This is the mantra that drives Icebreaker clothing.
Inspired by simple observations of nature and the merino sheep, Icebreaker was driven to develop the world's first merino layering system. Merino wool is a light fabric that provides enhanced breathability and performance while repelling odor-causing bacteria, providing the benefits of synthetic fibers without the smell.
Icebreaker clothing is made from 100 percent pure merino shorn from free-range merino sheep living on high country stations, in New Zealand's Southern Alps. Icebreaker was first in the world to pioneer merino fabric for outdoor and activewear, and continues to lead this clothing category.
The Icebreaker is a system of PURE MERINO LAYERS. Each piece can be worn solo in warm climates, or layered for insulation against the extremes. When you layer your Icebreaker with more Icebreaker, you increase wind resistance and warmth, and it breathes like you do.

Excellent staple for travel/active lifestyle -
The fit of this dress is pretty amazing... it's definitely not just a long shapeless tank-top, and looks much better on than in the photo. The details & seaming provide a fantastic fit, and the fabric feels amazing. My only complaint is that the built in shelf bra is too loose.

Great running shirt -
Great mid- to lightweight base-layer for running. Fit is athletic but not skin tight, material (100% wool) feels great next to skin during and after workouts. Icebreaker again delivers the perfect garment.

Love Icebreaker!
I own this tank top and, typical of Icebreaker, the quality is unmatched by competitors. The price is high, but it will last forever as long as you don't accidentally put it in the dryer. I use it for a base layer while hiking and snowshoeing. My only complaint is that the bottom of the shirt rolls up and looks "wiggly" after I wash it. Since I'm wearing it as an undergarment, it doesn't bother me, but it might bother somebody that is trying to be fashionable. The straps are adjustable, which I need, but occasionally my backpack with rub on the metal brackets used to adjust the strap. It's slightly uncomfortable, but has never left me with an open sore of even a red mark. I would highly recommend if you're interested in investing in high quality wool clothing for outdoor activities year-round.

Very nice for long johns -
These are very nice and worked well as long underwear for a recent ski trip. I planned to wear them as leggings also, but after wearing them to ski, they do kinda stretch out a bit. The crotch also seems pretty long (longer than I am used to w/ low rise jeans) Overall though, they were very nice, thick, and kept me very warm.

The older version was better designed -
I have two of the Icebreaker Chakra Zip tops from a year ago and they are my favorite tops for cool-weather running and backpacking. The wool is very fine and not itchy, and smells a lot better than synthetic fabrics after several days in the outdoors. However, I like my old Chakras better than this redesigned version--this new one has a higher neck which flaps against my chin if I run with it unzipped, which I do after warming up, whereas the old one was more like a mock-neck and laid flat even when unzipped. Also, they moved the embroidered logo from the bottom hem to the left chest and it unfortunately reminded me too much of the old logo on my CB ski jacket from the 80s. For those two reasons I had to return this top and give it only 4 stars for comfort and look, although Icebreaker still makes better wool tops than most other companies. I hope that next season Icebreaker returns to the former design.

I love Icebreaker merino wool...I use mine for exercising at the gym, but it looks great as a tank with jeans. It is odorless (even after workouts) easy care gentle cycle in the washer. I highly recommend this brand.

Best ever!
These are totally worth the price! I bought a bunch of Icebreaker clothes before going to live in Peru for several months (and another couple months backpacking across South America) last year.
I hated forking over all that cash for a couple of undershirts, but I spent my whole trip feeling thankful that I did! They kept me nice and warm, didn't itch at all, and best of all didn't smell (laundry facilities were pretty tough to come by!). Highly recommended.

"Slim fit" means short -
Very nice, soft, comfortable shirt. Sleeve length is fine, body length is very short. Icebreaker as far as I know only sells "slim" fit items.
I still like the shirt, but it does run small. I'd have to flip a coin to figure out if I’d buy it again or not.

I have never seen anything delivered that fast. Ordered 6p.m. yesterday, got it 4p.m. today. Ok, onto the boxers... Same cut as the 150s… Just amazing stuff, more comfy than cotton, warm even when soaking in sweat. They also do better on holding off body odor than cotton or synthetics. They’re super good in hot and cold weather or the super long haul at the office. Also would like to point out that out of all my high end wool cloths, Icebreaker wins in quality and, more times than not, value. This is good stuff. Hope this helps, have fun out there.

How can you describe the greatest piece of clothing have ever bought? I am an Icebreaker junkie - but every piece is so well worth the money. I first became addicted on a trip to New Zealand. I love this piece so much I just ordered a second one from New Zealand as Zappos was out of my size. I wear it under for warmth, and but nice enough that I wore it under a dressy black sequined sweater as my camisole that was fully exposed, and fit beautifully with the formal sweater and black plants. Very versatile, yet snuggly warm too.

Lightweight and warm!
I purchased this jacket locally a year ago, but after a car accident some EMTs misplaced (stole) it. I just had to purchase another one, no question about it. The jacket is lightweight, warm and isolates you from the wind like nothing else. This layers really well with a long sleeve shirt or sweater. Size feels true and the jacket looks great. You get what you pay for with jackets - and this one is worth it.

I first found Icebreaker Merino Wool while in New Zealand several years ago. I was instantly hooked and have since purchased many products, including these camis, tshirts, tanks and both the Mayfair and Jetter coats. Wonderful, top quality clothing that is completely worth the price tag. Everyone I know that has tried Icebreaker have quickly become faithful followers of this brand. They are built with excellent quality wool, they fit softly with no itch whatsoever. You will simply not believe you are wearing wool, they are so comfortable right next to the skin, and I am very sensitive to wool and even itch with cashmere. They keep you toasty, without overheating during hot summer months in Missouri.

Terrific Crewe!
I'm from Thailand and come to California every year. Normally I suffer from the cold weather and never feel warm without layers of heavy clothing. Now, my life has changed! I recently bought 4 Icebreaker pieces of clothing and wear them layered. I am thrilled with these products! They are soft, thin, lightweight, and incredibly comfortable. They keep me warm in any condition without bulk and heaviness. I am enjoying my stay here for the first time! Also, I bought one for my friend who lives here, and she loves it!

These leggings feel and look great!
I received my pair of black Icebreaker's yesterday. I put them on and wore them for the rest of the day. They are so comfortable AND they fit like a dream. I can wear them under skirts and pants. What a great find! I'm looking forward to other products from this line.

Not as good as other Icebreaker Sport tops -
This is my second Icebreaker Sport top. It's less contoured than the Pinnacle of the same size. The ribbed sections under the arms stretch out quickly making the top too baggy for me. I also found two defects after purchasing:
1. There was a small hole at the thumbloop on one sleeve, where the sleeve fabric had not been properly incorporated into the edging.
2. The ribbon at the end of the zipper isn't quite square and makes the top bulge out awkwardly at this point.
Like all Icebreakers I've tried, Upstate is very soft and washes well.

I love Icebreakers. They are everything you want in a garment. Wish they had more colors... wool is not itchy, it's light, extremely comfortable, and can be worn without smell. Fabulous stuff. How bout a bathrobe? Or nightgown?

Perfect outdoor exercise/travel shirt -
For feel, don't think wool, think cotton. It's very comfortable wet or dry. But wet, you'll still stay warm--unlike cotton. And even after 5 days, it does not smell--you may, it won't. I've worn mine on mountain hikes for warmth, and in the Amazon rainforest for comfort and breath ability. All merino shirts are not the same. I've gotten other brands that wore out after only 20 wearings, while my Icebreaker is still going strong after 75.

Zappos and Icebreaker! Yay!
A couple months ago, I visited a sheep farm in New Zealand that raised merino wool for Icebreaker. This is a company that is fair to its suppliers. I happened to pick up this shirt before I left.
Boy am I glad that I discovered Icebreaker. Their products are wonderful: warm, lightweight, smart-looking, breathable, and easy to care for.
At first I was a bit wary of price, but this shirt is worth every cent. I love it! And Zappos customer service is superb.

I shrunk my husband’s shirt by mistake and he was very bummed so I needed a replacement right away. Since he received it as a gift while up skiing at a ski resort I thought for sure it would take forever to find the exact one. Low and behold by searching through Zappos website I found the exact I mean exact shirt, same color, size, everything. I was so thrilled with the free shipping and even more thrilled that it only took 2 days to get here.

My new favorite shirt -
This is my new favorite sweater. The ribbing along the sides and underarms makes it very flattering on my narrow shoulders & torso. It is almost more fashion than sporty. It's also ridiculously comfy and doesn't need to be washed often at all.

Great Shirt -
The shirt fits comfortably, and the shape is flattering to my curves. Best of all, the material is comfortable -- neither itchy nor slippery, and very light. Somehow, the shirt seems to stay fresh after wear. Kind of odd, but it's the first shirt I've owned that I haven't felt like I had to wash after one wear.
