Birkenstock® USA, began over 30 years ago when the founder, Margot Fraser, had a dream of sharing the comfort and health benefits of Birkenstock shoes. Most Birkenstock and Birki's footbeds are crafted from a cork-latex mixture. The cork used is 100% renewable and sustainable harvested from the Oak tree. The harvesting of the cork does not harm the Oak Tree and allows for new bark to grow back beginning the life cycle all over again. Each contoured footbed will molds and shapes to your foot with the heat of your body creating a custom footbed that supports and cradles each and every step. I ordered these shoes for a lengthy Disney trip, expecting to walk at least 8+ hours a day and needing a shoe that was not bulky, that I could wear often, and would be comfortable. I normally wear a 6.5/7 when I wear a shoe without socks, and I bought a 7.5 which worked out well. I put these shoes on in the AM and they were great - no blisters, binding, etc. but were completely comfortable for walking around the park, sometimes holding a 35 lb. child. I am very pleased with them - with the comfort, but also they were very cute with casual dresses/skirts. I will be ordering a 2nd pair in another color.

The construction of the shoe makes it fit a bit too high on my outer ankles. In fact, the right shoe cut my right outer ankle when I wore the shoes to the supermarket. The solution was primitive but effective. I took a pair of shears and gradually cut away slivers of the ankle portion of each shoe until they no longer rubbed. Otherwise, the shoes are typically great Birkenstock workmanship and Zappos, of course, delivered them overnight like lightning and in flawless condition. I never buy shoes anywhere except Zappos any more.

Beautiful, great craftsmanship, comfort. I have many Birkenstock shoes. This is first soft bed. It is wonderful for standing and walking on hard surfaces. I do have knee and hip discomfort. Love them and highly recommend. On the soft footbed, for closed toe shoes, get a size larger if you are going to wear socks.

Great sandal - I've been buying black sandals all summer, but none of them were comfortable enough to wear all day. These are amazing. They are a pleasure to put on and keep on. I had a pair in brown, but wear a lot of black, so I got the black on Zappos. The black pair doesn’t quite look as nice as the brown, but still very nice.

Great buy!
Okay, they are not the prettiest things to look at, but they are great for your feet. We moved to a house with hard wood floors and my feet, knees, and ankles were killing me by the end of the day. I wear these shoes as my "inside" shoes and they have made a huge difference. The soft bed option is really nice. I have a slim, flat foot. Ordered the narrow and they fit fine.

I love the Ibiza - I had a pair of these in 1991 and walked all over Great Britain in them. Then had them re-soled and wore them for another several years. Finally I had to get rid of them because the leather straps were looking ratty. Now I have another pair and I love them just the same. So comfortable, great arch support, easily worn with or without socks...can't say enough about them.

A fine sandal with maximum comfort. Sometimes they slip off, so I suppose I should tighten them. My last pair lasted 11 years but they were falling apart and my mom threw them out, unbeknownst to me.

So comfortable!
Not so beautiful, but what Birkenstock is? I am 67 and having some knee problems, hard time walking too long, etc. My daughter recommended Birkenstock (she's 41), but said they were "hippie" shoes. I’m now a happy, comfortable Birkenstock hippie walker. I have a very narrow foot & they are adjustable to probably AAA width. I usually wear a 10 and did have to go with the 11 - but with free Zappos shipping, I just exchanged. P.S. - my young grandchildren love them!

Good, tough "sensible shoes" -
I found myself really liking this shoe more than I thought I would. I needed a full shoe with a Birkenstock footbed that wasn't a hiking shoe and not a clog. This was a good choice: roomy toe box, soft leathers. It wears well and is good with pants. I ordered the next size up as the toes felt a bit cramped in my usual sandal size.

My favorite Birks of all!
These sandals are by far my favorite. The color and design, (black silky flowers) go great with so many things. Have had numerous compliments and very little break-in time with this style. I have had quite a bit of heel pain and Achilles tendonitis this past year, but I've gone back to my Birkenstocks and am now gratefully, pain-free! Zappos service is the best!

Fantastic sandal - For those of us who have high arches and get horrible pains in the feet when wearing flats, this is our shoe! Also, I wear a C width and usually have issues with that (Bs are too narrow, Ds are too wide) but with this shoe it's perfect. All I have to do is adjust the straps.

Perfect - I have these same shoes in black that I had purchased for a trip to Greece and had found them to be the perfect shoe for me. I needed a brown sandal that would also lend itself to wearing with something nicer than a crop or short. This shoe gives me the arch support I need. My feet and back do not hurt after wearing for a long time. Also with the stones, it’s a little dressier. I am pleased with Birkenstock and now I am wondering what I can order for the winter that I will like as well.

Best nurse shoe! 2nd pair of these. Had first for 10 YEARS!!! The first pair still looked BRAND new up to the day they had an accident. Hardly any wear at all. The only reason I had to replace was because my husband ran over them with the car! And the top of them split. Ha! Ha! What a SHOE! Took a car to take them out! Otherwise, best shoe EVER! Only shoe that lets me stand all day and have no pain/shin splints/etc. No corns. No pressure! Wipe 'em down easy and DONE! They do fit a little box like though, but, to me, feels like a loose slipper. Does take a little getting used to. I prefer these over the SUPER BIRKI'S, for the higher back, otherwise, my foot slips out. They run HUGE and WIDE! Your feet definitely BREATHE. So, order down. I wear a 6, actually fit the US 4-4.5 with still room for movement. Hard to find trendy shoe for nursing, these are so cute on. Tried good cute tennies too, and they suffocate my feet and make 'em sweat. Work in busy ICU 12 hours, sometimes 16! Couldn't ask for a better shoe to get me through my days. Have tried SO MANY, and will use these for the rest of my career.

These shoes are fantastic. Cute and really comfortable. I knew they ran slightly big and ordered a little smaller than usual and they fit perfect. And Zappos shipping was amazing. I ordered them at home one night and they were at my office the next day, after lunch!

First off…amazing shipping from Zappos. I got the shoes before I got the order tracking number. FREE OVERNIGHT SHIPPING? Amazing. Next I work in a kitchen 12-17 hours a day and standing on hard tile all day really starts to wear down the body. I haven't owned a clog yet that feels so firm and supportive. I think paying the extra money will be worth it in the long run. I had pledged myself to "klogs" for such a long time but they really started to give me issues with my toes. Hopefully this shoe totally resolves all issues. Feels great so far 5 stars.

Love this shoe!!!
I have a very high arch and normally wear orthotics. These shoes give me excellent support and it is so nice to be able to wear a sandal and not have to wear the orthotic. I would like to see more of the Birkenstocks with the high arch footbed and I would like to see more variety in the color and also I would like to see this available in the smooth leather rather than the suede. I normally take a 6 1/2 wide in a closed shoe, but I got the 36 Regular in this and it was perfect.

I should have tried them sooner!
I am a big fan of the regular Birkenstocks. I don't know why I haven't tried the soft footbeds up to now. Maybe I thought that a good thing couldn't be improved upon... but it can. The soft footbeds are the icing on the cake of a great shoe. The Tahiti is an attractive, feminine style, and the Birko-Flor is as nice as the leather and a little more affordable. I am a good size 10, but find that the 40 regular in the Birkenstocks fits me best.

Love this shoe - This is my second pair. I wore my other ones out in a year. I have trouble with foot pain, but these shoes help a lot. I even walk and jog in them sometimes! Thanks for carrying such a great shoe.

I ordered the Birkenstock Alabama shoes because I like how they look. It took me 3 weeks to break them in. I work 12 hours 3 and 4 days a week and my feet were killing me. Once I got them broken in, they are so comfortable. I love how they look, feel, and fit. I wear a size 8, but I ordered a size 38. They are nice and roomy. These are very expensive, but if your feet are killing you, you would end up spending that money and more to get your feet feeling good again at a doctor’s office. These shoes will last for years and I will not wear anything else at work. Thanks Zappos for good customer service.
