Lomography started when Igor Kornitzky, right-hand man to the USSR Minister of Defense and Industry, introduced his comrade, Michail Panfilowitsch to a little Japanese mini-camera. Michail, being the Director of the powerful LOMO Russian Arms and Optical Factory, instantly recognized the potential of the camera’s superior nature and gave immediate orders to copy and improve the camera’s design. The LOMO LC-A was born and took Russia by storm.
Today, the Lomography brand group corporate mission statement is based on the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography. This set of rules encompasses the mission of lomographers everywhere – to take as many impossible photos as possible. Looking to not just create another camera, the Lomography brand actively encourages lomographers to submit and share their pictures with the world. In fact, Lomography even publishes multiple photo booklets and includes them with many of their cameras.

Their service is beyond anything I've experienced in years. Not only do they provide free shipping both ways, they make the return a cinch and allow you to return shoes a whole year after you bought them. The best part is an order I placed Thursday night at 11:00 p.m. and despite not paying an additional fee for speedy shipping, my shoes were at the house by noon the next day!
