All about Lacoste

History
The Lacoste company was founded in 1933 and takes its name from René Lacoste, the world renowned tennis player and sports enthusiast. René Lacoste did not like traditional shirts used for tennis and teamed up with Andre Gillier, the owner of France’s largest knitwear company, to create the knitted cotton pique shirt that has revolutionized the sportswear market.
Origin of the Crocodile
The American press nicknamed René Lacoste the “Crocodile” after he made a bet with the Captain of the French Davis Cup team. He had promised René a crocodile skin suitcase if he won a match that was important to the team. The American public stuck with this nickname which highlighted René’s tenacity on the tennis court. A friend of Renés, Robert George, drew a crocodile that was embroidered on the blazer that he wore on the court from then on out.

I finally found what I was looking for!
I'm 40-year-old stylish woman who travels a lot. I was looking for a comfortable yet feminine city shoe good for walking the streets of London. I wanted something that was a spin on the ballet flat, but not as flat. I love these because they have more styling (European) than a basic ballet flat and also have a little heel. The leather is super soft, so there was no break-in time, even with my Flintstone feet. They arrived yesterday and I wore them out to a Chris Isaak concert...I was standing, dancing, and walking for a few hours and my feet felt great! I recommend this shoe to ladies with wider feet. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. As I mentioned, I have Flintstone feet--short and wide, I usually wear a 7, 7.5, or 8, depending on the shoe, and I bought these in a 7.5--perfect!

These shoes are so comfortable and can be easily dressed up or down! I would agree that they are not the most breathable shoes, however, I recommend putting a little odor-eaters insole inside to make the shoes extra comfortable and not as hot!

Like walking barefoot -
Wonderful wonderful summer shoe - feels lightweight and very soft, but doesn't loose it’s outside shape and form even after months of wearing. Flats often don’t offer any cushioning, and you feet (specially heel) can hurt after standing or walking for a long period of time - but this shoe has a sneaker feel that cushions and molds to your foot, without looking bulky. It won’t squeeze and bother you when you feet are swollen on hot days. I am always looking for flats that are comfy but stylish enough for waling around the city – and that combo is hard to find since comfy models always have ugly “sporty” weird shaped rubber soles with strange finishes – but this model is perfect.
I wish if it was available in more colors and finishes – white is nice, but they’ll get dirty really easy and scratches look ugly and are hard to cover (as with any white shoe).

I brought the black, yellow "papaya" sneakers and I've received so many compliments!! These shoes look and fit great and go with so many outfits! I must admit they're a little pricey, but they really are worth it if you love high style.

A great retro brand, re-emerged with a modern classic look. Wear these with jeans or as casual flips with shorts----or simply great pool and beach flips. I bought them from Zappos in all the colors available. You can't go wrong with Lacoste and free shipping with Zappos.

This shoe is really great! I love the way it looks! I've been trying to find a black tennis shoe for awhile and I think I finally found it! They are really comfortable except for the tab thing in the back (it gets a little annoying), but besides that, it is really great!

Painful heel! I found that the shoes ran a bit small (9.5 and felt like I needed a 10, which they don't make). The heel is fitted and rubbed painfully resulting in sizable blisters.

Woo Hoo! Ya gotta get these! This is absolutely the best shoe I've owned in years. Extremely light, form-fitting and comfortable. Very stylish – strangers stop me to ask what kind they are and where I found them. Liked them so much, bought a pair in each color...and a pair for my son and my brother! You will not regret this purchase. Great with shorts and jeans. Shoes will fit snug at first (but should not be overly tight), and will stretch out after a few days. If they are loose when you first try them on, I would return them for at least a half smaller size. These are also very narrow shoes, but again, will stretch and form to the width of your foot. Zappos rules when it comes to price, selection and service. Thanks Zappos!

Cool roomy bag -
This bag is so roomy - it can fit my laptop in emergency cases! It is sturdy and durable (as I said, I use it to carry my laptop sometimes though I am sure it was not built for that purpose). This can be used as a diaper bag. And I love the color. I wish the handles could've been longer though.

Ordered before noon on Wednesday... shoes were in my office Thursday afternoon. Amazingly fast shipping. Shoes look great. Only thing is the back black looks a little sparkly. It still looks good though. It’s just the picture didn’t really show the sparkles on my computer. It’s not major and the shoe still looks awesome!

These boots are fantastic...They are the comfiest stylish boots/shoes that I own, are very practical and warm in the winter, but don't make your feet sweat. They're my ultimate fav winter boot!
Although, the size I bought was 5.5 and I'm more of a 6 - so it felt a 1/2 size smaller.
