Versatile, Comfortable, Attractive Shoe -
My Ara Portland’s are so comfy, straight out of the box ...wore them to work. They looked great with my business casual chinos, as well as with my weekend jeans.
I chose the beautiful Mocca Croco, a rich chocolate brown. Stunning!
The leather is wonderfully soft. To maintain the shoe's shape, insert a pair of shoe trees in them after each wearing ...a good practice for all leather footwear. Add a dab of polish, and your shoes will always look fresh and new.
Zappos upgraded my shipping, so they arrived Monday, even though the order was placed Friday afternoon ...nothin' but LOVE for the ZAPPOS TEAM!

Good but Inconsistent -
I purchased a pair of ara's Bali shoe last year and they were fabulous. They were very comfortable and wore like iron especially walking on New York City streets. Lucky for me, they also run wide. I reordered two more pairs this fall and it appeared that that they were a bit different. The picture looked the same. However, the heels were not stacked rather they were made of a very shiny material which would not have been my preference. One pair fit well so I kept them. The other pair did not so I returned them. I hope this new model wears as well as last year's model.

So comfortable and stylish -
I love this shoe. I had been looking for a shoe that I could wear with brown or cream trousers and this shoe has brown, rust, olive, and cream colors, so it is very versatile. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9 size and ordered the EU 6. At first I was not so sure of the fit. They felt slightly tight and the sole felt funny and uneven under the ball of my foot, but they were so pretty that I took a chance that the leather weave would stretch a bit and the sole just needed to be worn a bit. After a couple of wearings they molded to my foot perfectly and now they feel like I am wearing slippers. I have worn them frequently now for several months and they are my favorite shoe. I have gotten so many compliments on them. Worth every expensive penny.

These sandals look great. When putting them on, I move to the very last hole of the ankle strap, and the strap still binds me. I don't have this problem with other shoes, so I'm sure the ankle strap is too short. After I wear them for 5 minutes, I can feel the crossed straps in front are rubbing my toes. They are not tight, but stiff.

Love the look so I bought two - I have had several positive comments on these sandals. They are mostly comfortable. They have been rubbing my foot a bit, but I believe once they are broken in they'll be 100% great.

This is a good, comfortable sandal in keeping with the Ara line. It can not be called delicate; it is a bit boxy but the styling is cool and it is quite versatile. I wore it with a pretty dressy dress to a country wedding, and it was fine. I like Ara very much and have rarely been disappointed. I recommend this shoe.

Love this waterproof boot!
I was looking for a stylish waterproof boot for my daughter who will be going to college in Northern California. Not easy to find in Southern California where it never rains! I ordered these boots, Zappos upgraded my shipping, and they arrived the next day! My daughter loves the way they look and fit and I feel good knowing that she'll have dry feet at college. Comfy, like chocolate for your feet...
The shoe has a rich brown color and lots of style - silver trim "buckle", suede and a croc-look to the leather. Goes great with all pants, especially the really boring pants. Comfy at first wear.

These shoes are wonderfully made and very handsome. The lining is delicious soft leather, the upper is rich in color and texture, and the bed is nicely padded. Unfortunately I had to return it because it is just too wide, even with my bunion.

I wanted a black sling for the spring transition time when boots are too much and strappy sandals too little. The sling was ok for comfort. The toe box had enough room and wasn't foolishly pointed, so I tried a foam ball-of-foot pad (as the shoe has very little padding). The heel height was perfect. Tasteful metal details. The finish on the leather was matte - not polished - and soft. They looked nice on with dress pants. All said, nice dress shoes, but I didn't love them, and for the price, I wanted shoelove.

Run big and kind of dowdy -
These shoes run big in length and width. I have had other European shoes and the size conversion was fine (U.S. 8 = size 39), but this with the 5.5 wasn't right. Also, the shoe generally is very wide. Even the smaller size would have been too wide and I have tough time fitting into some U.S. medium widths. I thought the shoe looked more stylish in the picture and was matronly in person (and I'm no spring chicken!).

This is a great shoe!
The ara St. Tropez is true to size with built in comfort and great style and I can wear them with or without pantyhose. The high heels make my legs look sexy without hurting my feet and the white piping adds interest. I receive compliments whenever I wear them. A wonderful summer shoe. This shoe is solid on your feet so you can walk, stride, jump and move in the high heels without worry. Just throw on a little black dress, some jewelry and the ara St. Tropez shoes and you are ready to go.

Needed a comfy shoe that looked dressy enough!
I was invited to a ship christening in Europe. I needed a shoe that looked dressy that I could wear with nice black pants and a blazer. I also needed a shoe that was comfortable enough to walk all around the ship in - including going up and down many sets of stairs. After the tour of the ship, I stood around talking to people for several hours. These shoes were great. Comfortable and no blisters! They were exactly what I needed for this event.

I needed a summer shoe to wear to work with pants and this works perfectly. Super comfortable. I am a true medium that favors the wide side and this shoe has plenty of room in the box. Sides tend to come up a tad high but I like that because it feels like it surrounds your entire foot and will not slip off. Very sophisticated looking, good high quality leather- not cheap looking.

FINALLY the PERFECT pump!
This is the MOST COMFORTABLE pump-type shoe I have EVER worn! It's magnificent. It looks beautiful, is constructed well. I ordered the brown, am now ordering a black pair. Does seem a little shorter than I'm used to, so I am ordering my second pair in a half size bigger. I absolutely love these shoes! I have been walking up and down the stairs at work and all over the building and have had no problems.

This shoe is adorable. It's kind of like a dressier sneaker with a very European look. You'd never find a shoe like this at the mall. Very breathable, very comfortable. It will look great with white pants; I'm not sure about it with a skirt, it would depend on the length. The shoe is very different, and extremely cute.
