Where does the recent inspiration for Vans product come from?
To accurately describe the inspiration behind the shoe line, we need to look at some landmarks from 2003:
- Last year Vans recaptured the essence of their shoes, infusing rich heritage with the modern materials and construction.
- Emphasis was put on proprietary Vans details such as the sidestripe, original logos and “made in the USA” specifications.
- Strong signature shoes such as the “XL2” and “TNT” (signature models of Geoff Rowley and Tony Trujillo” were key developments.
What are some of the recent accomplishments of the Vans skate team?
Tony Trujillo, also known as the “All Terrain Destroyer”, won Thrasher Magazine’s Skater of the Year award. All Vans riders took time to film one of the most successful skateboarding tours ever, “Pleased to Meet You”, which traveled to 12 countries and across Europe, as well as numerous cities in the United States.
What exciting new technical features can I expect from Vans in 2004?
3 Main performance enhancing features are on their way from Vans: Comfort Control with CoolMax (so your feet don’t sweat), Duracap (to fend off grip tape), and Truefit sockliners (designed to provide a more customized, stable fit). Why do those checkerboard slip on Vans look so familiar?
They were worn by Sean Penn who played “Jeff Spicoli” in the movie “Fast Times At Ridgemont High”, of course.

Rockin' the Vans.
These shoes are incredibly comfortable and come in so many looks you are bound to find something for yourself. I got the paint by numbers vans and I love them to death, I hardly wear any of my other shoes. I walk around in them all the time and my feet never hurt. They are just perfect!

Comfort classic and stylish!
I LOVE these slip ons! I have them in all black, with black soles (didn't see that option on Zappos - yet) decided to go with the all white version. I wear these shoes to work!! Ok I am a graphic designer, but they look good with both skirts and pants. THANK YOU ZAPPOS for carrying Vans!

I haven't worn a pair of Vans Classic Slip-Ons for many years. I forgot how comfortable these shoes are. The green diamonds, four leaf clovers and skull leprechauns make these shoes magically delicious.

I wore a pair of Vans Rowleys for about 5 years, finally had to buy new, and bought these. They took about 2-3 days to break in the heel and sole, but now I like them even better than my last shoe--they are extremely comfortable and they look cool.

My son loves these, they were comfortable from the start, they seem to provide good support for his feet, which tend to pronate slightly, and as an avid skateboarder he says he can "feel the board". They have got pretty scuffed up pretty fast, but that's the case with anything they wear to a skate park...

My 12yr old loves these shoes - My son wears these with this uniform as well as for casual dress days. They are easy to put on and very comfortable. These are the only shoes my son has worn over the past 3 years – since he out grew his Stride Rites.

We purchased two pairs of Vans Kids Slip-Ons. They are a great looking shoe. My daughter is almost a size 5 in women's shoes. However, she is only 8 and her foot has not developed completely and so her heel is not as wide as an adult’s. Thus, her foot has a tendency to slip out of most shoes, but in this case, his feet did not slip out. They are not narrow either which is great for growing, active feet. Arch support is moderate, but my daughter said she is comfy and she loves the leopard look. The youth size 3 is a rare find in a good looking comfy shoe. Be mindful that these shoes are great, but they are not really meant for walking and running around for 4+ hours. My daughter only complained of rubbing on the top of her toes after walking and playing at a theme park for about 5 hours. She never complains when she is in her Nike running shoes, so it's just something to keep in mind. In summary, she loves the look, they are comfy and serve their purpose... for us at least.

Awesome shoes!
I really like the shoes and love the fact that they are so much less expensive than the stores. I wasn't really sure of my size so I went into a store and tried on a pair of Vans. When they arrived, the shoes were the perfect size! It helps knowing that I can ship them back for free if the didn't fit.

I was looking forward to receiving the shoes but was very disappointed when I got them. When I opened the box, all appeared well...until I took a closer look at the wedge of the shoe. It was not constructed of cork but of some kind of adhesive paper made to resemble cork (that was used to dress the exterior surface of the wedge). It made the shoe look very cheap! The rest of the shoe seemed to be really solid in that it was sturdy and the shoe fit my feet well. If it were not for the poor workmanship of the wedge I probably would have kept the shoe. Sorry...but I had to send this one back.

A great purse for someone that likes a small purse like I do. The material is easy to clean any spots. The front pocket closes with a snap and also contains a storage area for pens. (No more digging to the bottom of the purse to find the elusive pen). The shoulder strap easily adjusts in length. The only thing that I miss is not having a pocket on the inside for my cell phone. It seems to be well constructed; I would definitely buy from this label again. It’s a great purse to carry with jeans or other casual attire.

Best skate/chill shoes ever -
I recently bought this beautiful shoe in Navy, it is absolutely the best shoe ever. I skate and I chill with these shoes and the comfortness of the mids are bomb. They cuff around the ankle so they feel like they won't fall off your feet, which is also really comfortable. Living in Cali, you gotta have these hella cool shoes. I go everywhere with these shoes now, whether its partying, skating, chillin’, and going to hardcore shows, these bomb ass shoes will stay on my feet for as long as possible. The only problem is that it's pretty difficult to put these shoes on so either loosen up the top laces or use a shoe horn. Other than that, go buy a pair. I may buy another pair in red. And another opinion, just stick with the original simple colors that makes it look so special.

Great boots! They are warm, nice looking and I can't wait for our first snowstorm. I usually take a 9-1/2 and ordered a 10. Big mistake! Zappos was great at sending me a pair in size 9; much better. Thank you Zappos; you've made a convert out of me!

Just right for any occasion -
I am a certified Vans addict. Growing up in Orange County, these were the shoes we wore. It's nice to know that 20 years later, these same shoes are still as fashionable and as versatile as ever. I have about 20 different pairs in my closet (easy to accomplish when they're so reasonably priced) and I can wear them with everything from shorts to slacks and they look right at home. Add their greatness to the greatness of Zappos and their free shipping and amazing customer service and these shoes are a complete no-brainer. So, do yourself a favor a buy a few pair.

These shoes are very cute, but I agree with a previous reviewer who noted that these seem to run small. These feel about a half-size smaller than marked. (I wear a 9 usually, but it felt like an 8.5.) I wish I had returned them for a larger size!

These are fun shoes!
The fit is great. The shoe looks great. I got the black and white checkered. I love them! At the end of a long work day, they are still comfortable. Beware though, if you need arch support, these shoes don't really have much.

I fell in love with these shoes from the first moment I saw them, and I have to say that Vans hasn't let me down in my expectations. The only issue I have with them is that the bottom isn't as cushioned as the rest of the Old Skool line shoes, so it took a little getting used to having my feet closer to the ground. Also, the design matches any outfit, making them a great everyday shoe, especially for work, and they're cute yet comfortable.

Great look, moderate comfort - The shoes look wonderful in various casual settings. They're comfortable for ambling about the office/store/house. However, any extended time on your feet/long walks don't lend themselves to these shoes.
