Since 1907, Sanita has embraced the Danish word “hygge” (pronounced hue-guh) in the construction of each and every pair of Sanita clogs. Loosely translated, “hygge” means “making everything cozy”. Clean design, natural materials and fine craftsmanship are just a few things that make Sanita clogs so special. Christian Andersen, Sanita’s founder, utilized these three things to help make Sanita what it is today. Andersen left his career as a farmer forever when he began creating clogs out of wood. After a half-century of building the business, Christen and his son Johannes closed their successful store and completely devoted themselves to designing and distributing footwear. This risky maneuver paid off in the early 1980’s.
1983 marked a definitive year for Sanita – that’s the year that Christian discovered a factory in Italy that made cast soles out of polyurethane. This innovate new technology allowed Sanita to shape clog bottoms to fit the anatomical shape of the foot. With heel, arch and toe support and added shock absorption, the polyurethane heel combined with the upturned toe of the Sanita clog provided unmatched comfort and launched each and every step with a simple rolling motion. Thus, the Sanita Original Collection (then the San-Flex) was born and is still made in Europe.
Clogs have been a worker’s choice for years. Anyone who stands on their feet all day knows the benefits of wearing a finely crafted clog. More recently, clogs have become a fashion statement as well and can be seen on the feet of the fashionable world-wide. For the past 25 years, Sanita has continued to innovate with superior design, materials and hand-crafted European construction. I stand at a bench for hours at my job and have found that the right shoes are the difference between back and hip pain and being pain free. Sanita professional clogs are manufactured by the original Dansko manufacturer. I have been wearing them at work for about 10 years. I usually buy a new pair every 3 or so years because I wear them every day and I like my shoes to look good. I have never worn a pair out. My foot measures size 6 1/2 and size 37 fits perfect.

I was searching for some sandals for my swollen pregnant feet. I so enjoyed the Croco Sanitas I decided to try the sandals. These aren't "cute" sandals, but they're very comfortable and allow my feet to breathe. They have the same comfy soles the regular Sanitas have. They run a little tighter through the top than the regular Sanitas, but I'm going to keep them for after baby is born and my feet don't swell so much throughout the day.

This clog provides Sanita\'s usual excellent arch support. It is a little high on the instep for me, but some stretching solved that. The gray color was a little lighter than I thought, but I liked it. I must say that if one foot hits the other while wearing these clogs, there is a terrible squeak of patent leather contact!

The shoes are comfortable and fit nicely. The only complaint I have is that after a month of normal use, a small portion of the heal has broken off the side. I am concerned about the craftsmanship and if these can last 10 years as other posts have mentioned.

Better than Dansko. I'm new to leather clogs. I first read that Danskos are the best, and then that Danskos had moved their factory. The original Dansko manufacturer, Sanita, then chose to sell their European made clogs under their own name. I bought a pair of Dansko and Sanita Professional Cabrio clogs, both the same size and color (brown). In my opinion, the Sanita clogs are a lot better. Here's a comparison: (1) Outer soles: The outer soles of the Danskos were a hard, smooth plastic, not quite as hard as LEGOs, but interestingly not too far off. This made the shoes quite slippery to wear, as in I could do pirouettes in them. The Sanita outer soles were much softer, more rubbery, and the grip to the ground was much better. (2) Footbed: I don't have problematic feet, so to me the footbeds seem about the same. (3) Leather upper: I think the Sanitas outperform Danskos hands down for the leather upper. The Dansko leather was very stiff and rigid, and it absolutely stank! The smell is definitely a chemical smell, something that made me very uncomfortable (the effect was similar to smelling a permanent marker). My guess is it's what they used to shine the leather, although it could be from anything. The Sanitas, however, were just plain nice. The leather was much softer and more supple. The smell was a light leather smell, similar to a leather handbag. The softer leather of the Sanitas was much more comfortable to wear than the stiff Dansko leather. (4) Color: I got the brown Cabrio Professional from both Dansko and Sanita, and the colors were pretty much exactly the same. (5) Sizing: I think the Dansko pair was a weeny bit bigger than the Sanita pair. For me, I'm keeping the Sanitas and returning the Danskos.

I love these shoes. I love the little bit of funk they bring to ordinary scrubs and I have yet to wear these (even with jeans) when I did not receive a compliment. They are a tiny bit tighter than some of my other pair of Sanita clogs, but I assume that is due to the material. As another reviewer already pointed out, the material is not the least bit water resistant so don't wear them on a rainy day. Otherwise, these shoes are durable and comfortable and my favorite Sanita clogs thus far.

These Sanita shoes are absolutely fantastic. This is my second pair, the first with the back out and I really like them. They are comfortable, I don't feel like I have to curl my toes to keep them on and my feet are nice and 'stress free' at the end of the day. One suggestion, since the inside of the shoe is black, it might be best to wear black socks with them unless you are okay with having black dye on your socks. I don't know yet, if this 'dye' issue stops after many wears or not. Whether you buy a pair of closed back or open back Sanitas, you can't go wrong. They are worth the money and are the best! Woo hoo!

Perfect size 9, great arch support, comfortable immediately. Good clog for running errands, walking dog, errands. The blue is insanely bright and shiny, gets a lot of attention, good with my too-black winter wardrobe. For comfort and solid quality, worth the price. Minor gripe: black finish on staples wears off quickly.

I love these shoes!!!! I\'ve gotten lots of compliments on them!!! Only problem I had with them is that I have a long second toe and I usually wear a size 41 in Dansko but due to the longer toe I had to give the 41 to my sister and purchased the size 42. Other than that the shoe is perfect....

I was searching for a comfortable but cool looking shoe. I am a teacher and stand on my feet all day and walk on concrete hallways. I have always worn Modellista clogs but when I saw the Merrie Cabrios I gave them a try and I really love them. They are true to size and feel great on my feet. I am going to buy them in all the colors. Now I can have a little more style with my comfort!

I already own one pair of Sanita clog boots and love them. These looked great with their fuzzy lining, but I returned them for two reasons: 1. You can only wear them folded over, not with a tall boot shaft. 2. The top part of the boot is made from a cheap synthetic fabric and doesn't work well with the suede shoe fabric.

I bought these shoes 2 weeks ago and my feet have not hurt for 2 weeks! I am a nurse and have worn New Balance and Saucony walking shoes in the past, but these shoes put those to shame. After 12 hours on my feet, not only do my feet not hurt, neither do my hips or knees! They seemed clunky at first, but really, they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! Also, I have to say how fast Zappos is. I ordered these shoes on a Thursday and had them at 9 a.m. the next day. You can't beat that! Zappos truly has the best customer service. I have been buying from them for years and will continue to!

For years I've worn the Dansko Professional Cabrio faithfully. I worked for an airline and stood at work 12+ hours a day, and no other shoe allowed me to do so without throbbing pain in my feet and legs. I also have high arches and I love the support these shoes give me. I even wear these shoes and several other novelty pairs that I own on my days off from work. I no longer work for the airline, but I'm hooked! I rarely wear any other shoes! However, I've recently read about the outsourcing of Dansko, so I ordered the Sanita Professional Cabrio to compare them to my original Danskos. They are the same shoe and they even have the original Dansko patent number (0000240) stamped on the bottom. I love the blue and I'm thrilled to add them to my collection. However, other than the fact that I love my shoes, I love Zappos! I ordered them last night at 840P MT and they arrived today at 1P! Zappos upgraded my shipping for free and I received them in less than 24 hours! Now that's customer service and I'll continue to order my Sanita clogs from Zappos! Thank you!

So here is the thing. I really want a pair of the professional style clogs in a patent. I am a 9.5 and have wide feet. First I ordered the 40 and 41 from Dansko. 40 was too small and the 41 was too big. Then I ordered the 40 and 41 in Sanita. 40 was really small and the 41 fit perfectly except the instep on the Sanita is higher than that in the Dansko (or at least that is my memory). So the Dansko is comfortable, but too big and the Sanita fits, but the instep is really bugging me so I will be returning the Sanitas, too. Thank goodness for free shipping from Zappos!

I purchased these clogs because I have a particularly high instep. Most clogs end up causing pain on the tops of my feet; any swelling during the course of the day becomes unbearable. The elastic gores in these clogs do help to alleviate the tightness. After several wearings, I've broken them in enough to be comfortable. If I had the choice, however, I'd have eliminated the elastic gore altogether and just have the velcro strap for adjusting the instep.

I\'m in my late 40\'s and have just started a job at a nursing home where I\'m on my feet most of the day. Even some of my standard shoes were not as comforable as these. I like the color, it goes with lots of pants I wear and seem to hold up to the work place dress code. I have widish feet, and I don\'t do well with any kind of heel. I went large with these, I usually wear a 8.5 size but went with the 40 which is said to fit 9. Anyway, I can wear these every day, as they have become my comfort shoe.

After an unsuccessful store search for Sanita clogs in my size (40), I ordered some from another on line site. When they didn\'t fit, I had to pay the return shipping fee. Not so with Zappos. I checked out their free return policy before ordering. To my delight, I was notified of their shipping date by email, the shoes arrived promptly, and all that was needed for returns was included. Luckily, I didn\'t need the latter as I am very happy with my new clogs. Thank you, Zappos.
