I was looking for a suede cleaning product, and since I love shopping at Zappos, I went on a live chat. The agent did not disappoint, he immediately recommended the product he thought was the best. He was right. It was easy to use and did clean off all the stains and black marks from my puma shoes. Very effective product and excellent service by Zappos.

GAVE A 2nd LIFE TO MY SHOES -
After getting caught in a torrential storm and tromping through mud in my brand new $325 Mephisto "Lannys", I thought they were destined for the trash heap... Soooo, I bought this product as a last resort... My "Lannys" now look like new... I also like that it's not a spray product for a myriad of reasons (environment friendly, non-allergic, easier to use, etc., etc...)

Not ideal for nubuck sandals -
Possibly these products are good if you have a lot of area to clean, but all I wanted to do was spot clean some fairly thin strapped sandals and weatherproof them. The tip is kinda bulky for spot cleaning and as far as weatherproofing, I don't understand why the instructions say to clean the leather with a damp cloth before proofing them. It made me very uncomfortable to be putting water on my shoes. Everything is okay, I guess, but I got one spot on them that wasn't there before. I don't exactly know how, but I think it was created from either the product or sometime during the damp cloth wiping that is required for use of both products.

Nikwax Protector and Cleaner -
I was glad to be able to order these along with my son's sneaker order. He is in college and does not like to wear boots in messy weather. He sprayed the sneakers before he even left the apartment! It was kind of hard to find this product on the website.

Really great stuff; works like a charm -
These two worked wonders. I wouldn't be sure how they would work alone since I used them together (washed jacket with down wash, then with down proof, then dried the jacket in the dryer). Be sure to follow instructions exactly. My jacket is fluffy, clean (mysterious dirt and stains disappeared) and now rain water will "bead" off of it. Doesn't make the item waterproof, just a good water resistance.

Be careful of the type of leather you use this on!
I used this cleaner on my leather Sentra boots; it removed the antiqued finish and completely rubbed the leather polish off. I had to take these to a professional boot repair shop and thank GOD they were able to restore them. These were $400 boots that were almost ruined! Tip: stick with good old fashioned leather conditioner and forget about the cleaner on your expensive cowboy boots.

I bought this product thinking that it was a spray. It's not. It's a sponge on protectant that is actually very hard to apply and a bit messy--especially on slouch boots. But it does seem to work pretty well. I'm a little disappointed that Zappos doesn't have a bigger selection of shoe care products. I would recommend anything by Penguin shoe care products--much better.

Easy To Use New Product -
This set of products made in England is much easier to use (no spray in the atmosphere to set off allergies) and the spot cleaner removed spots from an older pair of nubucks that were becoming unsightly. Although expensive, it appears to cover numerous pairs of shoes. I waterproofed two pairs for my husband and myself and barely made a dent in its capacity.

Finally, a product that works!
Just when I was getting ready to throw out all my suede shoes, I found this product. The cleaner did a much better job of getting scuffs and marks (even on my white Mephistos) out of suede/nubuck than the dry cleaning stuff I used to use and the sealer gave them a new sheen.

Buyer Beware!
Although this may be an excellent product 99% of the time - there is always the chance that it will coat your washing machine and your clothes with a sticky white goo that is difficult to get rid of. This happened to me. I contacted NikWax directly and they were very helpful and refunded my money. However, try the product in your sink first!

Nikwax's Fabric/Leather & Cleaning Gel -
I have used this stuff before and really like it. They have greatly extended the wear of beloved Ariat’s. I work in my boots and in general, because of the tough conditions they experience, they only last a year. This pair which I have faithfully cleaned and conditioned with Nikwax is coming up on a year and a half. The only thing I would want different is to be able to order the waterproofing without having to order the cleanser as well as I find I run out of it much faster. Great stuff.
