New Potatoes is a division of Sweet Potatoes, Inc. which was founded in 1978 by Anna Tokunaga and Josie Jurczenia; two young moms with the shared dream of creating bright, imaginative kids’ clothing. Ginny Holmes joined Sweet Potatoes’ clothing company in 1981. Since then, the three have worked hand-in-hand to move the company from the living room to one of largest and most renowned manufacturers of children's clothing in the United States.
Currently, the Sweet Potatoes Inc. Company produces clothing under eight labels including New Potatoes, knit playwear-inspired clothing from infant to toddler. The New Potatoes division caters to boys and girls from newborn to toddler, with their soft and cuddly fabrics. The main philosophy with New Potatoes clothing is that comfort should be the most important feature of baby clothes.
A dedication to "feel good," all-natural fabrics, is evident in the company's newborn and layette collections.
