The year was 1950 when the world's first inexpensive yet utterly reliable mechanical watch movement was created and with it, a new wristwatch called the Timex. The Timex brand name became a household word during the 1960s. Having completely conquered the low-priced market, the company upgraded and diversified its product line including the first low-priced electric watches for men and women.
In the 1990s, Timex vigorously pursued its long tradition of technological innovation and market leadership. The company introduced the industry's first electroluminescent watch face in 1992, when the blue-green Indiglo® night light appeared on some of its digital and analog watches. Today, more than 75 percent of all Timex watches are equipped with the Indiglo night light®. The All-Day Indiglo® display, using a hologram-like material, provides greater contrast between digital numbers and the display background. In 1994, Timex introduced the Data Link® watch, a sophisticated wrist instrument that carries scheduling, phone numbers, and other personal information, having collaborated with Microsoft to create the necessary software to communicate the data from computer to watch. In 1998, Timex pioneered its i-Control turn n pull analog alarm watch and, in a joint venture with Motorola, a new wrist pager called Beepwear®.
Today, the Timex Corporation is the nation's leading watch manufacturer. With a large and varied line of watches, Timex has the style for everyone. From the locker room to the board room, there is a great Timex style time-piece for you.

Great sports watch - I got this watch as a Christmas gift and wear it every day. I'm a runner, so use the stopwatch function regularly. Its very easy to use, and I like that I can time laps as well. It's held up extremely well to heat, sweat, mud, water, etc. Definitely a great, functional, comfortable watch.

Great watch - Exactly what I wanted! Very comfy wristband, and so easy to slip on. Great price for how long this watch will last forever! I run and play lots of tennis and this watch stays in place rather than slipping around on my wrist. Get one, you'll love it.

Great watch -
I ordered this watch as a birthday present for my daughter who is a nursing student. She loved it. She liked the large, easy-to-read face, the hands that glow, and the Indiglo feature, but her favorite thing about the watch is that it has military time around the outside of the face. Her nursing instructor liked it so much, she ordered one for herself. My only regret is that I didn't order one for myself!

Nice watch -
Purchased this watch because of the extra long band. I have a large wrist and finding a band to go around it is sometimes hard. This one fits well. I like the easy to read dial and indigo back lighting. Good work watch as well as all around watch.

Great Deal -
I ordered this for my husband and he was utterly surprised when the watch arrived just 1 day after placing the order. It is exactly what he expected. The white face makes it easy to see and the strap is rugged, yet very comfortable. Thank you for your excellent service.

A tad too masculine looking for my petite frame.
I bought the brown band version and liked everything about this watch except the size and thickness of the case ON ME. I should have studied the description more carefully. When I read that the face (dial) was 25mm, which is a little less than one inch, I was thinking that size was okay, but the case actually measures 1-1/4 inches, which on me (5'2", 125 lbs.) is just too big. Maybe that size watch with a more girly look would be okay but that size combined with the dark dial and the thickness of the case and brown band pushed it a little too far into the masculine category. Actually, it's quite a classy-looking watch and looks considerably more expensive than it is. It boils down to this: If you lean more toward sporty than girly, or if you're taller than I am, get it. P.S. When you press the stem, the face glows a soft medium blue -- quite nice; not garish.

Nice watch BUT BEWARE!!!!!
It was supposed to adjust for smaller wrist. The velcro part was only about 3/4" that holds on after I make it fit for my smaller wrist. But every day it comes loose. I often find it unfastened, and is almost hanging by its "last thread". Right now it is lost...after I wore it to run. When I stopped at a street corner to check the time, the watch was gone.

Great starter!
This heart rate monitor is a great starter model. The watch is nice enough (and small enough) to wear for daily/work use and the chest strap is comfortable, not pinching or restricting like others. I have owned a few Timex watches...and only a few because they make products that last FOREVER! I look forward to years of great use from my new Timex HRM!

Functional, but flawed -
This watch is great for the timing and stopwatch feature. The face is easy to read and uncluttered. I wear it daily which includes swim workouts. I found that after only one month, the silver on the watch is peeling off. Disappointing since the features make this a useful watch.

This watch will not fit a slender wrist because the plastic that holds the strap is molded for a larger wrist. However, the face is easy to read, and it's a well made watch.

I have thin wrists and this watch band is quite long... I have it on the last hole and it's still a little loose. The pale pink color balances out the fact that it's huge. I would give it 5 stars if it were slightly more petite. The numbers are quite large and easy to read. I love being able to control my iPod easily and can leave the iPod in a pocket or backpack while I exercise. Sweet!

Durable watch -
I bought this watch as a watch to wear to work because I knew it would get banged up a bit. This is a very durable watch and it's purple... my favorite color. It has all of the multifunctions that I was looking for. I am very pleased with this watch.

This is finally the perfect watch for my husband. While the band is a plastic and I would prefer a metal, all the features are what he loved in the past when he had an Indiglo years ago. Not sure why more watch makers don't think the glow feature isn't important, but the depth this watch can go and the glow feature is what we were looking for. We bought the orange and it is really attractive on him and not a bad price.

Love this watch.
The leather band (I have the gray) is a beautiful color, easy to clean and dries quickly. The clock face is a nice design, easy to read and glows on its own in the dark, so you can tell the time even without using the indiglo option. I have the gray band and light blue face and the colors are nice. The metal has a nice, brushed finish. The only drawback for me is the fact that my wrist size would fit the band comfortably in between two notches, so if I use one notch, it is slightly too loose and the other notch is slightly too tight. Other than that, it's a great watch.

Better than a Rolex -
I have owned this watch for 15 years and never changed the battery. I have sailed and turtled a few times in the Caribbean, competed in a triathlon, climbed a 10,000ft mountain and always had my Expedition Chrono Alarm Timex on my wrist. Whenever I travel I wear it and know that if I lose it I can get another one and not stress the cost. My fancy watches continue to gather dust and their batteries stop every other year or so. I highly recommend this watch over a Rolex or Patek Phillipe.

Looks great, big easy to read face, but...stops occasionally -
The watch looks great. The band is more gray than brown. I have experienced on several occasions the watch stopping. Don't know what's up with that? So far have reset time and it works again...for several days then stops again.

 | | I sent back a pair of shoes that I loved, but wouldn't work. You sent me a great pair of shoes that will work. That in itself is wonderful, but the ease of ordering and exhange and the speed in which it was all accomplished, is truely amazing. I now have a new favorite shoe store
