Mountain Hardwear: Radical Thinking
In 1993, a small group of people who had weathered years in the outdoor industry decided to get together and form Mountain Hardwear. The founders bet on experience and passion for innovative, technologically advanced products to bring together a product line for the serious outdoor user. Creating new, innovative technologies, Mountain Hardwears gear, apparel and accessories continue to transcend all boundaries and march head first into the future.
More than a decade later, Mountain Hardwear has grown quite a bit, but the employees still remain friendly and down-to-earth, and the products are still bomber. Mountain Hardwear employees share a passion for the outdoors along with a passion for designing innovative, technologically advanced gear. The company sponsors over 20 athletes, and uses those real-world challenges and experiences to continue to advance the technology and fabrics built into its products.
Mountain Hardwear has always focused on bringing radical thinking to the gear they make. Innovations include their patented Cross Flow™ tent construction, WindStopper® next-to-skin fabric and their patented Quantum Expander™ for sleeping bags, to name just a few. The company continually challenges itself to bring technical innovation to outdoor gear and to create detail-oriented design features that anticipate users' needs. They combine that innovation and attention to detail with superior product quality backed with a lifetime warranty that speaks for itself. Radical Thinking technical innovation and meticulous attention to detail. Mountain Hardwear makes gear to perform when you need it most.

Fitted, with flare!
This is definitely a bell-legged pant, at least if you're petite, and the length is definitely for an average-height (not short) person. The waistband can be folded (or hiked up or down) but is also hefty and a bit rigid, so you'll need to size accordingly for comfort. The pant fabric is substantial, too--good for cool weather--yet quite stretchy and forgiving. I like that it's cotton, so there's not that slight clamminess I sometimes feel after several hours of wearing some supposedly "wicking" synthetics.

Saw the other reviews about these shoes running narrow and small. I need a narrow shoe and these fit perfectly. The thing that surprised and delighted me about Zappos is your FAST service. I ordered these about 5:30 one afternoon and had them waiting for me when I got home THE NEXT DAY. And, no charge for the shipping. Amazing! Thank you!

Excellent hat!
Like all Mountain Hardwear gear this hat is very well designed. The windproof feature is the outstanding and keeps your head very warm for the thin nature of the hat. And the "tiger" color perfectly matches my other "tiger" gear. So important for impressing chipmunks and dear!

Nice, If I Had Another Body -
I ordered these pants because I wanted them for travel and I didn't want the dorky old-lady travel pants available elsewhere. They arrived and fit nicely, except for the pockets - they were lined with some flannel-ish fabric that made them stand out from my hips somewhat. Otherwise they were great and it was with regret that I returned them. I think it was a function of my build - I have relatively narrow hips compared to my waist - so someone a little more curvy would have filled them out fine. I'm a size 12-14 and they fit fine, not too high waisted, and a nice boot leg. Overall I would recommend, if only they had fit me! Thanks as always for your great return policy.

I use this shoe for construction, much more abusive than hiking. The last pair lasted me two years of everyday use and abuse. Complete support, total comfort, non-slip sole, good for winter use or summer. I'm on my feet all day, 6 days a week, and my feet are NEVER sore or part of my body worn out. Buy these, you wont be sorry.

Wonderful pants! I bought these pants here at Zappos over 1 year ago. I've probably worn and washed them 2 times a week over the past year. They've held up wonderfully. I use them for gym workouts and for casual wear. These are the most comfortable workout pants I have. They are a relaxed fit and there is no compression with them. Very flattering since they skim your body. Recently I purchased 2 more pair.

Comfy, casual skirt -
This is really a comfortable skirt for business casual wear, but I wouldn't wear it for an important meeting or interview, it just looks too casual. That being said, the wide waistband is flattering on my 5'6" pear-shaped body, and hits just at the knee. I've washed it a few times now, and the stitches seem to have held, but they do look a little loose, like they could come out like the previous reviewer said.

from Wilmington, NC Overall Rating:
These capris looked and felt like they could tackle on any outdoor or casual environments with style and function. The nylon seems like it would be a quick dry. I was impressed with the length of them as well. For me I'm 5'5" 125 lbs and some capris look too long and make my legs seem like tree trunks, but not these. A great length. However, the waist was a bit snug and was very uncomfortable. I'm not overweight or disproportioned and I ordered a 4 and I could hardly get them buttoned, so I returned them. I would have ordered the next size up, but not sure how the leg width and length would be. I wish they would have worked out because they really look like they would last a lot of wear and tear.

Mountain Hardwear's Nailhead Pullover -
First off Zappos is one of the best retailers I deal with online. Their customer service is outstanding. (Im 6 190 lbs. 41 chest) I ordered the Nailhead in a medium which fit me in the chest but was a tad short in the sleeves and overall length, so I forced to exchange it for the large. If the medium had longer sleeves and overall length I'd give it 5 stars
Pros:
Well crafted.
Has great warmth to weight ratio.
Looks good.
Cons:
Not very wind resistant.
Not made in the USA.
Cost (although Zappos matched a lower price).

Really warm, but quite possibly the ugliest coat ever -
I needed a warm coat last year before going to live in the Andes Mountains in southern Peru. I tried this one, and yes, it's incredibly warm, but it's so ugly I eventually decided I'd rather be cold than be seen in what looks like a giant inflatable garbage bag. Even my mother (who is usually the least fashion-conscious person ever) tried on this coat and was horrified! I'd recommend North Face instead.

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Jacket -
I bought this jacket for my son. He has long arms and the sleeves were fine. I really appreciate Zappos policy of free shipping. Since this was a gift, a possible return would have been easy but he loved the jacket and will be keeping it.

Too short -
I'm 6'2'', 200 lbs and I wanted this jacket to fit so much. It is the best made, best looking down jacket out there. The fit though is too short. I bought both the large and X-large. The large fit great everywhere except that it was about 3 inches too short at the waist. It looked ridiculous. The X-large was a bit longer but I looked like a marshmallow. Basically, if you're over 6' then save your money and time and get something else. Too bad because it could be a great jacket.

Best lightweight, fashionable, warmth ever created -
I like this poodle jacket so much that after mine was lost last December, I searched on line for hours to find another just like it. I wear it every day in the winter. It's warm, lightweight AND seems to resist picking up the dog and cat hair that stick to ordinary fleece like magnets. If they were less expensive I'd buy another. Note, Mountain Hardware has changed the style for this year's poodle jacket and I don't like it nearly as much-- though it probably functions equally well.

Great piece of gear -
I just returned from the mountains of NW Pennsylvania hunting in windy temperatures in the teens. The Sub Zero underneath my shell was like wearing a sleeping bag! Extremely lightweight, great freedom of movement and packs into its own little stuff sack to tuck away when the temperature changes. I just bought a second one to give my brother for Christmas. Mountain Hardware makes an excellent quality piece of gear. I would recommend this jacket to anyone.

Comfortable and Stylish...
Ordered this jacket for Fall/Winter. Very warm and stylish, looks great with jeans and boots. I ordered one size larger, I am normally an XS but I ordered a Small because the jacket runs a little small if you plan on wearing layers under it for winter. All and all the jacket is awesome!

 | | My daughter was sick in bed right before a big dance. She wanted silver shoes for her outfit. I shopped and could not find a pair, so I went online to your site. Not only did you have silver but you had her size 5 ½, which is not so easy to find sometimes. You shipped them for free the very next day and saved the day and my daughters outfit! She loved them thank you so much for making a difficult situation much, much better!!! | | ~ , October 31 2008
