality suede with a bit of patent leather for some class and pizzazz. They come up high around the ankle, but it is not uncomfortable. I usually wear a size 6. The 6 feels a tad larger than most shoes, however, when I put my arch supports in them, it was a perfect fit. They are very comfortable for all day walking, and you will truly look uber classy in them at the airport, on busy streets, in jeans, or nice slacks.

Best ballet flats ever - As a devoted fan of ballet flats I was totally bowled over by my pair of Arche Laius flats in a lovely crinkly silver that arrived today. They are truly the most comfortable, amazing ballet flat I have EVER worn. The cushiness of the insole is akin to walking on pillows, and this is one of the few ballet flats that doesn't slip in the heel and fits my foot like a glove. I have a feeling I'll be getting some more of these in other colors. As for sizing: definitely go up a size if you're a half size like me. Im usually a US 6.5 but got these in the European 38 (US 7s) and they're perfect.

The shoe is generally very comfortable; however, the metal ring rubs against my ankle bone. But since the strap is adjustable, I am able to move it to a more comfortable position. I love the low heel and 'cushy' feel when walking.

Gladiator Comfort!
The Gladiator look is not the most complimentary to our feet and legs; however, I was willing to give this one a try since Arche makes such a good shoe. I ordered a 40 (I wear a 9 1/2) which is my regular Arche size, but was puzzled when it fit well around the heel and ankle, but protruded a good inch or more at the top. I suppose if i had very long toes, this would be a great shoe, but these are average length toes. A smaller size would probably mean the heel falling off the back. Thank you to Zappos for any easy return process!

This shoe is typical of the quality of Arche shoes, however, this style was too big all over for my foot. I did not think a smaller size would work as they were not too long for me. I will have to return them, reluctantly, as I like them very much, as I do all of the Arche shoes I have already.

Buy these shoes!
These shoes are wonderful: comfortable, hip, sexy, walkable. Yes, they are expensive (at least in my world), but they are well worth the price. The construction is top notch and they will last several seasons. One note: I generally wear a 39, but I had to order a 40 in these.

A Great Alternative to a Sandal -
This is the best shoe...a very cute flat but it is great for summer because it is so airy. It is a great alternative to a sandal, especially for city walking because your foot is protected. I have this shoe in blue and in pink as well as this black one. People always compliment me on them when I wear them...which is practically every day! I wish that they came in even more colors!

These are beautiful and very comfortable. I bought the Sonic for walking around all day and these for those days when there's some walking and some going out for dinner in a chic cafe (wish I had more of those days!). I tried Pliners and Paul Green as well and these are by far the best combination of comfort and style. Although the toe is rounded, the top is soft and doesn't squish my square toes. Also, the wedge heel is stable for walking but the front half of the sole is flexible, so they don't "clop" on your feet the way hard wedges do. Not cheap but a lovely shoe.
